It's so kick butt to me. My son wanted drive so bad. He graduated with his CDLs in 2020. There were 3 young women who graduated with him. Male truck driver. I love seeing women out there earning a living, no matter what job. Competent female truck drivers quickly earn their co-workers respect, and (from what I've witnessed) are treated very well by the men. Sort of a work sister. This family is earning their living, sticking together. Nothing but respect.
Be careful though, truckers are the first to feel a recession.
The way she spoke about her husband is amazing she is a good woman he is a lucky man to have a woman work for him and their kids
😂
Seems the truth is she probably don't like cooking and cleaning etc
Nice video. Keep it up.Trucking is a great occupation which yields a lot of money but not everyone is lucky speaking from the other side if you understand, I was into trucking about 6 years ago and as at then I worked for FedEx before I went on driving trucks for companies which I was taken advantage of until I became so fed up and made up my mind of being an entrepreneur of my own which I made proper research on and had to hire and highly skilled and licensed grant writer and editor to help me through my application on government grants and I was awarded $500k as a startup capital and today I can proudly bold of owning my own truck company in which I make over 37k a month as my profit and now I'm in the process of starting up a daycare business for my wife and a salon for my sister. So therefore determination is a key to good living and erasing the mentality of being and underdog too helps a lot, knowing your worth also, I know not everyone is determined to be successful in life but my advice is for you to not be among the Unsuccessful ones.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own trucking company and be successful in the industry?
You mentioned considering other ventures like a daycare business and a salon. How do you approach diversifying your business interests while ensuring success in each endeavour? Any lessons learned or advice for others looking to expand into different industries?.
Thank you for sharing your incredible story, Bobby! It's inspiring to hear how you transformed your trucking career into owning your own successful truck company. I've been driving trucks for 7 years and can truly appreciate the challenges and opportunities that come with it.
Your advice on taking control of your own destiny and becoming an entrepreneur resonates deeply with me. It's empowering to see how determination and hard work can lead to remarkable outcomes. I admire your dedication to research and seeking government grants as a startup capital. It's a great reminder that exploring different avenues for funding can make all the difference in starting a successful business.
Your success not only in the trucking industry but also in branching out to other ventures like a daycare business and salon is truly remarkable. It's a testament to your entrepreneurial spirit and the endless possibilities that come with it. Your advice to not settle for being an underdog and to know one's worth is invaluable.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom and encouraging others to strive for success. Your journey is a source of inspiration and motivation. Wishing you continued success and fulfilment in all your future endeavours!
@@Alinaporrea I would advise someone who wants to start their own trucking company to first do thorough research on the industry. Understand the market demand, competition, and regulations. It's important to have a clear business plan and financial strategy in place. Also, consider hiring skilled professionals, like grant writers and editors, to assist with government grant applications or other funding opportunities. Determination and knowing your worth are key factors for success. Don't be afraid to take risks and be your own boss. It's a challenging but rewarding journey
@@aaronbrooks745 Diversifying into other ventures requires careful research and planning. I ensure that each business venture aligns with market demand and has a viable growth potential. It's important to delegate responsibilities effectively and hire competent managers to oversee day-to-day operations. Developing a strong support network, seeking advice from industry experts, and staying agile in adapting to the unique challenges of each industry are also critical factors for success.
144k a year but her actual take home is half of that. Remember guys. Fuel, insurance, maintenance, fees, and payments(if you dont flat out own the truck) eat into your profits.
4real lol fuel alone is like over 70k for the year OTR
Insurance 14k-18k depending
Maintenance also depends on

Right on you go girl! I'm also a female trucker myself. Been on the job since June or July of 2021. Spent a month and half on with my mentor. And I been in my own company truck since September that same year. I'm otr currently but I'm planning on doing local work in Texas soon. It's the first job I've had that I don't hate. I absolutely LOVE this woman's energy!
So happy to see her on here. I first started following her on Tik Tok and she is such a positive person. I love her saying “I maybe a broken crayon but I still can color”.
