Apple would have said it's irreparable and the customer needs to buy a new device or they would replace the motherboard and charge the customer 2/3 the price of the product.
But remember, it's only because they care for their customers 😊

Best Buy just downloaded all my pictures from my iPad onto it and I was planning to have tec guy from work add office 365 on it with all my lesson plans and power points from 23 years of teaching art. I’m retiring in June and I didn’t want to lose all my files and power points. I plan on teaching private lessons and workshops with them. It would really mess me up because when I turn in my work computer, they wipe out all my files. I’m not sure if I should try to get my money back or what. Ahhh!

One thing I always had concerns about was the scale of the components becoming so Small, that _'Usually'_ innocuous things such as 'Dust', Insects and other small 'Particles' can become Huge issues over time, depending on how cooling & ventilation is done. I've always held Apple in high regard for their standards but it reached a point where Scale can work adversely

On my 2017 MBP the keyboard never worked properly. I only used it stationary with an external keyboard so it didn't matter too much. After I replaced it with a more powerful Linux desktop, I intended to use it on the couch a bit, but it turned out half of the touchpad doesn't work even though I have never used it before. I then installed it as a GitHub worker node, but after a while it died completely and can't even be turned on anymore.

Apple would not send another keyboard until shipment “confirmed” lost. Sonoma is a work in process with major issues. Try to down load and it keeps freezing up. They do not care any more.
