I know this is 4 years old, but thank you so much for showing actual examples of the machine running with the defective parts you are discussing!! It greatly helped me know exactly what the issues are with my machine. Other folks just describe the sound - nowhere near as effective.
I am so thankful I found this video! I was watching another on this channel that led me through taking my washer apart but almost changed the wrong part out. I replaced the motor coupler and we're back in order!
That was incredibly thorough thank you. Also, I'm pretty sure about half of those sounds come from my washer. Its probably time to retire it (it lived a good long life and I am not upset by this at all)
Excellent video! The inclusion of sounds and defective parts movements or actions was particularly helpful (i.e.wobbly tub bearings). It would have been nice to show us examples of electrical-caused problems like arcing, burning and overheating for novices who might not recognize them. Thanks so much for this hihly useful educational video
The noise my washing machine is making isn't on this list. My washer is suddenly making a high pitched noise while agitating. At least I know what isn't wrong with it. I just wish I knew what was wrong with it, so I can get an idea of how much it will cost to fix it. 😢
Thank you! This was the most helpful video because you included noises and videos of internal components that helped us rule out and diagnose the issue. Really appreciate your video and help!!!
Very helpful. Unfortunately for me the appliance repair folks around here just don't want to deal with these issues. Charge me $100 for a diagnostic and then they say, "Just get a new machine." Sigh.
That was a great tutorial. The background music made it difficult to hear the sound on some of areas you were explaining. Please don’t take this comment as rudeness. I meant it as corrective criticism. Others may have the same issue. I would hate to see you lose viewers due to background noise. I wish had known these things earlier in life. It truly is helpful.
i suspect a worn bearing, after replacing suspension rods, it isn't off balance now but vibrates. your video helped a lot to narrow down the issues & give me some extra maintenance tips. now i know where to look and what i'm looking for👍
I have a GE top load washer a few years old and it just started making a squeaking noise only during the agitation cycle. Any suggestions on what to look for ?
Hi, We have Electrolux washer top load. We can hear louder noise only at the end of the cycle then draining or drying. What do you think can cause? Thank you!

I have kind of a grinding noise when in agitation mode, like metal teeth are scraping against each other. But it still agitates. Would like to fix before what ever it is breaks.
Depending on your make and model of washer that sort of noise is common to worn agitator dogs assuming your washer may have a dual stage agitator. If this not the case we would require a bit more information on your machine to assist you better. Good luck and thanks for reaching out!

@@andrewkinzie9564 If you have done any repairs yourself you should be able to do this if it is the issue with your washer. I have done many repairs, including replace the motor. The reason I called an appliance repair shop to do it is because we were expecting visitors to spend the week with us arriving the next day and I knew it could take me several hours to get it fixed once I figured out what the problem was. It took the appliance guy about an hour to do the repair - he had the part in his truck. Not sure how much of my bill was part vs labor, probably about half and half.

Never had a washing machine growl and literally jump off platform. At 8 years old, is it even worth the technician costs? On small loads it can go out of balance so bad it has to be stopped. On full loads it makes a low growling grinding noise but no jumping around.

@@carpepacalis959 what ended up being your problem???
😂 right
My washer makes a grinding noice and then nocks out the power I just changed the agitator dogs too but it's not that sounds horrible
0:29 - High-pitched vibrating sound - drain pump
1:21 - loud buzzing sound when start - dry motor or motor start capacitor
2:34 - Loud thumping sound, slow agitation, slow spin speed - Motor coupler
3:49 - belt drive model: loud thumping or screeching sound during wash or spin cycle - belt failure
4:24 - Loud roaring sound in spin cycle or scraping sound - tub bearing
6:07 - loud banging in spin cycle, shakes uncontrollably - suspension system (coils) or dampening straps
Not all heroes wear capes.
I have a twin tub and the washer side, sounds like a pneumatic drill when it agitates. LoL 😂
6:10 - Suspension system. That's my problem.
