Nice commemorative build, details and paint job 👌 👍
Excellent restoration on the Mk1 Ford Cortina , lm sure your friend will be chuffed with it. I think it would've made a nice Lotus Cortina with a green stripe 😉 👍
Very smart restoration Luke ,nice touch with the new wheels all the best Martin
A lovely restoration!! Well done!!❤🎉
First car I ever drove on my own, though a four door: 54 years ago on a beach in Wales!
I doubt I was doing more than 20mph, but on the ripples, it felt like Land Speed record stuff!
Very good motors, those Fords, and a brilliant gearbox: you could still drive them without a clutch!
Your resto has brought back, as you can see, a load of happy memories, so thanks for that.
Sweet result! I need to look out for one of these to sort in my Dad's car colours! I was planning to paint and varnish something today - temperatures were right at 42C, but humidity was crippling, so no chance.
Another great video very enjoyable great restoration thanks
Beautiful restoration looks amazing well done 👍.
Great work Luke, keep it up with the verbals, all the best, bob in oz.

Lovely job mate, that’s restoration on a another level,I enjoy watching your videos, seen them all now,my only crib is the music on some of your uploads drives me mad but mate that’s just my opinion it doesn’t detract from me enjoying them nevertheless and in this particular video it’s great to hear your tips etc on doing this resto
Peace from Ireland
I like the original patina look.
Yeah I know restoration ain't for everyone, but this car was a build for a friend his dad had the same car in white, so that's how I done it. Thanks for your comment👍
Another fabulous restoration Luke cheers Michael
Hi Luke that’s a great restoration there , as a new comer to this your doing a brilliant job
@@Diecastoutlaw no worries
Lovely restoration, Luke!
That ‘side repeater’ on the passenger side was a rectangular Ford badge on the 1963 Ford Consul Cortina Super two-door saloon ("Mark 1") and the Ford Cortina Lotus.
My uncle Jim had a Mk 1 Cortina. I remember being really young and we all went on a picnic in his car with my aunt and mum and dad.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Ford badge was only fitted on the nearside front wing - the side that people walking by would normally see! Cost cutting at it's best!
An interesting conversion would have been to a Lotus Cortina and judging by your masking skills the green stripe would have spot on!
Thank you for your kind comment I've got another mk1 and will be doing a lotus replica very soon cheers👍
Proper job Luke, nicely presented video, clean bench, clean tools and you come across as someone who knows what he's doing, subbed.
Hi from Leeds😊 Yet again you've hit this one out the ball park, great restoration of the MK1 Cortina, love the detailing, you do, the added wheel details brings the car to life, btw have you considered using liquid mask for the harder masking jobs ? It works a treat , again lovely restoration, cant wait to see your next build 😊
Very nice Michael, I'm sure your friend will be very pleased with how it turned out.
Nice one, buddy.you'll be pleased to know,i've now subscribed.keep them coming.
Thank you much appreciated 👍
Great restoration.
Nice size casting , with opening doors .
Very cool 😎.
Beautiful finish .
Mike
I never knew that about the push in rivets 👍 love that model . I have one I did as a lotus with the jeweled front & back lights . Might do a wheel change looking at yours much better than originals . Iv looked at green light wheels before but so expensive for what they are .
Look's great and love the wheels....may i ask where you got them from please as need 4 sets with tyres.
That was a Badge it use to be on that car
Yeah I know now, didn't know at the time as it was only on 1 side 🙃
Nice video mate, very enjoyable to watch, could you let me know what masking tape you use, all the best Rob London boy
Yeah it's 3m 3434 thanks for your kind comment much appreciated 👍
