this orchestra is epic, they dont always have the same conductor but musicians are usually the same, if you hear to other pieces from them you can clearly see theyre one of the best (if not the best) orchestra in the world today, they are just great
It's so refreshing to watch a reaction to this music from someone who is emotionally involved and has an insight into the movie. I remember my dad letting me stay up late to watch this on TV and was blown away, he is no longer with us but it was a great memory. I later found out that filming started on the day I was born. Thank you for this.
I spoke to one of these musicians after one of their other movie music-concerts. Movies scores generally aren't very complicated to play compared to classical music. The biggest thing for the musicians is the reaction from the audience. It is very different from a classical audience. The movie-audience emmits an energy and a joy, that goes directly into the hearts of the musicians ❤❤❤
And Ennio Morricone visited Denmark with a smaller Orchestra about a year before he died! I could have wished for him to have experienced this performance and to become acclaimed on the Stage.
No other way to describe this performance other than epic m8! Morricone was a legend and The Danish National Symphony really did this justice. Love all of their other film and TV theme concerts as well. Would love to see them live some day.
Beautiful version of Ennio Morricone's masterpiece. He was the grand master of the italo-western score. Also for many crime and drama movies. Outstanding songwriter. R.I.P. Maestro Morricone
WOW!!! You got me with this in the first few minutes! I saw this when it came out back when I was a kid with my cousins at the movies. You started your reaction and within the first few minutes I had such a rush of emotions. Such a haunting musical score.
This music does the same to me. I just love movies and the cinematic experience and when it comes together with epic music like this... its just magic.
Your reaction is, just... i can´t explain, because i have some of the same feelings. I cried when i saw this a few years ago. I am a dane and this movie, along with others, defined my youth. So the Danish National Symphony is from my home land, and I am proud that I am from the same country as this orchestra. A fantastic tribute to Enio an Sergio. Thanks for your reaction.
The latest count gives an absurd number of times this Concert has been watched. 148 mill. times! Ennio Morricone gave a Concert with a smaller orchestra in Copenhagen about a year before he died. I could have wished for him ro have been present by this, with a full Orchestra.
Thanks so much Saeed for checking for your great reaction to this. Its such a wonderful collaboration of talented musicians coming together to recreate this classic soundtrack. A fistful of dollars and a few dollars more are also brilliant by this orchestra. I also love movie soundtracks. ‘Any Other Name’ by Thomas Howard is just hauntingly beautiful, pretty much everything by Hans Zimmer gets embedded in my head and, of course, the epic soundtracks of John Williams. James Newton Howard’s score for ‘Signs’ is also fantastic.
Hi Saeed, welcome back. I had to laugh seeing the thumbnail with the 'western hat'. This orchestra is amazing, the music is spot on. I still have a vinyl single I bought around 1969 with this music for 25 cents, I think it was performed by Hugo Montenegro and his orchestra.
First of all, this the third review I am watching now. And thank you for being the first of the three, that actually know and acknowledge both the director and composer. The first review I watched actually said, wow this should be in a movie
That change…’The Ecstasy of Gold’. Tuco hits his head on a tombstone, and beholds a vast cemetery. Gives me chills everytime. The music and the scene of Tuco running like a madman thru the cemetery. As the music rises, the cemetery becomes a blur, you get vertigo as your head spins and your heart races! Epic beyond compare. This performance by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra brings it all back!
hi saeed, i'm italian and tears of emotions and proud flows out my eyes! i think that behind the greatest classic composer of history, Morricone has his sit! Love !!!
The Danish Symphony has done a whole series of concerts dedicated to movie, tv and gaming soundtracks. Loads of great official videos are uploaded on their channel but the full concerts are released on DVD / Bluray. Have almost all of them and they just released a new one called Raiders Of The Symphony. Check out their version of Who Wants To Live Forever (from Highlander) sung by Tuva (the wah-wah lady here), which is just a stunning take on an iconic song.
