How To 914: Suspension Console Installation

Adam shows us how to install the suspension console on a 914 using a suspension jig that anybody can fabricate at home.

Interested in the bottom connection of the inner & outer susp. console!
the factory applied an overlapping scab plate or plates bridging the low point of those two pieces. reinforcing the "sandwiching" of the inner & outer long's.
Did you replace those scab plates?
If so did you manufacture them (what gauge) to fit or simply hammer them in to conform?

Agree how did you handle the re-connection of the inner & outer consoles ?

What is weld-proof primer and what color is this 914. It's what I want for my '73, Rusty the Project 914 and Future Hillclimber.

+jockellis this is not a original 914 color. It is just a primer and it was mixed. if you like this color, you might like Ravenna green.Weld through primer is the product Adam is using, and it helps protect the sheet metal for the future and it allows you to apply it before welding the metal.
