    Changed the blade over to a better quality blade (Diablo) and put a 2.0ah battery on the saw. In my opinion it made a huge difference. Thanks for watching and get subscribed if you aren’t already!

    Speed squares work great as a guide. I've even used a clamp to hold the square in place while I cut. Then you don't have to worry about it accidentally moving.

    • @themaintenanceman1
      @themaintenanceman1  3 роки тому +1

      That’s absolutely the ideal way of doing it. But for a quick cut holding it does fine also. Thanks for watching buddy!!

    Setting the depth for the wood helps stop burning as well as chipping during the breakthrough always want the blade and the end of the cut with as little breakthrough as possible

    Thanks for a very thorough tutorial. I have one of the saws and the only problem I was having was that the spring came off in the guard, so I just removed the spring since I couldn’t see where the other end had come loose. I used it a few times like that with no problem, but what it’s doing now IS a problem.… as soon as I start sawing, it stops. It will run in the air but as soon as it’s applied to wood, it stops. It was still working with the old blade but wasn’t cutting great any more, so I put a new blade on it and now I can’t use the saw, so a new $20 blade and a saw that won’t even make a single cut…. The battery is fully charged. .All I’m trying to cut is a thin cedar fence pickets. Any ideas what the problem is or what to do about it? Thank you anyone who has any input on this.

      Hi Marcy. Thanks for watching! As for your problem with the saw I do not know what could be wrong with it. The only thing I can think of is the blade might be one backwards. I be done that before. Other than that they do come with a warranty. I think 3 yrs. But I’d return it to Walmart and get a new one. Hope this helps!

    Believe it or not... I've made thousands of of my hyper tough tools. I originally had DeWalt powered tools that were stolen from me. So these hyper tough tools were supposed to be temporary but ended up being my primary tools going on almost two years now. And when I say I made thousands, I'm talking about 600 ft privacy fencing. All my electrical, especially the impact with impressive torque. I actually have every battery powered hyper tough tool and for the cheap investment, I'm gaining a crap load of profit. I even have brand new back ups just in case. But thus far, I'm impressed with the original first

    • @themaintenanceman1
      @themaintenanceman1  2 роки тому

      I’m glad to hear them working out for you. As long as your making a profit and they are getting the jobs done then that’s all that matters 👍. Thanks for watching!

      I am in the opposite boat, used to use whatever tools they’d lend me at work for years, new operations manager bought us all full hyper tough kits and at the time I was dumbfounded that I had no idea what an impact driver was before. Going from a single random drill driver to a full kit in general was life changing.
      The thing is it really depends on the tool. For example the impact driver and circular saws worked fine and well to get the job done. But those hyper tough drill drivers are damned near useless children’s toys. Weakest slowest rpm drills I have ever seen. And those impacts, while perfectly capable of almost any job an impact driver is designed to do, catch fire and burn up if you’re going really hard and fast on them. Like when tacking cable, that’s how I burned up 3 of them. You gotta let them cool down a bit while using em so it’s best to get a few.
      Now I switched to dewalt which was another life changing experience. Collected for over 2 years then had it all stolen. Sat on it for a bit but I spent the insurance $ on dewalt again because the durability is absolutely stupidly insane.

    I’m a young lady diyer, and trying to adjust the depth of the blade. The lever is not budging unless I’m doing something wrong. Watch so many videos but none of them shows how it works. Do I have to loosen the nut and circlip or is simplest thing but I’m not sure how to use

    • @themaintenanceman1
      @themaintenanceman1  2 роки тому

      Yes there should be a screw (plastic knobish looking thing) near the rear of the saw. If you loosen that up then the handle should go up from the rear of the saw. It’s usually under where the battery slides in . Let me know if that helps and or makes sense. If not I can do a short clip later with a different circ saw but give you a visual to see. Let me know. Thanks!

    Do you have a video for those of us (meaning me) on how to get it started the first time. I am sure I am doing something wrong. I have tried to get it to spin but I don't understand exactly what buttons and what order for my saw to even come on. I know how to use a hyper tough corded skil saw. Please don't fall out of your chair laughing at me either. 😂

    • @themaintenanceman1
      @themaintenanceman1  7 місяців тому +1

      lol. No worries. I would say make sure the battery is fully charged, make sure it’s inserted into the tool properly, then there is a safety trigger you got slide to the right (I think or it might go right and left) but you have to use one hand to slide that and pull the trigger and the saw should start spinning. If it doesn’t you might just have a dead battery. Like no good at all. Thanks for the question.

    I have that same circular saw, and I'm so surprised to see what motor it uses, mine was broken and I'm not easy to give things up so I tear it down and I found a 775 dc motor that drives it, I'm now really amazed of what this 775 motor can do, cheapest and so easy to find, this motor is utilized in everyday things that uses 12-24v battery.

    • @themaintenanceman1
      @themaintenanceman1  3 роки тому

      I honestly don’t know. I’ve never used a circular saw for that. I use mitre saw/ table saw or I have a flooring saw also that’s like a small tracsaw. And you use the special blade the name escapes me but it’s specifically for engineered hardwood floors. So idk maybe with a 4ah battery and the blade but I don’t think it could do it day in and day out

      Hypertough I don’t think makes a 3ah battery but they do have hypertough does have 20v 4ah batteries. In my Walmart they put them with the cordless hypertough leafblower and string trimmer aisle. They also have a 2 port rapid charger in that section. The battery is 40 or 50 dollars I can’t remember.
