    I’m 100% with you about working when I’m not at home. I know a few drivers that shut down early and then take an 11-12 hour break. If I’m not going home, I’m working until I can’t, then I’m starting again in 10 hours and 1 second!

    I call my DC or the Rock before I arrive where I’m sent (I will not call if I am already dispatched) and ask to be dispatched because I will be arriving soon. Doing that helps me keep rolling. I dislike sitting and waiting to be dispatched.
    All of Rich’s ideas work as well. You make driving at Walmart the way that you want. The tricks he talked about are so worth it. $$$$

      @@carlosfuentes2485for Walmart you need like almost 3 years experience or need to be a store employee for a year before doing their driving academy training.

    Also,
    Making sure you hit arrived as soon as you are in the geo fence especially while you are at the dc’s and doing groceries. Getting that unscheduled time can help rather its 1/2 a hour or a hour, that can add up.

    I see a lot of bashing of Walmart online. Want to make great money.. Walmart! Want to have a family life.. Walmart! Want to get treated with respect.. Walmart!
    What's the catch? There really isn't any.. They want safe drivers transporting their freight from the yard to the store. They don't want you to take shortcuts and they will never ask you to.. That's not a bad thing.

    Just curious about your opinion about the wal mart a2d program and advice for the new a2d drivers.

      @@johnbalukonis9157 I was shocked when I first heard about it. I never thought Walmart would begin training new drivers. I've heard that the A2D drivers, having successfully completed the program, are turning out to be very safe drivers, proving the program is working.
      Time will tell if it stays that way. I'm all for it unless they start hitting things, bringing our reputation for safety down.

    i have a question if anyone can answer it for me i got my license about a year ago and i went local to start have about a years exp local no accidents no tickets knock on wood its a battle everyday someone wants to die but anyway i was telling an older driver i wanted to eventually try and work for walmart cause they pay very well and said most otr companies doesnt really except local exp is this the case for walmart does anyone know ?

    • @getrichwalmart
      @getrichwalmart  Місяць тому +1

      @@jblue8436 yes they accept local driving experience, as long as it is in a tractor/trailer. One of the drivers I mentored at Walmart came from a local day-cab job.

    WHAT IS PAY PER MILE???? I've looked and searched for hours on end and there's no clear answer. From what i gathered its anywhere from $0.55-$0.89/ mile and that is such a huge gap and doesn't make sense. Can you please tell me what the pay per mile is before I lose my mind trying to find an answer?

    • @getrichwalmart
      @getrichwalmart  Місяць тому +4

      @@user-ut6pm2ky5y the reason it's hard to answer is because it changes for multiple reasons.
      1- New Walmart drivers start out at a lower pay rate. It takes a couple years to work up to the max rate.
      2- I believe they are still doing the "geographic based" pay. Meaning you get paid a little different depending on where in the country you live. For example, drivers delivering to the Northeast, and those delivering to the LA/SoCal area get paid a little more due to the high congestion.
      3- drivers working a full Saturday and Sunday get paid 7 cpm more for those two days.
      So that's why it's hard to get a definite answer on a CPM. It varies. Also you can't only focus on the cpm, because that only makes up about 1/2 to 2/3 of my overall pay. Activity pay makes up the rest (stops, drops, hooks, etc)
      But if it helps, my current CPM is 64.5 and I don't get the weekend bonus.

      In my region starting pay is .58 plus a fraction of a penny. (I think it’s .58125 or something close)
      But, if you do overnights it’s an extra 7 cents, and the weekend is another 7 cents.
      But again, miles are just a part of the overall pay package.

    How do you guys get dispatched? Is it forced dispatched or can drivers pick where they wanna run?

    • @getrichwalmart
      @getrichwalmart  24 дні тому

      @@mac11daddy6 most dispatches come from the regional operation center that controls all dispatches within any region, and most are forced dispatch based on driver location and availability. There are a few bid runs that come with seniority.
