One thing Bantu's have in common is the the fact that our languages have common words and phrases. The word nzala is ondjala in my local dialect oshiwambo which essentially means hunger. Well done my sister🤩!
I've been trying to learn lingála in an effort to get closer to my my dad's side of the family, I've been born and raised in Kenya my whole life and being reunited with them has made me repurpose my communication skills since I learnt Kiswahili is a lot different in Congo ,I've been struggling with learning it but thanks to your channel I'm growing each day one day at a time.

Is mapalé a lingala word? Is a dance from african descendants in my country and I heard it also in a song from jamaicans which practice a religion called kumina, it is a music and religion heritage of congolese in Jamaica.
Hi, thanks for sharing. I have never heard of Mapalé as a word in Lingala. Kumina however does sound like Kobina (Lingala) or Kukina (Kikongo) and they both mean To Dance.
@@CongoTalks243 ua-cam.com/video/OF0fH08XH2w/v-deo.html this video is from Jamaica where kumina is a religion , música and dance, They say several words in Kikongo and in the minute 17:26 the chorus say several times mapalé. Somebody told me that mapalé is the plural of bipale meaning pride, but I want to confirm with you
@@Barrerahaddadariel Bipale is a word yes, but it is already in plural as far as I know. It’s one of those words that are used in plural by default. Mapale could be related to it but I personally haven’t heard of an exact word like that. Maybe someone else knows better than I do 🙂
Hi. Nice. Is it possible to inbox you some sentences in English and their context . So you can advise the Lingala? Good if you are on Facebook.. Best on WhatsApp. I'm resident in Lusaka.
