Thank you so much that exact same thing happened I fixed it and now it doesn't make that noise that was so helpful I rather try to fix myself then have someone try to rip me off of something that wouldn't be the problem
cant stress enough how thankful I am for finding this video bro. We've been having the same issue with our washer for the last year and we was about to put down about $700 on a new washer that wasn't even broken. I realized when we moved to this new apt me and my dad transported the washer the wrong way which caused the bottom plate to bend inside and that was The Whole issue. thanks so much👍🏽
I've been looking for possible reasons why my washing machine makes noise when loaded. This video gave me clarity on a simple and highly probable cause. And you know what? It's the exact same problem with my Hotpoint Top Load washer. Your video is very helpful. Thank you so much.
Hotpoint is made by GE, so that explains that too.
Boom! My exact prob. Thank you...now my daughter is thrilled with the washer she was giving away because it was so loud. Happy day$$$!
Sure enough this is what what was going on with our daughter's Hotpoint washer. Fixed it in 5 minutes. Thanks for the great video!
You just made my day. I just bought a used Hotpoint & it was making that noise. Wife is not happy. Used appliance guy said he gives me 30 day guarantee. But now, not taking my calls. I'm going to try your fix with hope that is the problem. Thanks alot fixitman.
omg. I bought a 2nd hand washer from a lady after my old one broke and it started doing this. It makes sense, we moved the heck out of it trying to get it into the pickup truck and unloading it and up my stairs etc, thank you!!
I will be checking to see if that's the problem now, no one else mentioned this in troubleshooting videos, this will save me much time!
Thanks a million. You saved me from spending money to service guys
I didn't frequently move my washing machine but I did what you suggested anyway and that was a problem Thanks a lot I really appreciate it I was just ready to go out buy a new one
I just bought a washer from this guy today and it’s making that exact noise I am going to show them this video
Great video. GE washer started making metal rubbing/scraping noise after recently moving it using a hand truck/dolly. Followed video instructions to unbend metal base. Works fine now. Thanks!
Yup, everytime
Bro! You are the man!!! Totally fixed it. The bottom is so thin it's fully made of chinesium I was actually able to pop it off super simply and literally stuck my boot in there and push down on it. Gave it a few more pryes, just in case.
Please make sure you use something non-conductive so you don't get zapped, even though these things are unplugged there might be a capacitor that can definitely nail you and ruin your day. I suggest would or something plastic or wood. I used a hammer handle.
Many other theories on how to fix this but this literally worked so quickly it took me longer to put the front door back on then it did to fix. It was immediate and just amazing. Best video on UA-cam for this fix!
Awesome!!!!! Glad it worked
Wow I have the same problem and yes the noise (scraping noise) happened after I moved the machine into the laundry room oh and I did use a dolly. I examined the base mettle plate and yes I could see clearly the scrape marks. Thanks so much for making this vidio.
Thank you! This was the problem with my washer, no more loud scraping noises
Thanks talking to tech support they made it seem like you bend the support brackets and noise kept on. I like you’re method a lot more. Thanks for the share.
This is Exactly what ours started doing!
I used a broom handle and a hammer to pound the right side bent bottom down!
Man!! Wish I watched this before I tore my washer apart!! Lol. Thanks for the info!
Thank you so much!! This is the 3rd video I’ve watched. You got right to the point and I was able to fix my washer. 👏
Thank you for your video, got rid of the annoying noise, appreciate you sharing your knowledge !
Omg dam bro you save me a lot of money thank you
This is exactly what was wrong with mine! Thanks for the tip
Flat crow ( pry ) bar will probably work as well, maybe even better. Thanx for determining the issue.
Yep definitely would work too
Thanks Reggie!
Dude. You are the man. Thank you so much for your help. The entire front motor assembly had jumped over the left bracket and I had no idea what I was looking for until I saw your video. Thank you 🙏
Great detailed video. We need more like that for sure. Thanks
Ours was doing the same and your video REALLY helped Thx 😊
Ya mine doing the same thing after moving this is good to know thx
Thy for sharing.
Mine too. Just delivered today and that's the problem
Great tip. Thanks. You could hire me as your camera man. Lol.
You the man Reggie
I have a clanking noise on the right side of mine, not at the bottom...any suggestions where to start? Thanks!
Actually, it seems like the sound is coming from the entire top section....it's loud. I do not hear it in the SPIN cycle...just in the washing (agitation?) cycle/mode. Please help if you can...
well i took the front off and there is dark splatter coming from the center all over the floor of the washer. oil leak? I have that loud grinding so I was praying it was just a bent frame
Yep it worked 👍🏼
My hotpoint washer has been doing !! this awful sound when washing! It’s only 4 months I bought brand new ! Should I claim the warranty ‘?
Yes!!
Thanks
Good job buddy
Thank you for the info! How do you run a calibration cycle on these GE washers? gtwn4250d2ws
Good morning,i’m getting that exact noise but i not seeing what u do to fix the problem
I got a hotpoint washer that's making a clicking noise when I close the lid and not letting me wash
Nice Fix!
Thx DOC
Thank you so much!
Awesome
How did you take the front panel off ?
This was exactly the problem with mine.
GOOD TIP
Good job, thank you!!!!
Thank you so much for this video
Amazing how cheap they make these washers are now. This could never happen with vintage washers.
Buy whirlpool they're better
@@imlkrsfn My Whirlpool had the exact same problem.
👍
I thought maybe cutting those tabs off so they couldn't scrape.
Or grease up that bottom pan
How do you get the front off?
2 clips under front top, use butter knife
Where are the 2 clips located?
@@EarthAngel__1111 if you can't figure that out after reading where he said tabs are you need to call a professional. Seriously projects not for you. Ask the neighbor? Not being mean.
And if this is not it then what next
A lot of extra audio, just to say to bend it back. Thanks though.