The lady who sang "wah wah", her name is tuva semmingson, a classically trained singer in her own right, she sings everything from opera to standards to pop. A diva of the 1st class. If you look closely, for this concert she was wearing little six shooter earrings. PERFECT!!! I watched an interview with the two vocalists.Tuva Semmingsen AKA the Wa Wa Lady, as she has been called by the tube, actually likes being called the Wa Wa Lady. She couldn't believe how this performance took off on the tube. Christine Nonbo Andersen is the solo vocalist in the audience. This was her first performance with the Danish National Orchestra. Both ladies nailed their performances and added a stunning element to this Ennio Morricone masterpiece. Ennio Morricone was a composer of film soundtracks, where he used instruments and objects that are not normally used in an orchestral ensemble. Electric guitars, basses, ocarinas, bongos ... but also whips, gunshots, gusts of wind. Entering Morricone's work is a complete immersion. A moving tribute for fidelity down to the smallest details is what the Spaghetti Werstern Orchestra did to him.
Tuva was mentioned as the Wa Wa (wah wah) lady in the program for the Fantasymphony II, love going to these, the orchestra is sublime, the soloists are just out of this world, with the youth choir and the senior one, so much sound I get chills thinking about it.
you look exactly like Clint Eastwood, especially when you're concentrated! damn! can't believe nobody said it before! what a joy to watch a reaction to my favorite music of all time with a man that has the face of the greatest Gunslinger!
Hi Saeed!! This concert is a tribute to Ennio Morricone. Who was a great composer. But this is the best shall we say "cover" of this song and they have several others from him.. I have had the pleasure of seeing the Danish symphony orchestra in real life sevrel times. They usually do a film music concert once or twice a year and always with different themes. Even some in the orchestra can be dressed in thematic characters, nothing big but small details. If you haven't seen a Symphonic Orchestra in real life, I recommend that if you get the chance, take it. You will not regret it. But you'll regret not doing it.
Sergio and Ennio were classmates, but they only realized that when they started working together. My favorite: "Once Upon A Time In America" Movie Theme
Great review !!! I have since learned from watching many reviews of this musical score that the conductor, Sarah Hicks is from the Minneapolis Orchestra. I live in MN and I definitely need to attend one of her concerts. I “borrowed” the following from another person’s review but I think this was some excellent information … “”The conductor here is an American "guest" conductor for this concert. Sarah Hicks is the principal conductor of the Minneapolis Orchestra, graduate Magna Cum Laud with a BA degree in music composition from Harvard University. Sarah is highly sought after as a "guest" conductor the world over and has worked with dozens of orchestras all over the word in both hemispheres. What does a conductor do? In this case Sarah chose all of the music for this concert which centered on Ennio Morricones' Spaghetti Western movies sound tracks. She spent hours studying the entire score, making notes as she went along that she would later share with the musicians during rehearsal, She then rehearsed the Orchestra and choir sharing her vision for the various songs, what the dynamics would be, play softy here, a bit more fortissimo (with force) there, establishing what the tempo will be, applying her leadership to inspire these very "Top Shelf" musicians to project her vision of the music and concert. Sarah does have a series of UA-cam educational videos addressing this very question that you asked: "What does a conductor do?'" She is quite an impressive young lady, very talented and, I feel quite gifted!””
What was beautiful was watching your reaction to this, It's rare to find someone so young that has seen this movie so I was stunned by that! Thank you so much for doing this reaction!
@@SaeedReacts. Oh, Me too, I love old Gene Autry movies, Roy Rogers and things like that, they each had a series too, which are available on the internet if you look! There's Hopalong Cassidy and I could tell you many more if you are interested? From the 1940's and 1950's mostly! So black and white! It's been fun chatting with you and if you ever want to know about early American Cinema ask me anything you want and I'll try to help in any way I can!
