@EliseRoseCrochet Hi! Hannah is my daughter, and she was SO EXCITED that you used her idea and gave her a shout-out! 😁🌞👍 I sent the link to several family and friends, and they were so tickled because they know she's self-taught and how much she loves crocheting. ❤️ Thank you for making her day! 👍🥰 P.S. Michael's is Hannah's "happy place!" 😂
You need to make a frog out of the glow in the dark yarn Thank your husband for his great sense of humor and help. He's been awesome for playing along for our entertainment
@@JustWriter The Lion Brand website has a pattern for a pillow with an alien face on it for this yarn! I got some and I'm looking for the right pattern for "potion bottles," where I'll use plain yarn for the top of the bottle and the glow yarn for the bottom so the "liquid" in the bottle has a spooky glow. Gonna make cool decorations for Halloween.
Can we again just point out how completely adorable Elise & Hubby are? His eyes actually "sparkled" when he was talking about the yarns! Very fun video
Elise, the last one, Wool Ease Thick and Quick, in that very color way………I just spent some time with my 25 year old nephew at my parents in Kansas. He’s came from Virginia and Intraveled from Colorado. He asked me to help him re-learn crochet from 13 years ago. We went to Joann’s and he chose that very yarn. We went back to Joann two more times then he went again the day after I left. He made the longest classy scarf and he was very focused and obsessed with crocheting. When he got back to Virginia, he had two scarves. He had flight issues so he had airport time and airplane time to be crocheting. His parents are very impressed!
This was so much fun to watch. FYI, Lion Brand has a newer glow in the dark yarn called FIY Glow Cozy. I've used it to make mini ghosts for my kids. It's made like a soft rope so it doesn't have that scratchy feel.
Lol not me panicking thinking he was going to get you the scrubby yarn after the video saying how it was no bueno for you. 😂😂. He knows you so well. What a keeper!
That was really fun, Elise! Do it again at a different store. Your number one pick surprised me…And your hubby was really cute!!! Also did a better than average job selecting yarn. Approved!3❤❤❤😂
also the yarns you were calling tweed are actually marled yarns where strands of different colours are spun together! tweed is when the yarn has little flecks like the pink confetti yarn you liked
@@EliseRoseCrochet I love how he said he didn't know what he was doing but I think being around you and your craft for so long, he's picked up a lot of know-how without even trying, lol.

I enjoyed this video, thank you! I’ve made a whole baby blanket set, large size, car seat size and bunny lovey for my niece when she was born with the loops and threads flecks, and never again! The final product is absolutely gorgeous, and my niece still adores the blankets and bunny, but the splitting was a huge problem, and after you frog anything, it becomes worse, it drove me up the wall. Truly beautiful effect though!!
This was so much fun to watch. I liked hearing what qualities you were looking for in each yarn. I think this will help make me more selective when buying yarn and it makes me want to test the yarn in my stash.

