    Wash and go is extremely easy for me. I Cleanse (Come Clean or African Pride), Condition (Aphogee 2min or Aussie Moist) and use my Leave-In (Camille Rose Aloe Butter) then layer it with my hard-hold gel with a plasticiser (Wetline Xtreme Gel)
    I don't use botanical gel because it still contains one form of plasticizer or the other which is a waste of money.
    I use the smooth-and-rake method and I fan-dry with my standing fan.
    I live in a highly hot and humid country (Lagos, Nigeria), and I have mixed textures.
    I don't style in the shower because of the stress on my leg and my wash-n-go lasts for 7 days or more.
    I use enough products to make my hair do what I want it to do. I also use water from my mist bottle while styling.

      I think I've figured out an essential oil and synthetic fragrance-free dupe for your stylers that I can use. Stay tuned and hopefully, I'll be able to share a video about it soon. ❤

    Since you said you're sensitive to fragrances make your own gel it's easier,cheaper and you decide whether to put or not a certain ingredient. You literally need just few ingredients. For the recipe please go check Whole Elise DIY aloe gel video the title is "still using flaxseed gel...." something like that. It's been like 2 years using it. And for your wash n' go that's going to last try this combination: spray bottle with water and glicerine + leave-in + oil (I use argan oil)+ aloe DIY gel. I use this combo on my daughter's her and it works every time. Even if I braid her hair. If anyone will try it out please let me know❤

      Percentage for the water/glicerine spray is 1 part glicerine + 5 parts water

    So this takes a bit more time, but use a custard, define your hair like you're doing a wash and go, and then do a bunch of chucky twists without messing with the definition too much. Dry it in the twists, and take the twists out when ready. It was so defined, and so soft and lasted quite a while with volum and definition.

    • @FoAdunni
      @FoAdunni  7 місяців тому

      Thanks! How do you dry your hair in the twist? Do you use heat?

    • @sabinemarie2159
      @sabinemarie2159 7 місяців тому +1

      @@FoAdunni yes I blow dry them and usually take them down the next day but the great thing is if you need to take them down while they are still a little damp it still comes out pretty good unlike a traditional twistout. I think because it was originally styled as a wash and go it dries a little elongated too but still defined ☺️

    Uncle Funky’s Daughters Curly Magic as a base gel, applied while your hair is SOAKING wet followed up by wetline extreme gel rake through, scrunch and plop. This gives me insane definition and some volume. For length once your hair is 100% dry, blow it out from the roots down the length of your hair but not the tips (about an inch at the bottom). Pick it out for added volume.

    I've been trying different leave-ins with ENNBA naturals. I like the definition+volume I get with that combination. My leave-in to gel ratio is off. I am still trying to perfect my technique because I am experiencing product build up in some areas.

      Understandable. And you actually are reminding me that I really need to try more leave ins with Enbba. Thanks for your comment and I know you’ll figure out your ratio.

    I get the best definition but fluffy hold that lasts with shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie and then topped with wetline. It’s a super buttery feeling that really defines my hair but by day 3-5 gets super fluffy and big…. If I’m doing a strong hold combo for definition and volume that comes on week 2 lmao I use banana cream leave in from eco slay and then the Jell-O shot eco slay gel. It’s a botanical of somewhat of a base gel but it’s pectin so it’s super strong hold when dried. That combo last me 2 weeks in humid air I can get 10 ish days cold weather 15 if I’m pushing it minus working out that’s a different story haha but yea maybe try those combos

      I'm taking notes! Thanks for mentioning the Eco Slay. I can use the leave-in because it doesn't contain essential oils or synthetic fragrances. I'm thinking of pairing it with my Vani Cream gel. Thanks for all the details ❤

    Wash and go's are hard to get right. I hate that we have to put a lot of product in our hair. And then it doesn't even last very long. I also don't like how long it takes because I never actually "wash" and "go" lol.

    • @FoAdunni
      @FoAdunni  7 місяців тому +1

      Sometimes wash n gos are harder sometimes they are easier. 😭 Have you tried brands that cater to our hair like Miche or the Doux? Sometimes their gels can make wash n gos much easier for us.

      @DH-uw3us 7 місяців тому

      @@FoAdunni I try to clarify once a month. I wash once a week. I wash, condition and detangle, then deep condition. Then I put in leave in conditioner and style it. The products depend on the style, but for wash and go's I use the Doux Mousse and gel and then seal it with an oil.

    This is an interesting quest, curious to see how it goes.
    I have a maybe silly question, are there hairsprays in the fragrance free space? Maybe you can sort of freeze a fluffy set in place with one. Understaffed if you’d prefer not to use or can’t use one. I’ve been experimenting a bit with them

    • @FoAdunni
      @FoAdunni  7 місяців тому

      I’m happy it’s interesting! It’s not a silly question. I know No Nothing has a fragrance free hair spray. I don’t know a whole lot about hair sprays and I’m sort of nervous to use them. How are they working for you?

    • @Chromagens
      @Chromagens 7 місяців тому

      @@FoAdunni For hair sprays, I started using them for more stretched styles since where I live can be very wet. Since I saw some benefit there, I have tried adding it to my wash and gos but I've not been meticulous in observing how it performs. I do think that it adds a barrier against humidity and has helped prevent even my lower effort/not strong hold/fluffier wash and gos from frizzing too quickly. I use one from L'Oréal. Only thing I'd say is I do find it unpleasant to spray and breathe so you need to make sure you get air. I'm also not sure if I'll continue with it but mostly since I'm always confused on how to best dispose of aerosol cans and that mildly stresses me out.
