- in this video, I restored a corgi toys land rover series 1 109. I start by removing the base plate and wheels. I use a sand blaster to remove 3 old layers of paint. the casting needed some repairs to the window hinge and hole in bonnet. I prep the casting with files and sand paper. I respray the casting in a metallic green. I mixed myself and finished with 2k clear lacquer. I fitted new wheels and tyres just to enhance the end effect. thank you all for your support, and as always, I look forward to your comments. I hope you enjoy the video and the finished result. Thank you all for watching 👀
cheers luke

You are the best brother...
Thanks for your kind comment my friend 👍
Love it! I have done two of these: one had been chromed and was so badly pitted, it needed to remain as a skanky farmer's hack. It is an odd casting, the Corgi Land Rover - originally a Series 1, 107" wheelbase, it suddenly became a 109! It looks like a Series2 now, but has 2a or Series 3 sills and a 2 grille. The roof is a Series 1 107: 2's and 3's had a curved top to the pickup (or single cab). No matter - your metallic paint and alloy wheels look the part and the green is just right. I really like the weathered look on the canvas tilt! Altogether, a model wholly worthy of the Code3 badge. Good job, Sir!
Thank you fraser, yeah definitely bit of a hybrid casting, I really enjoyed restoring this one, mr dares send me a glass unit, as the new one is shockingly bad. Thank you my friend 👍

Beautifully done, Luke. May i suggest that you could use the original window unit you have and cut the side with the crack out and make it an open window look. Cheers Michael

Good thinking Michael. That didn't even cross my mind. Thanks mate 👍
