I decided to do a last minute trip to Bratislava from Vienna and used this video as my travel guide. I even went to to keiks and got a koláče fresh from the oven!
Bratislava ist the Best!! 😊 Great tour and video. I love that you both are so calm and relaxed.... it a joy to watch... very much like the Slovak people. 😄 I love Slovakia, the people and the slavic Culture. There is something magic going on there. Can't wait till im there again,🥰😍🇸🇰❤🔥
Bratislava surprised us as well, what a nice town we also visited during the Christmas markets it was packed. Then took the train to Prague the next day. I love you guys so pure, love all your bloopers they are hilarious! keep grinding!
The cannonball in the wall was put there on purpose, as the buildings that were damaged during that siege were exempt from taxes. I think there were up to 9 of these cannonballs in Bratislava
I missed the Blue Church when I went to Bratislava last year. 🙁 But it's nice to see you point of view! I only spent a halfday in Bratislava to see the city for myself. Now I realized, it wasnt enough. 😅
I would like to refresh the memory of some Hungarian friends and remind them, that in Bratislava then known as Pozson, 9 Hungarian Kings and 8 queens were coronated in the St.Martin's. church.I know, that it is very hard for some Hungarian people to come to the grips with the fact, that those times are over since the collapse of the Austrohungarian Empire in 1918. And now, the Slovakians are the Kings in their own castle. And moreover, that's about time in over 1020 year history of Slovak people, always ruled at first by Austrohungarians, later by German natzis, and after that by Soviet Union's communists, and now, finally since,,1993 extracted themselves from the Czechs, and now, after so long Slovakia breaths freely, as an independent nation and I have to say, that it"s about time....... SLOVAKIA, I love YOU more than YOU will ever know. With love from faraway Canada. And God may bless YOU now and for eternity!!!! Bye! J.G
Thank you! It was fun getting to see such a unique church and explore Bratislava's old town - such a neat place. The food was delicious (both the Slovak food and Ashley's Thanksgiving meal)! Glad you enjoyed the video! -Jordan
We were driving through Texas today and remembered this video. We stopped in Lubbock and found kolaches but they were more like pigs in blankets than the ones you showed here. Did we find the right thing? We liked the ones we had, but they didn’t seem that related to what you had lol.
What really stuck us on our visit was the run in past the Soviet style concrete city of apartments over the bridge and then you're greeted with the most quaint old town. Such a contrast and oh so worth a visit. Plus you get to find a host of bronzes in the most unusual places. Loved the video though got to say Thanksgiving without turkey is, well, different. Bring on Vienna.
Haha, sorry we didn't go find a turkey to roast in our Airbnb oven! I gotta say though, Ashley roasted up some delicious veggies, especially those sweet potatoes. We noticed those large concrete apartments too - definitely a contrast to the old town. We loved our visit to Bratislava and hope to do a road trip around Slovakia one day. Hoping to get a Vienna video out this weekend! -Jordan
Haha, too funny! We are generally really calm people so that’s coming through in our videos and we try not to be loud when traveling places. If you see us excited in a travel video, then you know we’re truly excited.
we love exploring new cities through their food and ALL of them looks so delicious, especially the ones at the slovak pub!! probably not a good idea to watch this late at night haha
Hi guys, so nice to see you visiting Braťislava . I’m born and raised in that area , now living in North America. It’s great that you’re exploring your (distant )Slovak roots. I’m going to take my kiddo to Slovakia so he can do the same. I know people say Slovakian, but it makes me cringe a little every time I hear it … the food is Slovak, not Slovakian … I am Slovak, not Slovakian ..and so on. A bakery is called a pekáreň. Pastries are pečivo. Cakes are Koláče ( plural ), koláč ( singular) … koláči(s) is weird, it’s Anglicized not Slovak. So I guess that in Texas they just call all pastries cakes. Your lunch looked delicious .. But pierogi aren’t Slovak. That’s not bacon that tops the halušky .. it’s škvarki , in US it’s called crackling Strapaté is messy hair .. so, strapačky are messy hairy dumplings (😊fun fact ). Loved the sight seeing … makes me a bit home sick .. and hungry! Cheers
You seemed to have missed out most of the interesting things areound Bratislava - Devin Castle, Slavin, St Martin's Cathedral, the Primate's Palace, the upside down building (Slovak Radio), and the Chatam Sofer memorial.
This is from 3 months ago? Did slovakia not affected by covid19? I'm interested to go there, is English acceptable? Because I just starting to learn slovak.
Let me reply as I'm from here. We are affected by covid. This video must be from some time ago, as we didn't have Christmas market in 2020. Don't travel now, as we are on lockdown. Also once it's safe to travel, definitely come here by spring time :-)
You’ll be fine… most young people know some English , and many can converse quite fluently. Even if you don’t feel confident with whatever Slovak you’ve learned, use it anyway, most people will warm to you for the effort and you’ll probably have some great conversations.😊
In general, people will treat you well, if you treat them well. If you find that most people don’t treat you well, maybe the problem is on you’re part. Your choice of words “managing Slovaks “ sounds pretty condescending.. nobody likes that. Remember, you are a guest in their country, try a little courtesy.

Oh fun! So glad you got a fresh koláče! Hope you enjoyed Bratislava. It was so festive during Christmas with the market.

Blue church was closed for repairing. But it is beautiful place. P.S I am live here.
Bratislava is a very charming city, I hope I can return to visit sometime in the future when all this is over!

That district is called Petržalka. True, maybe not pretty but the quality of living here is actually good. Greetings from Bratislava :-)
The home land bro!
You’ve gotta go visit Bratislava and Czechia one day. The food, architecture and culture are so cool! -Jordan
18:10 those two are typical moravian baked cakes, one with "tvaroh" cheese and other with poppy seeds, both kinda small😋😁
We are here in here! .
This vlog looks so cool already!
Awesome! We’re so glad you like it! Thanks for watching ☺️

Hah! A cheeky midnight snack won’t hurt! 🙃
My country Slovak Republic! Try sausage to see!
I went to this place during the Summer, never again, rudeness almost everywhere and taxi drivers that literally steal from you.

Nice city but people are.. Naahhh not the best. I know first hand since I'm working there more than 10 years managing Slovaks
Per il turista è una città carina e accogliente, ostatné ne riešy......