I always joke that I've driven more miles than any nonprofessional. Never driven for money but had a very long commute for years and also toggled between two residences. I have so much respect for the truck drivers. They're driving that huge beast and they do so with such care and restraint. They're so critical to our society, yet get so little respect. I can also imagine the psychological struggles of long haul trucking and time away from family. If a woman can do it and thrive, God bless her. She's got my respect.
This woman deserves everything good that comes her way!
Big time, her energy itself, I love people like that
God continue to bless this lady. Cause you keep miracles.
This is the best interview video because this woman/ human being loves what she does. It's joyful in the process of doing what she loves.
So much respect for you and everyone in that industry. You’re a wonderful representative.
What a GREAT interview. Clarissa Rankin has a positive outloook on the trucker life. This is not easy!
Good job, sis! These jobs keep the world going. Thank you for your service 🙏🏾✊🏾
As a diesel mechanic, it's refreshing getting drivers coming into the shop with positive attitudes. any freightliner from 2012 to 2019 is a good truck to drive. parts are easy to come by for the most part, oil changes and other services are easy to do as well. By far a really good truck, especially with the DD15 engine.
The trucking industry held me for 4 months. I figured out quick that it's not worth working in an industry in need of such massive reform.
"Debt peonage" couldn't be more accurate. "Indentured servitude" would be a good term for it as well. You would not believe how many of these companies try to get brand new drivers to lease trucks just to be indebted to the company. It's a predatory system that robs the workers of their livelihoods. Many of these people have little to no education and don't see it coming until they're underwater and out of options and that’s why I had to make research about governmental grants and hired a licensed professional grant writer who helped me in securing a grant and I could start up a business for myself.
People/companies at the top more interested in lining their pockets without concern for the companies that deliver the product. It is not capitalistism but " cronyism " brought to us by socialism. All the drivers are independent business contractors and could use guidance on operating a business, what we don't need is unions. Thuggery didn't work previously and as a result unions declined to just government employees.
Speaking of governmental grants can you enlighten me more on it. I arrived applying for a few online but all to no avail, at first thought it was my credit but it wasn’t because I knew I had a good credit, probably because I’m not familiar with the application process.
Yep, I'm getting out. I'm a retired Firefighter/Paramedic and went into trucking to supplement my meager pension. work 60-70 hours a week, but only get paid when my wheels are turning. Waiting to be unloaded, loaded, traffic, getting fuel, breakdowns, no pay. So my pay average is approximately $16 an hour for driving a near 80,000 (most of the time) vehicle in the dark and through all weather.
I've told my firefighter buddies something they found hard to believe, that truck driving is WAY more dangerous. Hard to believe, but it's true. So I now have my full year of tractor/trailer experience and 120,000 safe miles, which would enable me to go look for more money, but the money is just not there. I'm tired of working 60-70 hours a week.
So I'm going to work as a Paramedic at a local hospital which pays hourly and OVERTIME after 40 hours and I'll be off the road before I get killed. if you asked someone if they'd like a job where you work 70 hours a week, but only get paid for about 40, oh, and that it's very dangerous and you'd be around rude and incompetent people all day (drivers on the road) no one would want the job.
I made some research on governmental grants though and I have been asked to hire a licensed grant specialist but I haven’t found any but seeing this I would want to implore you if you can recommend me to the specialist that helped you with yours.

Some people here are saying she works too hard and doesn't make enough money. But she's self-employed -- that makes all the difference. When you work for yourself, you put in a lot of extra time, but you love every second of it. It's hard to put into words how empowering it is to be your own boss, and how many rewards come with it. It changes everything. She's living her best life in what is still the land of opportunity. God bless this lovely woman and her family.
She only make 144k because she is not running coast to coast, looks like she mainly runs local. If she was running coast to coast, she would gross over 220k
She may be an independent contractor but she leases that truck from a company that has a lot of say so on what she can and can not do. For 70k a year you are way better off driving for a company and not deal with any breakdown headaches. High fuel cost health insurance cost etc
you only see the good sides of this. you don't know how stressful it is.
