I’m less than 11 minutes in, and I think the husband did it.
Her “ friend “ was a real piece of work. Having an affair with your best friend’s husband then to still sleep with him after he murdered her. Unreal.
She would have been 100% cool about it had mark wedded her and not the nanny. her acting out had to do with her being rejected rather than any moral compunction on her part

Mrs H 🇬🇧 ... I agree ... He had even manipulated the friend of his wife & got in her head til he was no longer around her causing her severe mental health issues ..!
Mark continues to lie while looking people in the eye. He is overly confident in his intelligence if he thinks people will will buy what he is saying just because he said so. He looks like such a nerd and leverages his harmless look to hide his viciousness.
so e people just can't be happy with what they gave. I think they gave very low self esteem and need attention like this to keep from being alone with their terrible thoughts

“A secret can be a powerful thing” No, honey. Me hiding bday gifts from my husband won’t make me sick. Knowing that you’re sleeping with your bff’s husband and listening to him tell you he wants her dead and you stay mum, is a powerful thing. She deserves something.
That's why you teach your kids 'no secrets, only surprises'.....secrets are not ok in this family and nobody should ask you to keep a secret.
This
Wanted to say the same. The secret is not powerful. The truth is powerful!
It was probably a Freudian slip on her part.
Deanne told her side of the story, but who knows what she left out. Maybe she wanted Mark and wanted her best friend killed, maybe that’s why Mark was trying to have her killed from prison, he would be damn angry that she is leaving out parts of their conversations together whenever they were snuggled up and intimate.
@@patricia-fz8et Wow, never heard of this saying. What a good way to keep children safe and teach them integrity! 💓
Whenever you are tempted to believe that there is not anything fundamentally wrong with human nature, just study a person like Mark Winger, who is capable of BEING happy, making other people happy, loving a woman, loving children, being a good father, being a good neighbor, friend, co-worker... A lot of people have affairs with their best friends husband or wife. It happens everyday. Where have you been?
@@KatieBrown-et1yp I didn’t mean that literally lol. I just mean the audacity….ay dios mio
Yes, knowing people well, having them be around all the time, means that there's a lot more opportunities for affairs with family, close friends, and co-workers. But decent people would respect those boundaries and *not go there*. So yes, terrible friend. And she only testified on condition of immunity.
Even if she had the affair, the real culprit here is the husband, not the "friend". He was the one cheating after all. With the best friend of his supposedly beloved wife.

This story really underlines how dangerous police biases about classism and mental health can be. I’m glad the police identified their error and corrected it, but how many “guilty” people out there suffered the same fate almost cast to Harrington?
More than we imagine.
And they want to wrap up their cases and not have to admit they were wrong.

Horrible thought to be married to someone who you love, And yet not knowing who they really are.

One of my worst fears
I was married for 30 years and ended up feeling had I known my husband at all after his deceit.

If you had a wonderful marriage you wouldn’t have been having an affair with her best friend. K bye.
And they hadn't been married that long.

Intentional murders are always infuriating. But when it happens to a mother with a small child, it's evil. Especially if the murderer is her husband.

He had a very beautiful wife and a new daughter; as well as successful careers. Then 2 insuspecting and innocent people died in very premeditated and violent manner at his hand and he plotted 2 more from prison. And denied everything! What an evil monster! 😡
This is so sad. I wish he would have just divorced Donna like a normal person... she could have still had a good long life. And Harrington too. He didnt need to be dragged into this and have his name/reputation be ruined
Didn't want to be looked at badly for divorcing, and having to go to court over custody/ pay child support.. he was a narcissist and thought he could outsmart the police.. if it wasn't for Deanna's guilt causing her to come forward, he would probably still be free..
@@Jkaye13I think Deanna is just as bad as the husband. She only came forward cause she was bitter he married another woman after Donna was killed and Deanna maybe thought she would get to raise the adopted baby, be the second wife....and that didn't happen. Deanna is a low life too.
I am fascinated by this case. I'm glad that 48 hours is covering it.
Huh
Her friend only told the police because he ended the affair!!! What a friend?!!
Take out "R".
I bet Donna made probably one remark about the driver's behavior and her husband saw his opportunity. What a POS! And that best friend of hers is horrible too! Not only that, Detective Cox has the nerve to look proud of himself for re-opening the case, when he's the one that let him go to begin with. The husband had the privilege of living his life and making another family because he didn't seem suspicious to Detective Cox.
He made her write about the experience and it was posted on the refrigerator!
Right, Det. Doug Williamson was on it!
Dear God; that first hammer blow. I cannot even begin to fathom the horror of disbelief that the man you love and adore, with whom you just adopted a beloved baby, has turned into a monster of nightmares, bludgeoning you with a hammer.
Donna's mom can't fathom why this piece of trash killed her daughter. Was it because of his mistress? This man is heartless and truly evil, planning and committing such a horrible act.
I didn't get that either with the mom. The answer is very clear why he did it. He was a cheating scumbag! He never loved her. His parents seem enabling.
And with a hammer how awful!!!!
I think also because she couldn’t have children.
Yeah...I also feel like he wanted to have his own children...not just an adopted one!
@@Rocioxx0619 I also wondered about that but in the end he's a narcissist and utterly selfish.

48 Hours didn’t go into the relationship that was lost between the Dreschers and Bailey, Mark and Donna’s daughter. The Dreschers desperately wanted her in their lives bc she was all they had left of Donna. Mark denied them Bailey and his new wife adopted her. Mark and his new wife (I think her name is Anna) had two daughters and a son as well. I have seen this story so many times on so many different shows. I always learn something new each time I watch this story, because every show focuses on a different relationship. This one focused more on the Detectives, whereas 20/20 focused more on Mark’s second marriage. RIP Donna. 1 minute in, and I already know it's the husband who did it. That call was so pathetic it actually make me howl laughing at one point he wailed like Morty lol
I don't think he did it.
😂
If Harrington's if body was moved by paramedics wouldn't there be blood evidence to show his body was moved or dragged across the floor?
No
Cant wait to watch this after work. This was an old forensic files back in the day 🎉❤
I hope the grandparents still get to see the adopted child 😢
Who has the adopted child? The second wife?
@@edp3202 yes the nanny turned wife 🤮 the first wives parents were active in the child’s life till the case was reopened hurts my heart to think about them not being able to see the kid even if it’s biologically not the first wives but legally her adopted child
The murders happened in 1995, so the child is around 30 years old now. Sara Jane Drescher died last year at the age of 83.
All that "crying" and no teardrops! 😂🤦🏾♂️🤣
Lol the way he switched to his hystaric voice in the interview. I bet he practiced that 😂😂😂. Rip Donna. Rip Harrington he was just a means to an end
Very well said.
I believe him. He didn't do it
He cried and cried and had no tears!!! He's evil!!
Not everyone expels tears
