I am a maximalist as well. By car I carry 2 bags. One has all my toiletries, hair appliance(s), brushes, and can even pack 3 pairs of shoes, too! The other one carries my clothes, jewelry pouch and meds. On the plane I just stick to one bag with my purse or backpack. Great video, Marnie!
I became a carry-on only girl when we started traveling frequently to the UK. A lot of trains, cobblestones, and a plethora of stairs will cure your need for stuff. Lauries travel tips are a game changer. Love her ❤

I also was not a carry on girl until I started watching Travel Tips with Laurie. The last 3 airline trips were carry on and it’s so liberating! Checking in bags just made me overpack. I’m a carry on convert!

Very helpful and fun video! Just wanted to share that I bring the travel hangers to help dry wet swimsuits after the hotel pool/beach. There is never anywhere to hang up adult or kids swimsuits and rash guards in hotel bathrooms.
The best travel item I have added in the past few years is an Air Tag for each checked bag, especially for international travel. It is so nice to be able to check and make sure your bag actually got on the plane. Also, if your bag does not make it you can watch the progress as you wait for it. It does happen occasionally!

Always love your recs, but have to say on the Kushi makeup bag: You can open my drawer and find more than a dozen makeup bags, all super cute and NONE of them cost $69. OMG. That's just absurb for a little makeup bag that other brands give out for free. Just had to comment on that, but still love most everything you recommend. You've helped me gain cred with my 3 glamorous daughters (I'm 63) and even my son, who I just outfitted to go off to college. Thanks Marnie!

Yes I would! I have gone on to purchase it as a gift for others as well. It's a bag you're going to buy once and never replace. It also has features that include an add on snap in brush holder. And for people that like to shop at Nordstrom a lot, they can use points/notes to purchase it too.

This is so timely. My husband and I rarely go anywhere overnight, unless it’s to the hospital, but we have two out of state trips planned in the next 6 weeks.
I have a personal preference for luggage for hospital stays (that are not hard-sided) just because space is severely limited.
I do have one hard-sided case that we will probably use on the two trips.
I have fallen out of the practice of constant preparedness as my husband’s health has improved.
All that to say…I filled my Amazon cart while watching the video. I love being organized but seldom am. Having the appropriate chargers and enough outlets is vital wherever you go.
You and other influencers have opened my eyes to the many, many answers there are to just about any question. Most aren’t that expensive and will last for years.

I use the 2 sided pill case for smaller earrings. 1 pair each or 2. they don't get smooshed!! Also love my car charger adapter with the retractable wires!!! You influenced me❤❤❤

Just ordered the shave stix to try for the first time that is a a great idea for travel! Thanks! The Bagsmart travel bags are amazing love mine! Wish they would come out with brighter colors or patterns. The travel steamer is sis is good I use mine all the time and recommend to everyone.
I just flew from Nashville to Reagan in DC on SW and that plane had both usb and usc plugs in the seat back! My other legs did not have the plugs.

I love the folding steamer. But it is not allowed on Cruise Ships. I looked it up for my upcoming NCL Cruise this coming September. Just wanted to mention it for anyone wanting to order one that is traveling on a Cruise Ship.
Steamers or irons are not allowed on cruises ever.
Went to Vegas for a few days and used the travel steamer many times during the trip! It's really powerful for being small. It does weigh a little more than I would like but it's not a deal breaker. And for anyone interested in it, just be aware that you will need to depress the steam button the entire time you are using it. It's pretty simple though, since you're holding the handle anyway. Great buy!
I’m so glad I use castor oil for everything evening skin care. My sunblock is the Australian gold tinted cream, and it works as makeup.

Those are big toiletries bags! I decant into tiny pots and contact lens cases (plenty for a week) and use a pencil case.

Dr put me on thyroid meds too, but I googled what the thyroid needs and just eat foods that have those elements, nori and pumpkin seeds were a key foods because it has iodine and potassium, iron, and magnesium. BTW, tested numerous times and no more meds needed.

Another wonderful video Marnie! I have the Nordstrom cashmere wrap, do you find that it sheds onto black clothing? I hesitate to travel with mine because of that. Love the makeup bag, I am considering that purchase. I am not a light packer, I always pack those “just in case” items 😂 I will seriously have to rethink that mindset as next year we are traveling all through Europe for 6 weeks for our 45th wedding anniversary. My husband and I travel to Europe for a month at a time with hard case carry-ons and another smaller soft sided carry-on attached to the handles. The two smaller cases would equal a larger case but are far easier on our backs because they are lighter. I'm not a back-pack person especially because it tags you as a tourist which you don't want travelling overseas.
