Miss Jan, thank you sooooosooo much to present such a wonderful video on the eye/ sun glasses case. You are so perfact in giving the measurements that no body can fail to make this beautiful fabric case. Even a beginner can learn & enjoy the project. You are motivation to us who are into sewing hobby. God Bless you ma'am. I am inspired by you to make projects. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think it's about time I say THANK YOU, JAN, because without you I would probably have given up sewing even before I really got started. I've been a subscriber to your channel for almost 1 year now, which was when I started sewing and without your help, I would never be where I am right now. Thanks so much for taking the time to teach us everything you know. Love from Luxembourg ♥️ Dany
@@JanHowellI'm 63 and I only just started 1 year ago ... and my father was a tailor and always wanted to teach me, but I was afraid of the sewing machine 😆😂 ... unfortunately he's no longer with me to see that I finally did it, but it does make me happy anyways
Just so beautiful & so perfect tutorial. No hididing the measurements!. So kind of you show every smallest detail. Thank you so.... so much to share with us& to be kind to us the beginners. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I made two of the first one and one of the second. The first is so quick and is my favorite. The most difficult part is birthing it at the end. It feels like it is impossible and then suddenly it turns out. I love the finished product.
That scrap of fabric is called a "spider" - also called a "leader" and/or an "ender" - is a scrap of fabric that you run through your machine at the beginning and end of each seam. I heard this on Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting years ago.
A little tip: when the directions say right side facing down…I use the “ face to face “ method,…meaning the very same thing and it helps me remember which side needs to be facing where.

I use a universal 80/90 needle without any problem. You can always beef it up a bit if you want.
