I got my offer letter to start as a local driver how to Fontana. If you’re not getting a lot of miles as a local driver, I’m trying to figure out how the pay is.
I worked for Walmart at a DC for 5 years straight out of high school I've been trucking for 2 now I'm 24 I can't wait till I hit 30 months so I can start applying to drive for them. Amazing company to work for just can't be lazy
@@walmartprofessionaldriver thanks man I'm down here in Central Florida it's gonna be hard to get in but thankfully I'm comfortable where I'm at and can be patient. Be safe out there brother
I run out of DC 6036 Palestine TX. I run all over TX, La,Ok,Ark,Ms and NM. i run a average of 500miles a day with at least 5-7 activities. I normally run DFW alot. I typically run between 2600-2800 miles a week but I'm on 6/2 schedule.
I was gonna ask what was limiting your days from being very productive, but you mentioned living in cali. That’ll do it. I’m applying here in New Mexico, and I’ll use your referal. Best of luck to you, stay safe
I would imagine bay area runs would be rough, constantly in traffic 55 mph 14 hr days . Utah would seem to me a little better to run, more milage and less on duty stores farther apart.
you are of the opinion 55 mph is punishment? When I started driving truck , 55 mph was the nationwide limit. I survived...and then some.... Because of the Teamsters Union primarily. Trucking does not have to be driver against driver nor a race.
@@MetalTeamster Didnt say it was a race. Just saying more miles traveled in a day typically means more money to take home to your family, not to mention less traffic areas equates to less stress .
I work for Wal-Mart too. I like to start at 2 in morning also and I try to sleep at Wal-Mart's if I can instead of truck stops. I try to average 500 to 600 hundred a day. It's hard when you got to do grocery delivery
@@FredyLagos how long did it take you to get in? I've been applying for years lol I worked at DC6071 for 5 years as a selector and now I've been driving trucks for 5 years otr
That was before the national raise. It's pretty hard in California to hit 110 first year. 100 to 104 definitely doable. We get annual raises so it's easier every year. Other states like TX UT ect. It should be really easy to hit 110 first year
@@walmartprofessionaldriver I see, well I applied I got hired once before but I didn’t have enough experience so they told me to reapply when I do. Hopefully I get picked again now that I do.
That seems sort of funny. I guess they don't have dispatchers / managers that push people at Wal Mart. I worked at Teamster jobs all my life and contrary to the notion that Union drivers are lazy, we are mostly very disciplined and have to perform. I had to turn on my 10 almost every trip, shutting down when I felt like it was not allowed...period. If we had hours available , we were to continue unless it was unsafe to do so, and failure to do so resulted in discipline.
@@teamdada2194 It’s definitely not that high. Also we get paid every 2 weeks. That would be $100 a week. I’m single, so I don’t know what family would be. Mine is like $33 every 2 weeks for single. Less than $50 for medical, dental and vision.
I have a question my home state is Sacramento California but they have me going to Red Bluff, CA to do my onboarding, does that mean I’m gonna be stuck at That dc instead of the one in Sacramento?
@@walmartprofessionaldriver we all know is coming, problem is that, how much exactly we will get, is still under the hat. I heard big numbers hope is true what people saying. Hi from DC 7033

They pay you a higher mileage rate down there also activity pay. Every drop, hook, live load, etc. It adds up better than a miles only job

I am hoping to some day be able to work for Walmart. I just stated trucking with fedex ground. I need the expertise
Nice. 30 months experience and then you can apply
Ever hear anything about the Washington location?
I actually do not. And I've only been as far north as Hermiston. All I know is they get alot of miles compared to California

1 year
What's the health care cost for a family
Depends on the plan. There are several options. It's cheaper then when I was at FedEx and another driver told me cheaper than UPS.
