just came across this and I never thought of pressure canning chickens fajitas either, and will be doing this next week lol along with my Cowboy Candy lol 160 Jalapenos 😂 then oven roasting 30 lbs of Roma Tomatoes with basil, garlic and Avocado Oil and turning that into Tomato Soup 😊... Preppin all the time lol

Aww thank you so much! We have been putting out a few shorts here and there. Life has been busy, but we will pop in here and there with a vlog. 🥰 Thank you for stopping by!❤️
I've never ran into any issue's with this recipe. You could always omit the seasoning and add it in later. It would still be quick, convenient and delicious!😋
I like the way you seasoned the chicken before adding to jars rather than sprinkling the seasoning on the meat after placing in jars. I did make this and it is delicious!
Mmm mmm mmmm! I’m definitely adding this to my repertoire. The only thing I’m going to do differently is broil my marinated chicken for just a tiny bit before canning. I used to raw pack EVERYTHING! Then, I realized that broiling or roasting chicken gives it 1000x better texture and taste after canning, in my opinion. I actually do it now with all meats. I leave it completely rare in most cases, but roasting it a little or pan frying etc.. definitely helps with taste and texture. It’s a lot of extra work, but totally worth it. Love your style. Can’t wait to get more ideas from ya! ❤
I just came across your channel and whatta FABULOUS idea for Chicken Fajita meal in a jar. I am sooo doing this next week with all my other pressure canning project's I've got going on next week. Keep Preppin ❤
Thank you! I made it myself 🥰 I have never added black beans to the jar, but that is a fantastic idea! Beans need to be canned at 90min just like raw chicken! My only worry would be that beans need moisture and you can this without any fluid, but it makes its own🤔 If I were you try adding beans I would make sure they had been soaked in water overnight so they are already plump... I might have to experiment!😄 Thanks for the idea! If you try it, let me know how it turns out.
@@RonnyandBrettany I agree, it would be way better to can your beans separately. I do. I do black beans with jalapeños and black beans with chipotle and plain. As well as borracho beans, navy beans, bean soups! It’s nice to have a variety of beans canned up.
@Sabbathissaturday that's fantastic! Canning is so versatile. I am struggling with making refried beans from my canned Pinto beans tho... We used to buy store refried beans. I know they won't taste the same, but my variations are not good at all! 😂 Do you have any pointers from a fellow bean canner?
When I can just chicken, I usually put about 2lbs per qrt jar.... so with these, probably about 1.5lbs and the other .5lbs was peppers and onions! We love these as quick meals! We even put one jar with a can of pinto beans and some leftover rice to make quick enchiladas! They were fantastic! 👍
Brettany, I'm so glad you're loving your canner! I have been using mine, too! I am definitely going to make these! I think I will try beef, too! Thanks so much for sharing the recipe! God Bless!
I am TOTALLY loving my canner! It is such a useful tool to have in the kitchen!🤗 My shelves of food are filling up thanks to the convenience of using it. Beef for this recipe would be wonderful, I will have to try that as well! ❤️
@@RonnyandBrettany My shelves re filling up, too! I watched Janet's video right after yours & I had everything to make the Mexican Picadilly, so it's in the canner right now. I cut her recipe in half & it made 5 pints, which is what fits in my Nesco. I wish I had a bowl for lunch! 😄 God Bless!
Awesome! I want to try her recipe as well! My next canning project is making more Strawberry Lemonade Concentrate (it is soo good!) I can't keep enough on the shelf!
I subscribed, my YT feed brought you up and when you had meals in the jar not just soup which was the only thing I've been able to find until now can't wait to use it. Thanks to prime days 7/2024 & my Bestie/ Canning S-fu recommended it, saving on stove top mess, as well as not babysitting a pressure cooker. Her best bonus was to also convince my husband how great it is. I did have to laugh hubs has several guys he hangs out with that can, I didn't know that until last week. They are more excited about my Presto Perfect than I am finding an electric canner.
Hello there. I just found you today as I am getting ready to do a couple of days of canning. This looks very good. I have already made my spice mixture and tomorrow am I will get at it. I just love canning. What a great feeling of looking in your pantry and seeing all your hard work. Cheers Vancouver Canada.
Sheila, I'm so glad you found our video!😊 I love seeing my pantry full of canned goods. It is so satisfying. The chicken Fajitas are fantastic! They even make a great enchilada💕
Hey! No I didn't add any liquid. The meat releases juices while it pressure cans and creates its own liquid 👍 This is such a great pull off the shelf meal.
i did this sort of changed slightly with spice amounts. mine is not submerged in any liquid is that ok or will it do bad as the chicken, peppers and onions are not under liquid? first thing i tried canning so not sure.
The chicken, peppers and onions will be fine not fully submerged in the liquid! Have you tried it yet, it's fantastic!😋 You can also can chicken without any other ingredients, we can chicken all the time. It creates it's own juices, it will not be fully submerged, but it'll last a long time on the shelf and tastes great! Enjoy!🩵
Okay, a new recipe for me to can. Yummy. Just FYI, it is now recommended to leave inch and a quarter headspace when canning raw chicken. I think you are ok cause you have veggies with the chicken..Thanks for sharing. ❤❤
After canning, did contents release enough liquid to completely cover? The last several times I raw packed, I only ended up with liquid to cover 3/4 of contents.
I usually pour it all into a pan and warm it all up. Then I use a slotted spoon to remove the meat/veggies. If you wanted to drain some of the liquid first, you could. Depends on what works best for you... I have also used the Fajita Mix for filling enchiladas, it is very versatile 😋
I appreciate your speeding up the mundane slicing of your veggies. I’ll never understand why more UA-camrs don’t do that. How boring to watch them take their time slicing or chopping. Many thx! I didn’t have to fast forward through yours.
Looks Yummy!!
It is so good!😋

