  • Connor Kaminski takes us through a variety of tone examples and applications for the Ragnarok humbucker set, our second signature humbucker for Periphery guitarist, Misha Mansoor.
    The Ragnarok is a high output, aggressive, ceramic-powered humbucker that delivers a fat slab of rich tone, with tight and powerful lows and a dense midrange. It's perfect for driving your signal chain hard, to achieve huge, saturated distorted tones, while retaining excellent definition, as well as pushed cleans with a grizzly edge-of-breakup response. Pure cleans also benefit from the more compressed feel of this set, with even power delivery and a fast, percussive pick attack.

      In your opinion, which was more versatile: Ragnarok or Black Hawk?

    I love my ragnarok set. I have a set of juggernauts too and wonder if a combination of ragnarok bridge and juggernaut neck would sound good. I truly think it does 😊

      @@BKPickups yes i guess thank you and maybe adding a single coil middle trilogy suite pickup in between and it would be the holy grail of versatility

    I have just installed a pair of Ragnarok on my Charvel, what height of microphones do you recommend so that I get the best out of them ?

    Покупал у вас данный сет для семиструнной гитары, с доработкой, если помните, нужно было скруглить края, с доставкой в россию. Хочу сказать спасибо! Встали как родные. Было это до войны еще, печально что такие времена настали(

    How is the clarity and percussiveness when compared to an active set like fishman abasis... Would anyone ever know???

    Really wish the cleans weren't completely drowned in reverb, really wanted to heard the performance compared to Juggernaut :/

    I love how quacky the ragnaroks are in the split positions. I've been eyeing the aftermath set recently. Would that set be good for quacky split coil percussive playing on cleans or low gain?

      Punchy ceramic pickups will often have that sort of vibe in split-soil settings, so you'll certainly be able to get into a similar ballpark with the Aftermath

    What is your signal chain? I don’t think I can tell what is the pickup response, given your rig. 😎😁🤘🏻

      Just straight into the Quad Cortex dude! Very simple patches here. The rhythm for example is just an OD into an amp with a cab, nothing more. Clean stuff is a compressor into a bogner vishnu and then the ever popular reverb/delay combo. The ambient stuff just has the same patch but with an OD in front 😎

    Trying to figure out whether I should get the Rags or Juggs. Who are the rags for vs juggs?

    • @BKPickups
      @BKPickups  11 місяців тому +1

      Rags are a bit more aggressive and potentially a more universal high-output pickup for a wide range of players. Juggernauts have a little more headroom and have a hump in the midrange that gives them a bit more of a nasal character, making them a bit more suited to contemporary metal tones / djent

    Which has more output: Aftermaths or Rags?

    • @BKPickups

      Ragnaroks have the most output for sure, the oversized ceramic magnet used in the bridge version drives the signal really hard!
