  • FUN, EASY, EVERYDAY PHRASES IN LINGALA!! LEARN AND IMPROVE YOUR LINGALA IN MUNUTES?
    Hello family!
Today is culture day! I teach you guys fun, easy, everyday phrases in Lingala AKA clean Lingala from the street? Lingala is one of the four (4) National Lnaguages spoken in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). As you all know, I loveee sharing the Congolese culture with you and this video is a step forward in familiarising you guys with the culture. It is important that we promote our culture!! I hope you enjoy and I hope this video inspires you to do your part in changing the image of Africa. As always, your thoughts are welcomed, so feel free to put them down in the comments!

I'm an ESOL teacher in the USA. Most of my students are from Congo Kinshasa or Angola. Yesterday, one of my students was like "Teacher, you speak Lingala!" based on the fact that I sometimes say "yo!" as a greeting and because i know what fufu is. (Because its ny job to know! XD)
So here I am, brushing up on my Lingala! I don't want to let them down! 😭 thank you for your lovely videos!

Mokolo malamu, nazali na motuna. I am unclear on the endings of words in Lingala. Not the tenses: i, ki, ka. The confusion is around these: esa, isa, asa, eli, ana, ela, and others I’ve noticed as I learn more vocabulary. Please make a video, or allow me to verbally explain if you are unclear about the request.

I got interested because I follow the half dutch/half congolese dance group Let It Happen, norah yarah and rosa, whose dad is from the Conga and they live in Maastricht Netherlands. THEY HAVE BLOWN UP. Dad and mom are the managers, agents, etc., they've been twice on the Ellen Show here in Hollywood CA. Now that I found you I am going to check in more often!!! I will also leave a message for their dad Albert Mukanga about you!! THANK YOU AGAIN AND STAY SAFE🥰Arthur

@W. Redburn Lingala is usually spoken with French words inside. It's not really code switching as there's a specific way to speak it, however it's hard to teach it that way because you just have to grow up with it. But when people teach Lingala they're teaching the actual, pure language you see here (as it should be, really).

@W. Redburn That's nice! I never used/heard "sango nini" growing up, it was always "boni/boni bino" "oza bien/oza malamu?" etc. It's good that you're learning the pure way. It's always best to learn a language with the people around you 😊

Taramonique Smith Hi! Yes of course! To say God who gives children in Lingala you say: Nzambe oyo apesaka bana.
      Hope it helps. ❤️

Do you have a phrasebook for Christians? For example:
    - Be healed in Jesus' name.
    - Thank you Father God.
    - We are blessed, have an awesome day.
