Wouldn't necessarily call it "traditional" but it is very typical for Slovakia AND Czech republic...apparently became popular during 1910s Czechoslovakia, served with potatoes and tartar sauce, which preserves to this day. The really typical traditional Slovak food would be bryndzové halušky I guess.
Beautiful video, I can’t believe you forgot you had been there before but I guess it was a quick visit back then. At least now you got to explore more AND more importantly you got to eat fried cheese, I know you both would’ve loved it. Stay safe, miss you both, love you. Mum.xx 💕💕
@@JordanandEmily of course!! So happy to share. Someday you two are going to have 1 million subscribers, and I am going to brag about being here since the beginning. LOL. 🖤🖤🖤
Oh what?! Where is it? Really wish we knew about this beforehand 😅😅 We loved it in Slovakia and would love to come back - any recommendations for places to visit?
Hi tourists :) A little tip for you: Our traditional food is "Bryndzové halušky" that is on menu at most restaurants in Slovakia. Our traditional cheese is "Parenica" and "Údená parenica" (you should definitely try them both) and you can find them in any grocery shop in the "cheese section" :) Anyways, lovely video! Safe trips to all 💗
Love the budgeting/financial addition (have been watching from the start - love your channel). Trying not to catch up too quickly as am about 11m behind. Just wondering what you started out with from Adelaide? We would love to do this type of world trip one day, from NZ it is so hard to get to Europe and do it well. 😢
Woa! Thanks so much, we can't believe you've been watching from the start 😀! We left Adelaide with a big chunk of change from working (and spending mothing) through the pandemic. It was somewhere in the realm of 80k! If you like the finance side of it we publish pretty detailed income and expense reports on our website that might interest you! 😀
@@JordanandEmily Thanks for the reply, you guys had a HUGE nest egg, well done to you both for saving so much. Gives us an idea of how much we’ll need when our turn arrives. 👍
I didn't know fried cheese was Slovakian **traditional** food, but what is certan that the Slovakian national food is ''Bryndzové halušky'' and that's in my opinion the food you should´ve tried
Fried cheese is not traditional Slovak food. I would call it a common food. The same applies to the Czech Republic, where fried cheese with french fries or boiled potatoes used to be the cheapest food on the menu in the Czechoslovakia (so even an ordinary family could afford it in socialist times). Due to the increase in cheese prices in recent years, this food is no longer one of the cheapest, but it has become an attraction for foreign tourists. :D . Yeah, Bryndzové halušky, that's traditional slovakian food.
We have found that out now! we were just following lists we found online 😃 at the very least it was delicious! We didn't get to try Bryndzové halušky but I just googled it and it also looks like something we would love! next time ;)
regarding the tram tickets, I’m from Wroclaw originally and you just tap your phone/card and they scan it when they check tickets. it’s to save the paper xx
That's what we tried but it didn't look like the machine was accepting anything and we weren't charged on our cards! maybe we got a broken couple of machines 😆
traditional slovak food is fried cheese??? really?? are you kidding me? this is your second time to visit slovakia, so you have to know, the traditional slovak food is bryndzové halušky! OMG
Cannot believe we forgot about a country who's traditional food is fried cheese! 😅

You should travel to it's neighbouring country, Czech Republic 🇨🇿
We need to get to Czech Republic!
I am from Slovakia . Just for information, our traditional food is rather garlic soup, pirozh and, of course, bryndzové halušky

Try bryndzové halušky next time for sure😉
There's no such word Slovakian. It's Slovak food, Slovak cheese, Slovak mountains etc. Please get it right.
I guess you might visit Prague, Czechia in the last time trip 😂
That was the original plan but not sure anymore!
