  • Toyota has released the Supra 2.0 for the 2021 model year, and it's 2.0 4-cylinder turbo engine sacrifices some horses for 220 pounds less heft when compared to the full-fat 3.0. This lightweight Supra has us wondering though, is this the turbo 86 that we've been asking for? And how different is it from the 3.0 Supra? Let's find out.

    I would say the 86 would make a nice daily while the Supra 2.0 could be a sick project to work on or vice versa

    Everyone says this is an "engine swap" car but before we get there, why not let people explore how much the 2.0T can take with tuning and bolt-ons.
    Let's see if the B48 can slot itself comfortably with the likes of EA888, 4G63, EJ25, 3S-GTE and Honda K20 in the realm of highly tunable 4 bangers.

      I wouldn't put it out there like that but I've only heard them getting as far as 400hp. It's already closed deck just like the B58 but i think what some say the problem is is it can't handle heat as well as the B58 can from what I heard.

      @albonfilms  2 роки тому

      It actually does not in the USA! Only in a few other markets does it get fitted with the M-Sport LSD. In the US, it's open. I confirmed this with the engineers. Hence why it drove like an open diff. Just a one tire fire.

      Different strokes for different folks I suppose! I've had an automatic Supra for 3 years now and I've found it to be mostly boring, even with adding power. I'm looking forward to getting into a manual 86 sometime soon.

      @@albonfilms if you want to drive a manual, that is fine. I used to like manuals better, I even owned a MK4 manual. But that was because automatics were horrible at that time. The moment I could get my hands on a double clutch with flappy paddles I decided I never wanted to have a manual ever again. The shifting with the paddles is just as engaging, but you can focus on the driving a lot more. And once you reach a traffic jam, it is just pure heaven not having to shift. But to each its own of course :)
