  • Since I started a small engine repair service, I've been straight busy working on building a side business and this is one of my first customers I decided to record my work for. He started with one bike but that quickly turned into two when he saw how well I fixed his wife's Harley, so this video is showing the repair process of how I make repairs. stay tuned because I have way more on the way and more to schedule. I'm just waiting on parts.

This was the first time working on a bike like this one, but since the posting of this video I've learned a lot more about these bikes and able to fix them faster. I work on small engines like generators, 4 wheelers, and mowers. Sometimes I'll work on construction equipment so I'm no stranger to engines. This Yamaha was new for me and it helped me learn new things about them. I even told the owner that I haven't worked on these before but he let me service this bike and his wife's Harley Davidson which both are running with no issues. This is why I do videos like this, to help people out and for others to comment and giving their advice as well. Kind of like a forum.

Try changing plugs first then the coil on the bad cylinder… that’s what I did and it worked after about a minute 😮

I need help installing my new kick stand! 2000 Yamaha Road Star 1600. I can't get the spring back on! Help please. :)

      Where are you located?
If I'm not mistaken, the easy way to reconnect the spring is to put the kickstand up and zip tie it in place while the bike is on a lift or have someone hold it up. That way while using needle nose pliers you can use both hands to stretch it back into place.

I am in Kalamazoo, MI. I'm going to look for a spring that stretches easier. This one will not stretch unless you are superman !!!! I also have one weakened arm from breaking my arm last September. The zip tie is a good idea. I'll try the needle nose pliers thing. Thank you. @@svcruza

I used needle nose vice grips along with the zip tie to get the job done. If you lived closer I'd be glad to help.
