After being with Walmart for 5 years now I can honestly say my worst day here was a normal day at my other job. My first full calendar year I made 93k, and it’s been 112k plus since. On top of the 5 weeks vacation to start with is out standing. I feel like I’m loafing sometimes and still make a great living, and quality home time.
Exactly. My first year was 92k but that was before they did the big nation wide raise. It's been amazing
I am thinking about getting my cdl! Do you think they would hire new drivers ?
@@Sicwkskxkckckzdyes if you go work at a Walmart warehouse or facility you can go through their training program. That’ll be a way for you to avoid having to get 39 months of experience before joining them. I wish they had this program when I worked at Walmart

@@miguelcarlos8736 no they do not
My husband started driving for Walmart about six months ago and it has been the biggest blessing for us. There *was* an adjustment period where it took him a month or two to get into his groove, then he started making a lot more money. The first month had me concerned, but it definitely improved!
Stay faithful to that man. What happens in the dark will come to the light.

@@lesieli sorry I’m a driver with a wife and kids interested in Walmart regional can you tell me how is the home time ?
@@jacobbaxter5901 home time is amazing. It used to be I was lucky to see my husband for 3 days a month, but with Walmart he’s home 2 days out of every week. And that is 2 full days, not partial. He gets home Monday night and leaves Thursday morning. They’ve never missed getting him home for his days off. Plus with their PTO and safety bonus days he gets 24 days a year off. It’s the first time in years he’s been home for most of the holidays and all of the kids birthdays. People say a lot of stuff about Walmart, but they’ve been very good for our family.

Did you get it?
Been with Walmart for a little over two years now and it is the best move that I ever did!
how often are you home?
Do they do hair follicle tests?
How often you home, do they allow pets? Do they do teaming?
Home time depends on what board you're on. I'm on 5 out 2 days home, but it's really 4.5 out 2.5 home. There are 6/2 5 on 5 off.
Hair folical? Not when I came aboard 2 years ago.
No pets
They asked us about teams, but our DC isn't.

My father in law just retired from Wal-Mart Transportation after 23 years running out of the Cullman,Al DC , he only has good things to say about them and the extra pay such as being paid to sleep in the truck, paid for drop paid for hook, never touch freight, and he said he really did enjoy working their, he said safety has gotten stricter being with cameras inside and outside the truck, but he said he never had anything to hide but did sy he always covered the in cab camera during his sleeper time because that was his personal time.. but all in all he said if he had it to do over again he would, he started when they were still running the international cabovers, but hoe this helps others also, seems to me like they are good people to truck for, if I went back to trucking I would consider it, but iv been a underground coal miner for almost 3 years now and the money is way to good to walk away, stay safe everyone.
Thanks 👍. and you stay safe in the coal mines !
October will be my 2 year mark and I love it here. My on boarding only had me and one other guy he made it too. It took me about 6 months to get the pay up too.

I am almost at two years with TMC, flatbed trucking. And have been told by many people I’m doing too much work for what I get paid. Perhaps that’s true. I am looking into better truck jobs. But as of now, what I have is the best job I’ve ever had. I am thinking about Walmart. Why I’m watching your video. Just commenting and liking for the algorithm. Maybe I’ll work at Walmart like you one day.
Ltl companies also pay very well. XPO pays for every minute you're at work. Plus the are starting guys at 31.48 with experience. And 74.5 cpm for linehaul runs. Walmart, xpo, FedEx, all pay very well. It's like a teir higher than tmc, martin, Schneider ext.

I got the job. And now I'm in Pensacola delivering loads! Best decision I ever made.
I just got my CDL and would love to work with Walmart. Do you think working with Martin transport is the fastest way to get hired with Walmart?

I wouldn't worry about giving notice. Companies don't give you notice when letting u go. Turnabout's fair play
Would your company give you a two week notice if they were going to fire you? 2 weeks notice is made up by employers, just like when they say don’t talk about your wages amongst other employees.
Agreed. Fuck a 2 week notice.

Hey is there a hiring freeze because i don't see nothing for Texas?
Did everything they asked during pre employment only to be told today that the distribution that I applied for has made some circumstance changes and I will have to be put on hold until they have additional openings. Do you know if they have a rider policy and if so what it includes. As far as brining one of your kids on the road for a week.

I am going to onboarding in September do you remember if I have to take a physical then ? Also the color blindness test was it a chart on the wall or numbers hidden in dots ? Enjoy your videos
Physical is after onboarding. Don't remember taking a color blindness test. I remember eye sight test was on the wall at the particular clinic that they sent me to.
Thanks I appreciate your reply drive safe
How'd it go? Do they do hair follicle tests?
It's both where they sent me, it's the eye test on wall with colors and them the thing you look in that hides numbers
What else should we be studying for after I get my cdl ? I have yard Experience so I have backing skills .. 6 moths what else should I be studying for ?
to get hired its just 45 degree backing in tight spots with tandems forward and the pre trip and road test. so just take your pre trip seriously and take every opportunity to back in hard spots don't be afraid to get out and look. after you hit the experience requirement you should be ready
Okay sounds like a bet
Will they hire without any experience. The only experience I have is driving in CDL school and driving hostlers for Amazon.
No minimum experience is 30 months. It's on there website. And the requirements change often so that can go up or down
Do you have a better shot if you are currently with another company running dedicated Walmart?
Makes no difference. They follow the minimum requirements to the letter. That's all that matters
hey bro do they use cameras that face road and cab ? Any team driving ? thanks
Road facing only. There is team. It's rear. If you want it. Best to get your foot in the door then ask. They make a killing though. They really pay our team drivers more than anyone else
Did you guys get bumped up to 70mph ? Been coming across quit a few doing more than 65
Not that I know of. Downhill?
Here in Massachusetts it would be weird if I didn't see one doing any less that 70,75
What is the on boarding with walmart
Do you still have to slip seat when your a new driver and do you still get crappy schedules like Tuesdays threw Saturday?
Slip seating is rare and certainly not every week. Some dcs don't even do it. And most likely you will have Saturday and Sunday in your work week in the beginning. They pay you more if you work weekends. I choose to work weekends still
Another truck driver don't like to follow the rules.
How long did it take the recruiters to call you. My husband just applied like 3 weeks ago
Well when I applied it wasn't a rush of people now it's common for a few weeks but I just had someone tell me he's at 2 months. If your husband put someone down as a reference that person can ask HR to check the status
Does anyone know if any Walmart can help you get your cdl?
They have a program for walmart employees. (Store employees) walmart will pay for truck driving school.. then attend a walmart driving academy, then train with a walmart driver, then you are sent to your home D.C All training is done in the Dallas Ft. Worth area.
Does Walmart fire drivers for not getting vaccinated?
Interstingly, I work at Walmart (in-store) and whenever im eating my lunch in my car, I see one of the big trucks with the huge Walmart logo, I always wonder where they came from and where they are going to next. Always wishing them well on the road. 🚛

Unfortunately, walmart is starting to hire a bunch of run of the mill dirty, bad attitude drivers, but on the upside, they dont last long. I've noticed more trash and facilities not being as clean because of these cockroaches.
