I believe his son probably knew in his heart right from the beginning. I forgive a kid who couldn’t bring himself to turn his father in. I mean come on. When all the cops started showing up asking about a missing woman this kid and wife couldn’t put 2 and 2 together. Doubtful. The mother, Mario’s wife, definitely kept her mouth shut at the time. What wife isn’t going to be aware of a tractor digging holes on her property around the time a woman goes missing and your husband who was digging holes is the number one suspect?

And yes, cheating happens, but it’s still an act of moral turpitude which indicates the person who committed it is far more likely to commit more serious crimes of moral turpitude, including the one shown here, than a person who’s never done any such act.
Think of acts like cheating, credit card fraud, etc, as gateways or as causing the “broken window effect” of morality. A person whose character & record are spotless very rarely wakes up & decides to commit a major crime.

Too bad the son didn't tell them the truth the first time the detectives were there instead of all that time that went by ... how many years later ?
I'm glad he did tell them the truth but they actually ended up having to bring in an archaeologist to even tell them if the bone was a human bone or not ?
If he had told them the truth when all this 1st happened it would have been so much easier to identify the body as definitely hers and on top of that could have gotten the much needed closure for loved ones but especially that poor mother who was almost losing her mind out of grief .
Justice delayed is Justice denied and so for every day every week every month and every year that went by what's another year of that kid deliberately denying Justice that poor murdered girl and her loved ones .
I'm just glad he finally did tell the detectives what he knew but he should have been forthcoming much much earlier

Of course, not being there for her husband (he lost a daughter as well) but people dont care about men too much; they are expected to be tough. So his wife most likely was "there" but not really there. Probably couldnt talk about anything - didnt care about anything except Christy. People grieve in different ways. So yeah - to the husband, he lost two people in this tragedy.
So when they finally got all the answers and was able to bring Christie home, the wife became present again. Now the two of them can re-bond. That is an amazing marriage to be able to go through all that together. Its not uncommon for couples to divorce after losing a child. God bless them for being so strong.

She purposely leaves her phone as a way to get away because she starts to get an uneasy feeling. On the way out he grabs at her acting as if she’s trying to dip out and not pay him back. When she says she forgot her phone and needs to go get it is the moment he claimed to be an embrace was actually the moment he snatched her up and hid her in his car. His defense is that the physical evidence (her hair, blood, and DNA found in his car - after he'd cleaned it) must've been planted. And that she went back inside the casino to get her cell phone after he went to the parking lot with her. But the surveillance video does not show her re-entering the casino.
...so what he is claiming is that, yes, he walked into the parking lot at 1:30 in the morning with a woman who was stumbling a bit, but still pushing his arms away, knowing that her cell phone was back in the casino, and the reason no one ever saw or heard from her again is that there must've been a bogeyman in the parking lot who attacked her at that time.

I live very close to the Casino it was big news at that time. Next to the casino is a dump for the county on the same road less than a mile. We all thought he put her there. We know better that don’t go alone to the Casino. Very sad she was so young. Don’t trust guys that you just meet if you need to go to you car the Casino has security on the door and trough out the casino. I don’t know why she even walked with him at all . A guy can immobilize you very fast and this guy was bigger than her.

Maybe he pretended they were going to another casino or something, so she thought that's where they were going?
He may have purposely hid her phone in the casino so she wouldn't have it, because he somehow knew it was left behind there.

It’s so heartbreaking to see such a beautiful woman just snatched away from her family. This guy is a monster. I feel so bad for her and her family. Even the poor Garcia family. Imagine finding out you have a monster living under your roof. Everyone please be careful out there ❤

    She didnt forget her phone.
He took it without her knowing it, and left it there. That way the phone signal couldnt be traced and so her location.
She never said she forgot her phone, because then you would immediately walk back to get it. He knew it, because he left it there. She never knew.
And it also provides him somewhat of an explanation she wasnt with him and seems to speak truth.
Its possible he killed more people, so im wondering if they finished exploring the other locations at the property, or did they stop on hole 3? Should explore the others too.

Cell phone gps tracking was not a well known nor accessible tool in 2005 when this crime occurred. He may have considered her ability to communicate in general but gps tracking? Extremely unlikely as the technology on because available in 2004-2005 for cell phones and most devices at that time did not the software.

Wow this one was a tear jerker for sure. A really really sad story but also a beautiful story because Christie’s mother made it something beautiful in the end. Those 2 detectives are amazing. They’re the best examples of two amazing people with hearts of gold. Any family would be beyond lucky to have these guys looking for your missing loved one. I feel bad for every family that didn’t get lucky and get these detectives. They’re really top notch. I watch a lot of these shows, and these two detectives have to be my favorite ones yet. There’s many that don’t give up and that go above and beyond, but these 2 went even farther. God bless them❤️ they must have kids of their own. Christie’s mother and father are also amazing humans. Her mom has an amazing spirit that just gives me good energy. She took this sad story and made it calming and peaceful. Her mom also deserves credit too because she never stopped. I have no doubt in my mind that her and her husband are still together living every day to it’s fullest like they deserve. They went through 15 years of hell and sadness. I believe her mother and father are totally free now and cherish everyday with each other, they deserve nothing but true happiness, 2 beautiful souls❤️

Rarely do these 48-hour shows make me shed tears. But this one just touched me. The tenacity of the police officers, coupled with the steadfastness of the family. When Debbie said she was nor making a deal with that devil, hoping that she lay her child to rest even still, is not letting him win, just like she swore she never would.