And according to your reactions, he chose some gems! This challenge has been interesting and I'D REALLY LIKE to see you use the glow in the dark yarn! I know I don't comment much but I'm learning slowly about all the types of yarn thanks to you!
I knew immediately what the flecks yarn was. I crocheted my very first sweater with that same yarn in that color. Definitely very splitty and do not frog! I made it a short sleeve sweater because I ruined a skein by frogging too much and I was too frustrated to keep working with it. But I love the sweater it made.
Hi Elise and right now I am working on my cottage core mosaic blanket and granny squares blanket and butterfly mosaic blanket and I love your channel and your videos and if you keep making videos I will keep watching them and what is your favorite crochet project to work on right now and favorite types of yarn to used when crocheting and keep up the great work on your UA-cam channel and keep up the great work on your crochet projects
I'm in love with glow in the dark yarn! I buy it throughout the year and crochet wrist bands, scarves and sashes to give to kiddos to wear while trick or treating. The best use for that is safety!
I LOVE cloud cakes! Honestly, is there anything softer? I made the Riverbed Cardi using a macchiato cake, but I used one that is in fall colors and I loved working with it. I thought that scrubby yarn was eyelash yarn! I love the sparkle it has. Michael's has so many beautiful yarns in their Loops and Threads line. Flecks is adorable! This video was fun! What did you think of the glow in the dark yarn?
There is nothing softer than those cloud cakes!!!!! 🧶 And the glow in the dark had a "crunchy" texture like it was a treatment to make it glow in the dark. It could be fun to use for small projects! ❤️
When you showed the yarns together without the ball bands, I instantly thought of Susan Kennedy’s (of Pretty Peaceful Crochet) Artisian Market Baskets.
@@EliseRoseCrochet It looks a bit lighter. Could just be the lighting. I definitely prefer to hold the scratchy yarn with a strand of cotton. Otherwise I can’t see the stitches very well. Wouldn’t it be cute to make a child’s hat with that day glow yarn?
Elise, your husband is absolutely adorable and amazing! He picked out some absolutely stellar yarn picks. I would love to see more of you two together. Couple goals!
That was entertaining! I knew one was a Caron cake but I would have said the wrong type. I got one of the Loops and Threads right but that's it. Thanks for the laughs!
Fun video! So nice of your husband to help. You two are such a cute couple. My husband would probably do that for me. He's worn hats to work and helped me sell some that way. I have a great hubby too. Celebrating 30 years married this month. I might have to break my yarn ban and get some of that glow-in-the-dark and make a pillow.
Tons of respect for you and your husband. My husband hasn't been into a grocery store in the 33 years we have been married. If he goes to his mother's house a state away, he'll go to Walmart. a long time ago I made a quilt for my son, the back was all black and I used glow in the dark thread for the quilting. I'm thinking I might need to get the glow in dark green yarn for a pillow for him.
This was such a fun video to watch, I definitely think you should do more like this one. It’s like a surprise for all of us and a yarn review all in one! ❤plus you and your hubby are too cute!! 🥰
I Love love your videos! We think alike. Your hubby is 🔥. Great couple. Don't have Furls hooks yet. They may be uncomfortable to long. Unsure until I try them.
That was so much fun! I used that beautiful blue/purple Cloud Cake yarn to crochet a bunch of hydrangeas and it worked out great. I agree it takes some getting used to because it’s not the easiest to feel your stitches, but the end result was so pretty.
Thank you so much for the Craftsy link - I immediately signed up, breaking my no-spend, but really - when would I get such a great deal again? I have to say that the glow in the dark yarn is amazing for how truly it glows; one of the glowiest of glowing anything I think I’ve ever seen.

It was fun to see you use all those different yarns. I’ve used many of them but the flecked yarn has been a favorite of mine. I’ve made many shawls and as of right now the fleck yarn one is the only one I have kept for myself.
Loved this video!! I work at Michael’s so this was especially fun because I work with this yarn regularly. Great video and I love the team work from you and hubby. 💕
Elise, this was so fun! Your hubby was so adorable and a good sport. I also enjoyed learning about some new yarn brands that would be fun to try. Thanks so much!
Caron Cloud Cakes is my favourite yarn. It just feels so good in the hands, makes lovely soft fabric, and comes in lots of lovely colourways. It makes me wish I knew more babies to make blankies and hats for!
People were hinting & asking to make a video like this,& looks like u had to give em what they wanted, lol!! Turns out it was a great idea,& so fun! We should all try this.❤❤
I didn’t think I would like this video but watching you logic which yarn it is and giving your thoughts is so fun!!! I can’t wait to see what you picked out
Just entered the giveaway! I've been looking at the Furls hooks for a while, but they're just too far outside my budget so this is a great opportunity! Thank you!! This was such a fun video idea! I'm usually so picky about my yarn that I can't imagine letting someone else pick yarn for me and then working with it with no info!
Beginner crochet-er here! This video was entertaining! Could u recommend a nice "heathered" neutral colored yarn to make a blanket for my college son , something soft n washable, maybe a cotton blend? Thank u!
I know that scrubby yarn since I have the exact color & brand lol That type of yarn I've only ever seen made by Red Heart or Loops & Threads when going into Joanne's or Michael's. Just got it last month. I love the sparkly scrubby yarn bc it works up nicer/easier, and it's much prettier. But I've worked with this type of yarn for like 8 yrs now so it's nothing for me. My aunt send my a box of like 50 skeins from Korea 15 yrs ago and still got a goot amount still left. Got even more by purchasing in person/online, or gifted to me lol
I'm so glad he picked the glow yarn! I have been so curious about it! I have seen some videos of lightning bug amigurumi made with this and they were adorable!
That’s a fun test! I test myself that way when I buy bulk grab bags of yarn from my favorite Salvation Army! Most have labels, but a few don’t. Then it’s a fun hunt on Ravelry to find out what I have!
@@EliseRoseCrochet😂 Just a small tip-freeze the yarn for as long as you can to kill any hitch-hikers. 😮 I’ve never run into any, but it’s still good practice. A friend ended up with a swarm of moths from thrifted yarn. Eeewww! 😱 We have a large freezer in our basement.
I love this, I love how well he chose and how hard it was to guess. I often get yarn surprises from my dh and they are always things I would never have thought of but love. I thought your favourite looked amazing worked up, again, I would never have even looked at that. Mind blown. Also do not get out much.
This was great!! Video idea: I would love if you would guess cheap vs expensive yarn!! Same kind of concept where someone gets you the yarn without the labels, and you guess! P.S, I love videos like this, so thank you for including these types of challenges!

