    Updated input on this routine:
    1. This combo was too many humectants and it began to make my hair gummy.
    2. This routine doesn't work in extremely high humidity.
    3. I no longer touch my head with the diffuser as this can cause frizz. I hover the diffuser over wet areas.
    Also:
    1. I do not base this routine working for me on hair type, but instead on a combination of the weather suited this technique, my hair is in the condition for it to work, and I am happy with the finish it produces.
    2. My strand size is coarse and my surface texture is medium to cottony.
    3. My curl artist approves of my product use of Curly Magic and The Doux Mousse Def for my hair. My product use and techniques are not recommendations for your own hair. I am simply sharing my hair care journey with learning different techniques, improving my product use, and adjusting methods and products to my asthma and allergies. I hope that my videos are a source of inspiration and fun.

      FO. congratulations on finding the answer to your hair needs! Your hair looks shiny and great! I am a grandmother and I have been natural for about 9 years. I agree that you have to find the products that work best on your hair! I have some heat damage and I am interested in your process, so I will give a few of the products you listed a try. God bless you and thanks for sharing! Very helpful!

      @@lorrainestinson1499 Hello! Thanks! Also I actually don't emphasize finding the right products. Hair health, technique, and then products can provide a satisfactory result. If I bought all the products you saw in this video and my hair was still damaged and I didn't know how to use the products my results would be poor.

    My fav wash and go combo is UFD curly magic, topped w/Nature's Little Secret Irish moss styling cream. The styling cream gives an added medium hold. If I want to be extra, I'll finish with the Texture ID foam. It has a nice hold, and helps to speed up the air drying process. Your hair is bomb😍

  • @lupe2947
    @lupe2947 3 роки тому +15

    It’s similar to me with the curly magic application. I can’t use any gels for that matter with soaking wet hair in the shower and added water. It gives my hair a squeaky/tangly feel, more frizz than my normal naked naked hair and that slippery texture of the gel disappears. It also drips all down my forehead and neck which is a waste to me and 100% irritating lol! I get better definition, shine and lasting results on wet hair that isn’t dripping and running. I have a short TWA and I get 3-4 days on less wet hair. Completely drenched hair gives me no days🤣🤣 ***I also noticed, when I use less water, my gels tend to froth up and adhere to my hair better than when it’s too wet, I’m thinking it’s diluting the product too much and sliding off.

    One thing that I do that may be interesting: I mix all the products I’m going to put in my hair together and then apply that to my hair. Today I’m mixing Camille Rose Honey Leave-in, UFD, and The DOUX Big Papa (this is a new addition I’m trying out today).

    • @FoAdunni
      @FoAdunni  3 роки тому +1

      Whew! My honest opinion...this sounds like way too many humectant-rich products to have hair that last. The Camille Rose leave-in is not needed if you are going in with a humectant-rich gel like UFD AND Big Poppa. Your hair may be super sticky and feel like it will never "dry" or it will easily get reactivated by outdoor elements.

    • @najeebasheer9093
      @najeebasheer9093 3 роки тому

      I’ve since dropped the big papa. But the UFD without the honey leave-in, is just not as pretty results. I don’t use very much of the honey leave-in though which is why it doesn’t dry sticky. It does take pretty much all day to dry though, but the wash in go lasts about five days. Very soft hold which I prefer. The only thing I don’t like is my hair is foamy when I’m finished so I can’t just leave the house right after styling.

      Hello! According to the cosmetologists at See Some Curls/Black Girl Curls, henna won’t take to a wash-and-go: the coloring process of henna doesn’t allow moisture (water) to penetrate your strands, so a wash-and-go will always turn out badly. You either need to wait until the henna grows out, or do a big-chop.

    I never thought about applying the curly magic outside of the shower because my hair really won't last more than 4-5 days sometimes. Maybe it's something with my application. I'm going to try doing it on not soaking soaking wet hair cuz I be in the shower dipping my head under the shower and its dripping with water. Sometimes I think I'm rinsing the product out. Because when i went to my cut it kinky stylist she put the curly magic in my hair and then added water from a nozzled bottle. So it wasn't dripping, she added just enough water for it to really be held in there. so maybe im adding too much water. my curl maintenance appointment is on next Sunday so i will be sure to ask her about this. loveeeee your videos and love love your hair! when i went to my stylist for the first time i showed her like 5 of your pictures because I wanted your hair cut lol!
