Very similar to how the Vietcong used to tie fishing line to a partially pulled grenade pin so that when you tripped the wire, the pin would pull out completely. Of course the Vietcong had more sinister intentions and would make punji pits around the grenade so that when you went to dive for cover from the fragmentation, you would fall into the actual trap being the punji pits.
If you've noticed your CA glue bottle prematurely hardening, it's because the hardening agent is aromatic. A spray into the air causes the hardening to accelerate. Typically to hasten the curing process one will tend to spray directly onto the glue covered area or spot & it will create a shell & most of the time cause crazing. That's the hardened foam that smokes, cackles & it a "cold shut", as with a cold sweat joint on copper pipe, or a cold solder on a circuitboard. The difference is crazed CA glue expands in bulk & crazed areas are weak.

Why the mason bee tubes? Is it just size/cost? Any reason you couldn't use copper tubing or 3D print the tube and cup? Wouldn't those both be stronger and already water proof? Just add a dab of sealant to the seams. Or you could design the cup with the hole already in place and have it screw onto the tube, then just coat the threads with CA.
What is the magnesium carbonate for? Also, is there any reactive cautions to any of the other chems that people should be aware of? how stable is it for short and long term storage? Thank you in advance.
I think you already know the answers to those questions and you are just quizzing me to determine my credentials. Your name is oldmanpatriot after all. When The magnesium carbonate decomposes during combustion it releases co2 which slows the ignition composition’s burn rate. And because the burn time of the igniter is prolonged that increases the probability of ignition. Also, a secondary benefit is that it slightly buffers some trace sulfuric acid that potentially forms from the sulfer in the striker mixture on the string, and the potassium chlorate in the ignition mix. Though the striker and ignition compositions are not mixed (during storage) they are in close proximity. Increased acidity means increased sensitivity. [someone fact check this paragraph] As for other reactive chemicals, Red phosphorus and potassium chlorate are extremely reactive, as are sulfur and potassium chlorate their toxic relationship is what makes these igniters work. Storage, academically, shouldn’t be long-term. However, empirically, I’ve stored for 1+years

May I have the formula to make those Glitter and sprinkles? Or if they have ready-made that I can get? Asking for a friend.
How do you find both type of “sprinkles”?
You threw me off with the sprinkles. First, I just thought it was code for a component. Then I was like, oh, that really is sprinkles. I figured out what sprinkles are now. I must make these now!
Could you elaborate for those of us who are lost? lol
For your bic problem try popping off the thumb striker safety pin you'll be able to lite your bic lighter with rubber gloves on
I'm trying to find the link for Amazon on those non corrodable trip alarms all plastic they appear
I’m a pest control guy, I completely understand collateral damage when I comes to bees.
Questions, Tannerite for the charge? And Shrink Tube, or dipped candle wax for the casing?
Would it be much cheaper just petard with match?
Can you not use candle wicking or infuse your pullstring with wax to weatherproof?
You can, but it cracks with any sort of movement
@@InventionIncarnate Jacketwax is somewhat flexible, or hangon...D'uh at myself...
Dubbin/boot polish.
Sorted haha!🤘
Love this! Def coming back to this before camping trip. He said you can buy those caps pre-made? Where and how much? The cap is basically the explosion right? Fill with bbs or cayenne pepper!
I almost lost the will to live when you were tying those knots.
Sh_t, I was going for a kinda hypnotic asmr thing there. I was so proud of myself for being artsy. I guess it doesn’t work for people who don’t have knot fetishes, such as myself.
C’est quoi les paillettes mises dans le tube ? Merci
This dude's definitely a piro! Its awesome!
Where did you get the string?
You made these, awesome job my friend.
I reload ammo. Can I use gun powder ? :)
Can I buy like 100 of these already made??? Buying a lot of offgrid stuff before the election , been stacking up on ammo , MREs , body armor just out doors stuff
You can buy electronic ones that send a signal to your phone. They’re silent and don’t require explosives or convoluted strings. Also available as a camera that also links to your phone.