Newbie here. Did you add liquid to your jars?
Hey! No I didn't add any liquid. The meat releases juices while it pressure cans and creates its own liquid 👍 This is such a great pull off the shelf meal.
You only need to add liquid to hot packs vs raw packs just fyi! No liquid like she said in raw packs. Get to canning. It’s addicting.
Wow that was easy. What kind of pressure cooker do you use?
It is a Presto Electric Canner amzn.to/4gZZcH4
It works amazing! There is a cheaper one that works the same, amzn.to/3BNbQcm
HOW many pounds of chicken did you use?
Hello!😊 Each jar has about 1.5lbs of chicken.
@@RonnyandBrettany lol, thanks! I finally saw where you had told someone else that. I've got 6 quarts in the canner right now. Can't wait to try it!

They lie a lot. The abc people. Just saying. You’re correct that they say to do it, but I just don’t agree. 😘❤🤭
Thank you! 😀
Enjoy!😀
After canning, did contents release enough liquid to completely cover? The last several times I raw packed, I only ended up with liquid to cover 3/4 of contents.
Ours ended up with about 3/4 of the jar full of liquid. Which is perfect fine 👌
I do wish you had more of a recipe as to how much chicken is used.
Each jar had about 1.5lbs of diced chicken. 👍
Do the vegetables come out mushy?
The vegetables did not come out mushy! They held together nicely and tasted fantastic! 😋
May I ask what you do with all the liquid that is in the jar after you open it? Do you drain it off, cook it off or thicken it up?
I usually pour it all into a pan and warm it all up. Then I use a slotted spoon to remove the meat/veggies. If you wanted to drain some of the liquid first, you could. Depends on what works best for you... I have also used the Fajita Mix for filling enchiladas, it is very versatile 😋

Maybe I missed it…how much chicken did you use?
I used about 1.5 lbs per jar. Be sure to leave a 1 inch headspace 😊
Is any liquid required?
No! The chicken will create it's own juices 👍
Are bell peppers mushy after canning for 90 min ?
I don't think the peppers are mushy. I'm a texture person, and they don't bother me at all 🙂
I appreciate your speeding up the mundane slicing of your veggies. I’ll never understand why more UA-camrs don’t do that. How boring to watch them take their time slicing or chopping. Many thx! I didn’t have to fast forward through yours.
I'm glad the slicing section was fast!😀
I’m only one person I’m assuming I can do this in pint size so as not to waste.
Yes! You definitely can. Your processing time for Pints would be 75 minutes instead of 90 minutes for Quarts.
@@RonnyandBrettany Tks. Will be trying soon.
