Refeeding syndrome is about your electrolyte imbalance. If you consume too much glucose or protein (to a lesser degree) it messes with your potassium-sodium balance. It is mainly a result of increased insulin secretion following high carbohydrate intake. The insulin pushes electrolytes into the cell and then you have none in the blood.

I think this is so amazing and you look great! My 18 year old daughter and I want to do this. She already started and is on day 8, but she only planned on going until Sunday. So far she has only lost 4 lbs which she isn't too happy about, but I am encouraging her to continue. She only consumes beef or chicken broth, drinks electrolytes and has green tea w/ACV. I have only ever gone the most of 36 hours fasting and I was hungry during that so I have been waiting until I am out on my school break to do a prolonged fast. I cannot concentrate when I am hungry! lol We have been keto for months and lost some weight but we are ready to see a big difference. Can you please update us on how you did refeeding and how you jumped into keto or carnivore after fasting please? Also, did you take vitamins during the fasting or did it on a empty stomach? My daughter is anemic as well and she hasn't been taking her iron because she can't take it on a empty stomach, so do you stop taking yours as well? Sorry I have so many questions, it's just that you been the most informative about this journey that I have found. Thank You in advance! :)
Thanks love for your comment.. tell your daughter not to give up because the scale does not usually reflect the amount we lose.. in this case, I believe the reason she might be seeing low numbers is because of the high sodium in the broth, which makes the body retain water. So is she can omit the broth and take coffee or tea instead, she will see a big drop, she can have the broth occasionally and in very limited amounts (1/4 cup max) The video I have posted today has touched a little on the food I ate, and how I progressed from liquids to solids.. if you are doing a prolonged fast, then it’s a good idea to takes vitamins, I took B Complex vitamins, I did not take my Iron supplements during the fast because of the ingredients that were in then but I was amazingly surprised that I held up very well, she can keep taking them and maybe skip here and there to see how she feels. No problem with the questions love, I did invite them and I’m happy to share ❤️

I want to lose weight yes, I have been praying about it. I have set goals, tried water fasting and alot of diet and I am still fat! Judy, please tell me what kept you going those 51 days, apart from you want to lose weight, how did you manage the tiredness, cravings and hunger and boredom?
Thanks for sharing your journey as well.. I can assure you that once the body switches to ketosis, all cravings go away and when the body is burning the fat, you are actually more energetic that when your body is using glucose for energy.. if you haven’t experienced this yet, I think you have not fasted long enough, and maybe you jeopardize your good results by eating the wrong foods when you eat.. after a successful fast, you need to maintain the good results by eating only foods that won’t make you put back the weight, because it could come back really fast and leave you frustrated. I hope my answer helps, and if you need more clarification on this, just ask 💕

I took water daily while taking my electrolytes, no specific amount m, just when I was thirsty For bone broth, I usually take 1/4 cup per day for maybe 3 days before I break my fast.. if you take a few tablespoons of bone broth, it doesn’t break your fast

Thanks love, with the right amount of electrolytes, you can fast successfully for long. Electrolytes are important for you normal body function.. after the electrolytes, sometimes I took green tea (took away nausea) coffee - no sugar of course! And towards the end of my fast I take like 1/4 cup bone broth a day.. only like 3-4 days too when I want to end my fast
To meet the recommended allowances for electrolytes you need: 1. Three teaspoon of sea salt or Himalayan salt * Note: some authorities recommend 3,000 mg or greater of sodium per day. For 3.400 mg you would need two teaspoons rather than three. 2. Potassium: 0.5 to 1.5 teaspoons of potassium citrate powder will provide approximately 1,000 mg to 3,000 mg of potassium. 1 teaspoon of potassium chloride (NuSalt / No salt) will provide 3,180 mg of potassium 3. Magnesium: There are many brands of magnesium supplements. Capsules are easier for many people to swallow than tablets. Choose one that has approximately 500 mg of magnesium.
Day 4 is usually the hardest, I hope you went through it, hope it’s the fast going so far? I did not exercise but I kept active whenever I could but walking around and mall trips

@@brendamoagi9711 you can do it, I did that before with great weight loss success, however I found that on my 2 day smearing window I sabotaged my gains by engaging in high carb foods, carbs didn’t affect the process much but I wanted to break the binge eating.. so 5:2 wasn’t the best for me.. however, I plan to do it for maintenance

What was your start weight and yours finish weight?
I intentionally avoided the numbers but I was 210 when I started, and I’m now 160.. I lost 50 lbs between Jan 11 and March 24th
