Over the last couple years I've bought a couple synths, but they didn't quite get "that special tone" - it's the one you're looking for and know it when you hear it; that deep, lush, warm, up-close-and-personal analog tone. As we're unable to try these synths in Australia, due to lockdowns interstate, I've really appreciated all the time and effort these artists/composers have taken to show what this synth is capable of. I've just ordered the Prophet 10, based on this video and other demos online. I can't wait to run it through my UAFX and Strymon pedal rigs. Thank you Alexander for this walkthrough, and to DSI for creating special instruments! It's exactly what I've been looking for.
Exactly! That, plus starting from scratch with every addition clearly visible and through frequent playing also audible makes it easy to follow and understand. Great tutorial, Alexander.
The tactile sensation of the P10 is second to none. It’s not just the ultra-premiumness of materials but the ridiculous response rates… just a hairline of a potentiometer tweak and it takes you to directions that invoke new ideas and emote sonic Zen states. This is creativity on steroids at every turn of a knob, And an ability to express sonically a warmth and lushness unlike any other instrument. To me, this is the price of admission […not the 2 VCOs, 1 LFO and 2 EGs at the $/£ 4K mark]
I’ve stopped considering buying anything else, even socks, to hopefully get the P10, but at £4K gbp it’s as costly as the moon landings to its comparable scale of investment.

Thank you! The very best teachers think out loud as you have done so nicely. Very informative!

Spoken like a true fanboy, and seconded!
I love how you build the sound!
Great explanation on how to create the sounds!
Awesome! Keep the synth tips coming!
Nice! Thanks for the video
Beautiful work!
Can I ask what reverb you used?
Cinematic pad with reverb…full moon tide washing over me…🤤

😅Great comment
Awesome, great sounds. This synth needed two keyboards though. 😊
unique looking wood, mine is unremarkble
