The Yamaha XV1600A is a cruiser-style motorcycle. It is also called the Yamaha Road Star or in Europe the Yamaha Wild Star. It has been produced from 1999 through model Year 2014 when the Roadstar model line was discontinued. The 1999-2003 models were the same 1602 cc naturally aspirated engines. And in 2004 they changed the displacement to 1,670 cc. With a few design changes in 2004, including new tubeless aluminum wheels, a skinnier drive belt and different engine casing color. The Road Star also has a sleeker, sportier brother called the Yamaha Road Star Warrior that had a fuel-injected 1,700 cc engine and had an all-aluminum chassis. The Road Star remained unchanged until 2008 when electronic fuel injection was introduced to the bike. There were certain variations to the Road Star considering different trim and equipment packages. The Road Star was available with a Silverdo trim package which included studded saddle bags, a back rest, studded driver and passenger seats, and a cruiser-style windscreen. The Silverado package changed names to the "Midnight" package with blacked out engine etc. For a few years, the Road Star was also available in an "S" package, which meant more chrome pieces for the buyer.
The Road Star is very popular among "Metric" custom bike builders for its ease of customization and large-displacement engine.

I noticed that you kept the windshield mount on. Does the windshield still fit (for highway driving) over those stereo speakers?
Yes it still fits.
left blinker can't be seen from behind?
It can while on the road. Yes.
Hi There killer bike excellent job... just wondering about lowering rear end and front forks thanks.
Sorry, don't recall anymore. We've done so many.....
My first Real big twin 2010 roadstar 1700 FI cobra pipes cane with. How do I get rid of the back firing without any major upgrades?
Easy. Bypass the pair valve system. And ditch the p.o.s. cobra tuner as it's useless.
Buy a power commander and have it dyno tuned. 🔥🔥
Great bike...great job....very classy, modern and classic at the same time !
Just wondering about the air horn you used, where can i get one like you used ? A link would be appreciated.
Thanks for the ideas....what an inspiration !
Thanks.
This is the model of that horn:
Kuryakyn Super Deluxe Wolo Bad Boy Air Horn Kit
How do you see the left turn signal from behind with a lid ends plate sitting in front of it
The signal hangs and is fully visible from the rear of the motorcycle. 👌
Hi there beutifull machine...I just picked up the same year 2000 was wondering did you lower front and rear and if so how thanks so much
Sorry, don't recall anymore. It's been so long..... and we've done so many....
Anyone knows the best drive belt for a Yamaha Roadstar 1700cc.
Good question. We'd recommend you use an oem drive belt straight from your local yamaha dealer.
Can you add links to all the aftermarket and chrome parts
Sorry Calvin. The bikes long gone. But great idea, will be sure to add links next time
Where are you located at
Info on light bar pleas and spacers
They were custom made.
I seeked out this bike because I wanted a v twin that didnt have chains that run the valvetrain and chain to the tranny ,, the motor is why i bought it but it has two flaws that must be adressed the oil pump gear and the recall issue .. get them fixed and you have a 250,000 mile bike .. It has superior engineering to the classic Harley ,,
🤙🤙
👍👍
🤙🤙
How does it sounds
Great
Where did you get the mirrors. They are wicked! I can't seem to find any online that are unique.
Honestly brotha' they're so old couldn't even remember if we tried. For some reason I'm thinkin' Drag specialties though. 🤔🤔
I have a 06 Stratoliner that i want to do a 21" fat spoke on front and a 16" in the rear. what all would i need to change/ which rim(from what year model harley) should i purchase? Thanks Greg
Sound like a fun project. Unfortunately we haven't done a conversion between those model yet so we wouldn't know. You'd have to buy the rim based on measurements as best you can. Then you'll like have to change/spacers & bearings accordingly . 🤙🤙
Great, thanks so much for the advice and hopefully ill figure it out or if all else fails ill just sell the new rims to someone who can use them.@@ChampionCycle
Great video 💗 John Graham Cincinnati Ohio. 06 yamaha stratoliner 49k
👍👍
Would you give /sell the stl for the spacers for the lights ?
Sorry dude, we made them one off and have upgraded our machine since. Simply couldn't grab the write file anymore. 😢
@@ChampionCycle no worries.I just bought a 2000 roadstar and want to do some upgrades
I have a 2001 Road Star...it's a badass fkin bike....like it better than my heritage Softail.... Yamahas twin cam is as good if not better than Harleys idgaf what anyone says look into how it's built then say
👌👌
Did you lower the rear? Maybe a taller rim?
The rim is larger. The tire is a lower profile. The fender is lowered. 👍👍
I have a 2001 ROADSTAR that I'm turning into a cholo/vicla style. Love my Yamaha
Sweet ride !
How can I know if my Yamaha is a Silverado or VTX?
The vin number and a call to the dealer.
SO. MUCH. CHROME!
💥💥
Bitchin ride brother. Nice job with this one.
Thanks playa 👍
love the bike!! do you ship to the UK? If I had a budget of £8500 would this bike be a viable option?
There is a company from the UK who import bikes from the states but he obviously has to make a profit and his bikes are just out of my price bracket. Cheers.
Sorry we don't.
How much was this build, I'm looking to somewhat replicate this
Good question. It was done over time so kinda hard to pin point a value. A safe estimate would be $10k-$15k
@@ChampionCycle do you happen to remember where you got the rims I have looked everywhere for these or similar
Can you sell me a set of the 3d printed trim kit for the passing lights.
Sorry we had them made one off. We didn't keep the file. Wish we did now though. 🤣
Sorry, we don't make them anymore.
I wont change the wheels, the stock spoke wheels do not look bad
Agreed
nICE BIKE; ONLY AIR FILTER IS RIDICOULUS; NOT FITS TO THE GENERAL STYLE; EVERYTHING ELSE JUST NICE
Ya, different strokes for different folks. This particular dude was super set on this air filter. 🤪
that pointed air filter should be illlegal....thats deadlly
🤣
Need a drive belt
Good question. We'd recommend you use an oem drive belt straight from your local yamaha dealer.
Nice bike except all ugly wiring in front of the tank
Agreed 👍
This doesn't seem like a review. Sounds like a sale pitch..