This orchestra, every component of it was fantastic. I've watched them do this so many times, I've lost count and loved it every time. I never grow tired of seeing it. And your expression says it all, Saeed!😊 yep, clint started out on a t.v. show called Rawhide, his character was called Rowdy Yates. Funny thing is, he wasn't the main character. From there he started in these type of movies called spaghetti westerns. Long before the Dirty Harry movies.thank you for all your enthusiasm you show with your reactions😊 Hi to you and your family❤
Hallo Saeed, for my Brother and me it is one of the greatest Movies ever made. The Music is fantastic, the Final of this Movie is unbelievabel. This is a masterpiece forever. Greetings from Germany Michael 😊 please go on with your Channel
My personal favorite after this one, is the Witcher Suite they did. Hauntingly Beautiful. It's called "The Witcher 3 - Suite Live With The Danish National Symphony Orchestra" ❤Subbed and Liked. Oh, and One of my favorite movie themes/scores is from "O Brother, Where art Thou" ❤So many unique gems ☺
You need to react to the Symphony's JAMES BOND MEDLEY.....beautiful and will definitely bring tears to your eyes.....enjoy you so much....thanks for doing what you do.
This is amazing. A big fan of the movie. Have watched this countless times and it still gives me chills. The "vocalist" is outstanding 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 😂😂🤠🤠 Love the thumbnail It's so well done that you can visualise exactly where you are in the movie 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I really, really hope that you'll do a reaction to Ennio Morricone's"The Mission". I still think it's one of the most beautiful scores I've ever heard, and not enough people know about it. Even if you've seen the film, hearing the score on its own is a thrilling experience.
You just know some of these folks said, "YES!" when they found out what they'd be performing. In a similar vein, I recommend "Skyrim - The Dragonborn Comes - Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra / Sabina Zweiacker".
Isn't this amazing? I don't know what was used to do the original track, but what a great job these artists did at recreating it, gives me chills, no matter how many times I watch it. Also, it gave me a new respect for the 'recorder' as an instrument I have always hated since primary school, when we were all forced to learn it it and the pain it caused to so many eardrums, lol. ✌❤
This version is one of the best, and like you films like this one are right from my childhood too. The Danish National Symphony do a whole set on Spagehiti Western theme tunes and they are all top class. If you get time you can find them all on youtube. Your reactions were the same as mine, sometimes you can't believe how they do it.
My partner and I are lucky to live in Bielefeld (the birthplace of the early film maker F. W. Murnau) and we have a Music and Film Festival Many of the films are silent masterpieces brought to life by live music accompaniment. I have seen many mnany films with either solo performers on a piano to a modern post-punk band accompanying Soviet films or several great expressionist films from Germany with FULL orchestras We even had the film "The Artist" a modern silent film that won at the Oscars with a full orchestra and the composer at the piano. That filled the concert hall!
I saw Morricone live in his latest concerts, not long before he passed. He was conducting seated because it was probably too diffucult for him to stand during the entire concert. It was is Altice, Lisbon, 2019. He passed a year later...
I recently got some live recordings from the Oliver Onions v who did most of the soundtrack songs for the Bud Spencer and Terence Hill movies, also legendary
Nice reaction video 😊Fun facts. That concert hall cost 1.4 billion Danish kroner, (20,043,139 US$), which exceeded the budget by 250%. 😂 It is built specifically for radio and TV recordings, it is literally one big sound studio. Even the fabric on the chairs has the same resonance as a human, so if there are empty seats (which there never are) you won't be able to hear it. Live close by, been there many times, DNSO are the best orchestra for rendering movie scores and game music, in my opinion❤
Check out the other videos of live concerts by the DNSO of Morricone film music (Once Upon a Time in the West is a MUST), then move onto their performances of other film music (The Godfather, etc, etc) then Video Games (Halo, anyone?), then just ANYTHING...Who Wants to Live Forever..??? 🙂
I guess another trip down childhood memory lane for you could be to search for Superman Theme also by DNSO it totally gave me the chills when I heard it.
morricone is still at his zenith, even though he is dead! and where are those experts, who laughed at film composers and their "frivolous music"? dead and forgotten!
Summary: Eli Wallach is caught by Clint Eastwood, taken to the sheriff, Clint collects the bounty, Eli is convicted and hanged. Clint shoots the hangman's rope and they both run off and share the money. It goes on like this for a while... Shotdown in a cemetery, one of the graves contains a treasure of gold. Towards the end of the film, Clint, Eli and Lee von Cleef face each other - I'll leave the actual ending open... Have fun watching the film again and remembering this fantastic soundtrack...
If you love great lyrics and sad songs try Der Weg from Herbert Grönemeier, its about the lost of his wife which died from breast cancer and a few days before she died he also lost his brother!
