This was a very interesting perspective. I actually wasn't aware how many fans were expecting more tactical rpg from this. For me it was quite the opposite, I bout it because I expected a visual novel and was disappointed that there was so much RPG in it. I expected Story battles and nothing more, but instead there were random encounteres and xp farming too, which distracted from the story. I fully agree though that it would have been nice if the RPG aspect was actually good. But at this point, I think of Digimon Survive almost entirely as a Visual Novel and when a Digimon Survive 2 drops, I would be fine with the gameplay getting swapped out for whatever, as long as the story was good. If they instead delivered the most amazing Tactical RPG ever, but mixed with a lackluster story, that would be quite a disappointment.

Great points again! I’d love to see the recital gameplay turned up while the super strong story stays in place. That would be my ideal Digimon game!

Yes! I'm waiting for the updates to Switch, Mobile, and PC, but will have more competitve content once that all releases :)