Very good idea!!! 🧶🧶🧶
Loved this video!! I work at Michael’s so this was especially fun because I work with this yarn regularly. Great video and I love the team work from you and hubby. 💕
I absolutely love Caron cloud cakes...😂 So much fun! Thank you 😊
That is the softest yarn ever!!! 🧶🧶🧶
We need a part 2!
Such a fun video, great to watch. Love the interaction between you and your husband.
I saw the cutest ghost walking a dog pattern with that glow yarn. It is small and adorable! you should make that one.
Oh how adorable!!! 👻🐶
That was fun. Wish my hubby would be up for that.
I hope so too!! ❤️
would love for you to do this again with a whole new set of yarns. Maybe from another store or even the same store. Loved hearing what you thought.
Thank you!! Great suggestion! 🧶🧶🧶
What a FUN idea!!! * settles in to watch *!☺️🫶🏻🧶🧡☕️
GREAT JOB, Hubs!!! 🩷
Hope you enjoy it! ❤️❤️❤️
Haha!! I am such a control freak that this was stretching me in so many ways!! 🤣🤣🤣
Beginner crochet-er here! This video was entertaining! Could u recommend a nice "heathered" neutral colored yarn to make a blanket for my college son , something soft n washable, maybe a cotton blend? Thank u!
My mind is blanking right now!!! I hope someone else can give you a good recommendation!! 🧶🧶🧶
Oh wow!!! 🧶🧶🧶
You should for sure do more of these!!! This was fun!
Am I blind? I can’t see the place to enter the giveaway 😢
Ooh! That does sound fun!!! 🧶🧶🧶
Never mind…found it. Entered. 😬
You may need to refresh the video since I forgot to add the link originally. It's there in the description box! 📦

Just a small tip-freeze the yarn for as long as you can to kill any hitch-hikers. 😮 I’ve never run into any, but it’s still good practice. A friend ended up with a swarm of moths from thrifted yarn. Eeewww! 😱 We have a large freezer in our basement.
So fun to watch😄
Thank you! ❤️
I love this, I love how well he chose and how hard it was to guess. I often get yarn surprises from my dh and they are always things I would never have thought of but love. I thought your favourite looked amazing worked up, again, I would never have even looked at that. Mind blown. Also do not get out much.
This was so much fun. Love how your husband gets involved. Great video. 😊
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 🧶🧶🧶
This was a lot of fun to watch. Now I want my husband to do the same thing!
It really is fun to do!!! 🧶🧶🧶
Hannah suggested a great idea for a video. This was really fun and enjoyable to watch! I hope you do more of these in the future!
I immediately recognized the cloud cake! I made a cardigan with it, its so soft!!
I can't get over how soft that yarn is!! 🧶🧶🧶
This was great!! Video idea: I would love if you would guess cheap vs expensive yarn!! Same kind of concept where someone gets you the
yarn without the labels, and you guess! P.S, I love videos like this, so thank you for including these types of challenges!
Your hubby is such a trooper. Just found your channel and I am really enjoying it. 😊
Great challenge❤❤❤❤ thanks to your husband. You have found some new yarns to play with.😊😊