Bees are an important part of agriculture. Agriculture is an important part of keeping people like you fed.
I too enjoy eating bees! 🐝
Just received my kit. Well put together 💪🏽
WHERE DO YOU GET THE KIT?
I remember buying poppers from the ice cream man and decided to unravel and collect a big pile of them in tissue paper to make a bog one. It exploded in my face before i was even finished. I dont trust myself making any explosives. Your incredibly smart man.
Dude, thanks allot! After that "Sprinkles" comment" I spit MTN Dew all over my laptop!!...
Couple of improvements use a disc of plastic bag and then clay to hold in the sprinkles and dip in wax 2 to 4 times to waterproof no more glue.
Clothes pin(clip) thumb tacks w/flexy phone wire and a led and battery pack. Trip wire has spacer to keep. The circuit inert. Pulling in string the insulator moves and closes the circuit and light the lamp
Damn I gotta have those. Im here still using bells. BUT how did you hook the back end out of it> We only saw the front with the loop?
Amigo no quiero se aguafiesta pero cómo se consigue en español una forma de saber qué producto estás utilizando😢
I’ve seen them made with a 12ga. Shotgun shell..there are all kinds of Trail Alarms on the market..many can be easily made.
Sorry if I missed it but did you say you had a video on how to use your kit to make the cups?
Just think, I already had sprinkles and glitter candy in my cabinet. Im excited!
That'll teach all those mountain bikers having more fun than me this summer!
I would love to order from you, but apparently, my number is linked to someone else's vinmo. Is their anything else that can be used?
Thank you to the UA-cam algorithm. I was wondering if i was a watchlist, i am damn near certain of it now 😂.
14:12 flex seal spray for exterior waterproofing?
We use to make smaller versions of this as kids and tie them on the backs of bicycle wheels during school breaks. Sit back and enjoy when the other kids got ready to bike back home 😂
Was is joke for yt guidelines or do the sprinkles accually work
What size ring terminals did you use
[someone fact check this paragraph]
As for other reactive chemicals, Red phosphorus and potassium chlorate are extremely reactive, as are sulfur and potassium chlorate their toxic relationship is what makes these igniters work.
Storage, academically, shouldn’t be long-term. However, empirically, I’ve stored for 1+years
@@InventionIncarnate LOL,,, No, I wasnt quizzing you, I honestly wanted to know, Its hard to find good hobby information. Most people hold onto it like stink on $---. You couldnt pull a dime out of their sphincter if you had a tractor strapped to it. I really appreciate intelligent and thoughtful people willing to share their knowledge with no strings attached. Thank you for taking the time to educate me. Contrary to popular belief, Old dogs can learn new tricks. If someone is willing to take the time.
That big red panel truck , that has been there repairing that power pole for 2 weeks ?
When will they be done he wonders
You should tinker with spraying the outsides of these when done with some spray contact adhesive. Then rolling them in dirt mixed with twigs n leaves that match the surroundings. They'll blend in like crazy. Good video bud
Got this in recommended. Not likely to make use of it, but it's definitely awesome getting a feel for how something like this can be handmade if you have the know-how.
Can you send these igniter components to Canada
Can we buy them premade from you?
Have you ever seen those "pull start fire" fire starters ? If you take them apart they have really useful igniter that can be used for many things.
Less destructive is the little screamer alarms for harbor freight, 1"x11/2"x 1/4"....very loud
Seriously.. how many of those caps went off while you were using an open flame to heat shrink the tubing? just curious. Wouldn't a heat gun be safer? Still.. fun video man! subscribed.
Try using the UV hardening glue. Resin. Just like what the dentist uses, but clear. No more breathing in the activator spray.
@@donaldbishop923 good idea. The activator is toxic af
@@donaldbishop923 just like my relationships lol
Isn't that a chemical composition of a regular striker for matches
Unless I go to JoAnns Cake store, I’ve only got the silver bb sprinkles. Will they work just as well? 🤔
Yes
