@@demishellen It's perfect for me because you are showing your work, so to speak. Sound design and the dark arts of synthesizers are things I have struggled with and Vital is the first synth I have truly adopted and got into the nitty-gritty with. It's an astonishing beast. I look forward to the next "lesson"
I have Arps in Vital and serum coming soon for trance. Synths can look daunting at first but a little repetitive persistence gets results. Sticking to Vital is a good move too, once you grasp it you can take the knowledge to the next one. 👍🏻
There are builtin features for arpeggios (note snap) and those "envelopes" at 3:19 can actually be made by just clicking that brush tool next to the numbers that say 8 - 1 and clicking/dragging inside the lfo grid
@@demishellen great stuff. I took your idea and made it my own with a few tweaks. Sounds cool. Can you make a video on how to create evolving, layered pads??
recently got vital and used it in a few of my tracks, and it's just insane how awesome the program can come up with different types of sound designs, definitely subbed!
Very helpful tutorial, Not many videos cover vital like this one, amazing stuff! Helpful tip though, to save time at 4:20 in the video you can use the paintbrush tool to automatically draw in the triangular lfo's.
Thanks I am interested in more about samples. I’m also interested in how you got the first stepped feature in at the very beginning of the video. This a lot to digest!
Greg, Not sure if your question was about the staircase figure in the LFO grid? If it was: In the LFO area, click your mouse where it says 'triangle' . A drop down opens up, select 'staircase down'. Now drag the dots in the grid around untill you copied the one in the tutorial. (Hover mouse pointer over dot, hold left mouse button down to drag dot and release mouse button at new destination) .
Will you ever do a tutorial on making custom wavetables in Vital? I know there are already a billion video tutorials for that, but I would like to see your take on it
There are a few videos out there. I can cover a couple of things, maybe focusing on how each it is in Vital before delving into the more advanced methods.
Fantastic video! I've only just started playing around with Vital. Would I be able to use these methods to do the intro for Van Halen's 1984? Can you split the keyboard for the Brass on the right with the left being that unique 1984 sound? Thanks in advance.
Vital so good. I also like how I can translate all the investment I had in Hybrid 3 quite right away and on steroids. Hybrid still having a few tricks up its sleeve but definitely a Vital convert by now.
Well trigger is so everything starts at the beginning for sequences. I would use sync to modulate the fine tune or panning where you don’t want it to restart at the beginning every time you press a key. I would suggest trying both types on really intense panning to hear the differences. Sync will sound smoother 👍🏻
I don't quite understand what Macros do. I mean, why not just link the multiple parameters to your LFO's/Enveloppes directly ? I don't get the difference
@@demishellen im sorry to disappoint you but the preset isnt there. I only see the preset VC Intencity with the letter i. I bought the vital cinamatic sequences vol 1
@@SFearox That's odd, I've just checked the download and it loads in with the presets 🤔 Here is a link to the preset directly: www.dropbox.com/s/4q72zoxoljg3cv6/VC%20Industry%20DH.vital?dl=0
using vital you could compose an entire song just from hitting one keystroke, It seems like. it would just be tons of effects and sliders and LFO's and incredibly hard to edit anything
Vital keeps surprising me, so deep, sounds good, it's easy to use and it's free!
One of the most clear, straightforward and useful Vital tutorial I've ever seen. Thank you!
Cheers Sean. 😎 much appreciated 👍🏻
Pretty impressive one note patch there chief, you're almost turning it into a mini daw. subbed
Love this no nonsense straight to the point sound design video. Im subscribed!
That’s my Jam. Started this based off hating a 2 hour lecture before video topic started 😂😎
You're one of the most unique producers on youtube. This sounds a lot like that popular TV Series about kids in the 70s.
Appreciate the feedback and comments 👍🏼 thank you
Stranger Things?

what lol it's just the synth from stranger things.. pretty basic
@@overtonesnteatime198what are you trying to say? And why
Thanks
Outstanding stuff
Cheers Joe, there is more to cover but this is a good introduction to sequencing in Vital as well as Cinematic design. 😎

Takes me back to every cheesy 70s-80s scifi movie we watched on weekends.... cool.
Oh man yes I would love to see how you made that cinematic drum sequence from one sample!
There is a cinematic preset pack coming out with it in but I am thinking about doing another sequence video at some point. 😎
Absolutely beautiful as always. Vital is such a beast.

Yeah I missed this one at the time of recording 🙃 Much easier when I actually discovered snapping :)
Great stuff! Isn’t that the X Files theme?
More like this please!! Love it
Appreciate the comment Scotty, expanding the ideas on the channel has begun. 👍🏻

Fantastic video this one. Followed it step by step and it gave me a lot better understanding of Vital. 🙏
Wow! Amazing sound design!
2:54 sounds cool for DnB or cinematic music sequence.
GOD DAMN 👏👏👏👏 it all started from 1 simple saw

I know 😂 I totally forgot about the paint brush, my Arps videos coming tomorrow features the paint brush 😎
Appreciate the support and comments. 👍🏻
First time watching your videos, i got vital recently and this is my first forey into wavetable synths. Thank you for this video. Its smashing.
Aweseom tutorial! Really inspiring. Would love to see more (non trance related, sorry :)
Amazing mate! Keep them coming!!!
Sure will keep them coming, there is a Vital Arp video in the works so there is more to come soon.
Very nice! Learned a lot! Thanks for sharing.
No problem, Vital is my secret weapon at the moment.
Very Nice tutorial....Great mate!!!
Heey, this LFO3-Slide reminds me on the Shining soundtrack when they drive up the mountains to the Overlook Hotel! 😎
I see where your coming from 😎

To make the triangles on LFO2 instead of creating each point, click on the brush, select a saw down and just click and drag.
Even 32 bars gets easy.
Ahh thank you so much! Life saver!!
Tkx a lot
this is insane
This sounds is incredible. Makes me think of the game Elite Dangerous!!

How did you reduce the speed of LFO1 without changing the speed? im too new at this ughhh
perfect, now I've learned a little more about vital 😀 👍
Great to hear Frank 😎
wanna see the VC BIG TOM DH preset Tutorial Thanks in Advance
How do you create the 5th and 6th LFO?
In what instance would you actually use Sync mode with the LFO?
Well trigger is so everything starts at the beginning for sequences. I would use sync to modulate the fine tune or panning where you don’t want it to restart at the beginning every time you press a key. For cool effect for example in DnB genere where it can be used quite well.
Can't use it. Vital says that it's for new versoins only(( Maybe u know how to fix it
Download the latest version from your vital account. 1.5.5 is available to all, scroll down a little to see the 1.5.5 update installer. 👍🏼
I don't quite understand what Macros do. I mean, why not just link the multiple parameters to your LFO's/Enveloppes directly ? I don't get the difference
Macros let you change or tweak the sound. Adding direct to a parameter is hard baking the preset to be that sound only.
@@demishellen thanks for taking the time to explain ❤️

using vital you could compose an entire song just from hitting one keystroke, It seems like. it would just be tons of effects and sliders and LFO's and incredibly hard to edit anything
You could make a basic elements in multiple instances as there only 3 oscillators and one sample lane. Rapid would be better for a full track. 😎
@@demishellen oh I should look into that too, it sounds interesting
good lesson
good video!
are you okey with your health? your eyes look very very tired :(
i cant follow along without the step sequence you pasted at the beginning... :( \
You can if you set the grid to 8 x 12 at the top of the LFO and use the line tool to draw in the steps. 🙂
@@demishellen thanks
At least play the sound you want to create before diving into how to make it. Jeez!
Ha ha
do some depeche mode sound please
