On my roadstar 1600 the wiring that goes from outside the cover to the inside that is attached to the actual stator, those rubber grommets that seat against the housing to the actual bike are kind of chewed up and causing oil to leak from it. Will I need to replace the whole stator or I see on ebay they sell what's a pickup. Not sure where it bolts up to though if that's all I need and not a whole other stator
Sir thank you for your comment on that piece of rubber that's chewed up and you having a oil leak that is probably the wires for the stator either replace the stator and all or you can clean the area real good with carburetor cleaner and put silicone pack silicone in that rubber maybe that will help you that's the only other way I know that you can possibly stop that leak without having to replace the stator hope this helps you thank you for your comment
I'm working on same Roadstar. Discovered same loose bolt. The diagram shows a key and the flywheel has a slot for it but the shaft doesn't have a key way slot. A small magnetic piece fell out when pulled the cover off. Assumed it was a destroyed key. So your starter clutch is functional now just by Impact 115lbs on bolt? I Sspect bolt will loosen again.
Should have removed 3 starter clutch bolts and replaced with new while in there...using red loctite and peen the ends. Also main bolt should have blue loctite and 100-115 lb/ft
my bike is fixed now! youre the MAN!!!!
Thank a lot from Russia👍♠️Nice musical taste dude🍻
Thank you sir for your comment 👍
For my starter I did a bolt up and saved money😅 thanks from Texas.