Are you familiar with Jerry Goldsmith? I've watched Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Insurrection and Mr. Goldsmith has composed some very beautiful soundtracks for both these movies. One other movie and movie soundtrack I would like to encourage you to listen to and watch is: The Last of the Mohicans. I truly believe you'll love Mr. Goldsmith's music compositions.
Tuva Semminsen can do far more than whistle and go Waa Waa. You should check her out with the DNSO doing Who Wants To Live Forever from Highlander or the vocals in the Halo Trilogy.
Another great Morricone soundtrack is from the 1986 Roland Joffe film "The Mission" (about the role of the Catholic Church in the 18th century colonization by Spain and Portugal of Brazil and environs, with Robert DeNiro and Jeremy Irons). Here he is conducting the theme from that film: ua-cam.com/video/s7w-IeNR9ko/v-deo.htmlsi=wxe_e8ADKqdSH_3x
Great movie orchestra wow what shot don't talk shot
I´m obssesed with this orchestra and choir, Tuva and Christine, WOW just crazy good!
That guitar 🎹 whistling wawa
Whoever arranged this masterpiece deserves an award.

to a modern post-punk band accompanying Soviet films
or several great expressionist films from Germany with FULL orchestras
We even had the film "The Artist" a modern silent film
that won at the Oscars
with a full orchestra and the composer at the piano.
That filled the concert hall!
Thats amazing! Thanks for sharing that.
I saw Morricone live in his latest concerts, not long before he passed.
He was conducting seated because it was probably too diffucult for him to stand during the entire concert.
It was is Altice, Lisbon, 2019.
He passed a year later...
Im glad you still got to see him. A true legend!
Wow! That is a lot of money 😃
Danish SKILLS
My favorite here is the oboe, even though I played violin years ago.
I guess another trip down childhood memory lane for you could be to search for Superman Theme also by DNSO it totally gave me the chills when I heard it.
Thanks for letting me know about that one.
RIP to the musician that screwed up so badly they gave him *THAT* job
I rally laughed when you said Kalimar.. :-)
😄😄😄
morricone is still at his zenith, even though he is dead! and where are those experts, who laughed at film composers and their "frivolous music"? dead and forgotten!
Great point!
what about the next
For A Few Dollars More by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra
If you liked "The Godfather", you should catch their performance of it.
I reacted to it! Amazing!
One of my favourite film scores is Star Trek 2 The Wrath of Khan..but the simplicity of Jaws is hard to beat 🦈
Both great!
You would love The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain performing this.
I like Tuva Semmingsen"s gun earings.
I did not catch that until someone pointed it out. They are awesome!
Towards the end of the film, Clint, Eli and Lee von Cleef face each other -
I'll leave the actual ending open...
Have fun watching the film again and remembering this fantastic soundtrack...
Classic! Must watch all Clint Eastwood's movies again!
Hi, TW At the moment they are in Antwerp. there in Belgium. Is it close to you to go see them?
Antwerp is 1h30 away from me, but just back from vacation so i wont be attending any events for a while.
This is the original arrangment of Ennio Morricone
If you love great lyrics and sad songs try Der Weg from Herbert Grönemeier, its about the lost of his wife which died from breast cancer and a few days before she died he also lost his brother!
I do! Will add that song to my list. Thanks
I have seen all the films you mentioned so i have heard his music, but wasnt familiar with the name. Must check out some of his other work.
Tuva Semminsen can do far more than whistle and go Waa Waa. You should check her out with the DNSO doing Who Wants To Live Forever from Highlander or the vocals in the Halo Trilogy.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Did you check Tuva´s earrings??? guns...these people didn´t miss a thing.
I did not catch it at first until it was pointed out!
I have a crush on the wah wah chick!
I just wish they would start listening to the original score from the movie.........it's time ! Stop the madness....LOL :)
Another great Morricone soundtrack is from the 1986 Roland Joffe film "The Mission" (about the role of the Catholic Church in the 18th century colonization by Spain and Portugal of Brazil and environs, with Robert DeNiro and Jeremy Irons).
Here he is conducting the theme from that film:
