Best girl of Persona 5 hands down. A total dork, hammy in shogi (to the point she sounds like a Yu-Gi-Oh character), but very sweet and actually humble and down to earth otherwise.

But damn pissed off romanced Ann by end of game..and too familiar what happened with my romanced Rise in Persona 4 I 'm still getting over in this game. Ann at least I had reason to choose her first this time from my first Persona breakup in last game romanced with Yukiko then. Didn't repeat in Ann's case to get over my first game breakup this time. So moving on now from that trouble, maybe I am better off with Yu-Gi-Oh girl mine now. Like Yukiko in last game, cus' lets face it I got soft spot for cute girls with quiet demeanor usually mean fire in her her soul I'm glad to have again in Persona 5. Hiifumi's absolutely wife material I'm glad picked in long run through game. Cute, quiet, yet sweet and absolutely fierce my Persona 5 girl like Yukiko in last game. Although I could do without hysterical laugh like from Teddy's glasses Hahaha [Snort] over and again probably until hiccups. But eh still cute and fire heart like my girl now. And video don't call my current girl idiot no better telling women that in real life kicks a--happens every time with angry women. And I'm sorry to say so MEN ARE SO CHEAP in regards to relationship I don't dare for my woman. And I don't just mean mine from Persona 5 I wish I had in real life. lol
She (Imo) has the second most useful social link skills.
She is top tier for sure. She and Shinya have very good skills, probably because they help with battles other than not being your party members.
Tho I never really never used the gun skills as much(I gotta try them). Kawakami has the best skills all around for any playthrough.

exactly after a long day grinding or doing request in mementos, to come home to a massage that gives you back your evening to do whatever you wish. Plus she does laundry,make curry,make coffee,makes tool, and let you slack in class. Clearly if she isn't a top waifu then at the very least she deserves a Nobel Prize.
One of my favorite abilities is Chihaya's Affinity Reading. By giving you points in a confidant without spending time, it helps you avoid having to waste free time hanging out with confidants rather than gaining ranks with them, enabling you to unlock all *their* abilities. The only downside is that you have to go all the way up to Rank 7 to unlock it.

Honestly, they should just skip a re-release of Persona 5 and just make a straight up, direct sequel where Akria's teammates except for Morgana are all kidnapped by the new villain and he has to put together a new team to rescue them. Hifumi should definitely be on that team.
My main question when it comes to hifumi being a party member is what her outfit, persona and weapons would be. I feel she'd be the type to have alot of SP or learn alot of buff and debuff skills. idk

Velvet Room Games I would expect something samurai-ish for costume and persona, or some sort of old military look. group-wide buff skills and maybe recovery skills for getting rid of debuffs seem likely. Or she could just be a navigator/support like futaba.

Hifumi was originally going to be a party member but was demoted to a Confidant because the story was big already. Which could explain why her skills are so useful. it's a shame too because I would say she is more interesting than Haru but I guess since they can't have two..."cool characters" (Makoto) they just made her a Confidant. But I really liked her Confidant and would like to see more of her. very enjoyable Confidant.

The Bright Cube the sad part is, haru's character arc is interesting if you do her social link. i thought she was meh at first, but after her social link i see her in a much better light. only if she had more screen time

I felt bad for Hifumi's situation. It wasn't as depressing as Futaba's, but Hifumi was relatable to my personal experience growing up. When my dad left the Navy I was given the option to stay in Japan with a foster family, but in middle school I started competing on the national level in kendo. I guess my foster father tried live out his dream vicariously through me the same way Hifumi's mom did her. My situation wasn't as bad but being known as Gaijin Renshi kind of sucked.
I kind of want Hifumi to be added as a party member for future DLC, I'd love to see her cut loose with a naginata.
And what would her range weapon will be then...i think it will be a bow(Yumi)..you know it fits perfectly with her yamato nadeshiko look and what you say's her melee a naginata..
She was originally meant to be a party member, but was relegated to just being a confidant due to the massive length of the game as it was. So you may just get your wish~...

This probably doesn't have any right to be posted on here, but did anyone else think that Shiho Suzui would have made an awesome confidant and possibly phantom thief? Like, her confidant could be helping her get back on her feet and comfortable at school after her suicide attempt. idk, but the scene with her and Joker meeting in the hallway and having that little talk with each other made me really like her character and it's kinda sad that the last we saw of her was in Ann's confidant. I think she would have been such an interesting character to explore.
Best girl, she is the star after all.

She's my favorite girl. Best waifu without a doubt. So beautiful and gracious, also sharp minded and very kind. It was love at first sight. Also, she was going to be a party member. Shame she didn't become one, I would rather have had her instead of Futaba. Her story is pretty interesting and her skills are among the most useful. I'd say Ohya is the worse confidant, both for skills and story.
Oh, and Yusuke is gay.

At 3:42, I think the phrase you're looking for is "living vicariously through."
As for Hifumi, she's definitely an interesting character, with the rigged matches being a nice twist that turns the confidant on its head. She's definitely one of the better non-party confidants, even if she doesn't quite have what it takes to be an actual party member without being substantially rewritten (her mother's too minor and unrelated to the plot to be a Palace target, and you don't see Hifumi interacting with many people besides the protagonist.)
Hifumi has an interesting relationship with her mother, particularly the conflict between her loyalty to her family and her desire to be a shogi player. It's nice that in the end, she takes responsibility for everything, and doesn't even blame her mother for the fixed matches and resulting damage to her reputation.
Regarding Christmas and Valentine's day, while it's sad that the protagonist has to go back home, it's heartwarming that all the confidants are fine with a long distance relationship, especially since they'd already dealt with you spending 2 months in juvenile detention (which could potentially have lasted years if your party hadn't found the woman you saved).
I actually liked Mamoru from P3. His link has a bittersweet ending in which he gives up going to college and doing track to care for his family, and it's a nice look at what it means to make sacrifices for those you care about.

Kawakami is better imo, but Hifumi is second on the list.
Hifumi imo has some of the most useful confidant skills across the table. just the ability to swap teammates midfight alone is powerful in itself.
Easily one of the best confidants in the game.
Hifumi is best girl. I think her overt passion for shogi is admirable and adorable, I would learn to play shogi just so I could be a dork with her, if only that were an option in P5. I mean, more than it already technically is!
There is a rumor about an updated version of Persona 5 in development, and the rumor says Hifumi will be implemented as a party member as she was originally meant to be.

I love that her dialog while playing chess sounds like a metal gear plot half of the time
it kinda makes me wish for future dlc where you can recruit max ranked confidants to be party members (with no impact on the story of course). but then comes the issue of designing costumes and personas for everyone.

I am currently going through my first playthrough and decided to move my romance allegiance to her because.
1. I appreciate a pretty girl who embraces her dorkieness.
2. If I where in the Joker’s position (I named him Arthur Jones for my playthrough) I would probably pick a girl outside my immediate friend group because in my experience romance in friend groups cause issues.
3. I decided to commit during the Hawaii part because the whole breaking away from the friend group to meet up with a girl they don’t know seemed kinda romantic to me. It’s kinda like my character has a life outside of the Phantom Thieves that they don’t know about. Lol

Come to think of it though, Every game where I have to pick a romantic interest it's always someone I have an initial impression of "Eh probably not." Her Rank 7 which doubles your money after an ambush if you win in 1 round is AMAZING and utterly useless if you get Ryuji to Rank 7+ since his deeply stupid, poorly designed skill NEGATES Hifumi's Rank 7 (by Ryuji forever eliminating combat started with Ambush). I Rank stupid Ryuji to Rank 6 early game, then to 10+ toward the end of the game, mainly so I can rake in on Hifumi's Rank 7!.

Strange how we never even see Hifumi and Yusuke meet up and interact once, I mean they go to the same school. Literally, the only person outside Akira to interact with her is Makoto (which honestly made for a good conversation. Two of the most popular love interests meet).
i mean I could be thinking as a "crack ship" but the stories she did seemed pretty artistic and how she got into her "calling out her attacks" and how people possibly saw it as weird,
Hifumi is the new Chidori for me.
My favorite use of the ambush skill is combining the fortune's money reading which doubles money gain in battle when you end a battle with a AOA so I can get quadruple the money earned. It made money grinding much easier
Maybe you should try separating the ability grade and the story grade for future confidants.
