Thanks for sharing your knowledge Alex, many of us are not even thinking about opening a repair shop, but it's nice and entertaining to see a repair master doing his job, greetings from Colombia!
I've got OCD, and I had difficulties with that in the past. But since I'm working as an electronics tech, and working with microscopic stuff, sometimes, after working on something, fiddling around with it for an hour even, you just have to say "I DON'T CARE! Do whatever ya want ya stupid SMD's!" and move on with life. Eventually your desire to save time will override your OCD, because wasting time can cause more anxiety than my OCD in that occasion lol
As shrewd as you seen at times, you always put a smile on my face especially with the sarcasm. But you are the teacher and we watching are the students. Shukran.
Oh, you went from "better than factory" to "unique". My repairs are usually "unique" and seldom "better than factory". Not pretty but it will work. Thanks for all your videos, i learned so much from them!!
i am not into repairs and i just like the guy talking and i have learned a few things already, and this is the best kind of advertisment you cant get more human than this man and he would make a great teacher
I started doing component level not so long ago, and already I've replaced a charging port, a power button, a dead cap in a Retina iMac, and more! You are my main inspiration! Keep going your work is just amazing 🤩
I've just started my business into repairing laptops after a small while of learning how to repair other less complicated devices and I'm actually enjoying your videos learning how to work and repair these devices, Thank you from heart - From Syria
Same with cars, people get embarrassed to tell the truth. No problem, sif your a pro you don't expose that vulnerability. I love watching you. You keep customers data private.
Hey Alex, ive been watching your content for a bit now, and started thinking of maybe trying to start doing some repairs. How would you recommend someone get started? I have a little experience soldering (not micro yet). Also i went to school for engineering and feel ive gained more practical knowledge from watching your videos than from a lot of my classes, so thank you very much!
For me, your videos serve 2 main purposes. To educate me about how to do similar work. And, they serve as a CV/Resume of what you can do so I know what tasks I can send to you.
I love watching all your videos there is so much to learn thank you for taking the time to record all this and blessing us with your library of knowledge ❤
The long load at "BIOS" on this one was due to RAM Training to pick an XMP Profile. The short circuit where it was would have initiated/simulated a BIOS reset and this initiated the RAM Training which takes time for sure😉
@@patricksewell2010 Not necessarily the short circuit. The battery going flat/being disconnected will do the same thing as it has to re-learn. My older Dell G3 3779 GTX 1060 machine does it. I recently had to replace the palmrest, the hinge area collapsed, it was a complete rebuild, the first boot POST took ages, it power cycled several times!
Someone may say that he doesn't see any water damage because it could be a laptop used by the family, so he doesn't know EVERYTHING which may have happened to the unit. 6:18, depending on the circuit, the three caps in parallel aren't just for redundancy, but if they are different values, they may be used to reduce ripple in the supply at different frequencies. No way all three of those are the same value.
I love this golden channel i've learned a lot of it .i wanna buy these soldering iron you used in this video but when serached on your website didnt find it or it may be out of stock .best regards from an overseas fan❤
He does overseas but the USPS postage is an absolute joke. I wanted to buy stuff from him, but the postage is extortionate, USPS are fraudsters! Not Alex's fault but he's losing himself custom.
Alex dint worry about the comment you told that one person asking you to don't explain the fault in detail actually Alex you are spreading your knowledge to others which gains your knowledge and confidence good bro go bless you 🌹💕💖👍💐💐🏵️🌺
What's up with new asus rog laptop models keep having short circuit issues. The old one that I brought lasted me a good seven years and the new one that I got lasted merely a year, seems like they don't make them like they used to anymore 😢
Spiritual Law no #1 you must give to be able to receive. In any business, if you drive Uber, give people free water, chips, give them your time. If they want to stop and get a burger, because their day was bad, just stop if it will take 10 mins or less, my point is you can give whatever is in your capacity to give. You will get way more than you can contain.
I can imagine the customer saying in advance about water damage. Because when you send stuff back to manufacturers and you have normal warranty. They always tried to blame it on the customer and they say it has water damage because that always void any type of warranty. so they dont have to repair it unde warranty or they can send you a big fat invoice for repairing..
no you have 3 caps in parallel to act as a band trap for different frequencies. The fact that they "add up "to a set value in not what they are doing. they act to trap transients at different frequencies. you will see this when you have several 100 UF caps, with a 100n or 10 n across them. , They aint 'adding up" the capacitance. ,since an electrolytic is +-20% so 100n is FA. The 100n is there to trap high speed noise, long before the electrolytic can "strong arm" the transient.
I was about to say that capacitors have to be measured out of circuit, then you mentioned that, thankfully lol. Caps measured in circuit, generally, will not yield the correct value.
It happens to me😂 sometimes i forgot to plug in the fan connector to the motherboard after replacing thermal paste my customer laptop. And yeah i got heartbeat little bit🤣
Hi there, I have the exact same laptop but my issue is the bsod chain. 13:14 my OCD just hit cause those capacitors are not lined up straight and parallel 😂😭
I've got OCD, and I had difficulties with that in the past. Mine too 😂
Idk if I have it but I can relate 😂
"Better than factory" was not uttered this episode. A first for me.
You got all reason, the more. You teach the more you got more customers 'cause they know you're the best one.
As shrewd as you seen at times, you always put a smile on my face especially with the sarcasm. But you are the teacher and we watching are the students. Shukran.

I love this man's witty straight forward nature. He reminds of me my dad from the middle East.

Powering up was suspenseful but at the end, Alex triumphant over the bad guys. Roll credits.
This time worse than factory ;-)
Bio Shock
*New addition coming to the product line? Northridge Fix Signature Edition... Cheers!*
That's why we stay with you because you're sharing everything 😍😍😍
Same with cars, people get embarrassed to tell the truth. No problem, sif your a pro you don't expose that vulnerability. I love watching you. You keep customers data private.
Truly amazing work. Love the touch. Maybe you can start adding a NF Capacitor sticker on all the boards you repair, so the bad guys learn.
I like the repair analysis and tecnique and sense of humor😂

repaired by northridge fix ITS NOW STYLISH worth more than you paid for it
Yes you clean thermal paste, and after that you put new thermal paste on, or thermal pads, depending on situation. But as you say. Knowledge!
Yeah, you don't want to reuse old thermal paste. It's usually all dried out.
I always, when i saw always, have a chuckle when you say 'flying out to the 9th dimension'
Very informative, loved the banter, "Say hello to the bad guy, now say goodbye to the bad guy!"
For me, your videos serve 2 main purposes. To educate me about how to do similar work. And, they serve as a CV/Resume of what you can do so I know what tasks I can send to you.
I am not watching for the fix, it's an art in my eyes.
I love watching all your videos there is so much to learn thank you for taking the time to record all this and blessing us with your library of knowledge ❤
Awesome video :). Most of the ones I get have dead GPU :(
Thanks North fix for sharing knowledge am always advancing in my tech job here on Uganda.
Good job. It would be great to see desktop motherboard repear too. I have a dead motherboard and I struggle with it lol.
You are on of the great repairman and teacher 👨🏻🏫
I hope one day I will see my laptop get video and repaired. It deserves some TLC and limelight. And of course to be BETTER THAN FACTORY.
Fantastic job NF
Nice repair! The Asus ROG BIOS takes long to load and has this surprising screech.
especially those ryzen 6000 and 7000 series
The long load at "BIOS" on this one was due to RAM Training to pick an XMP Profile. The short circuit where it was would have initiated/simulated a BIOS reset and this initiated the RAM Training which takes time for sure😉

12:48 had me rolling. Love the content you guys. Your work is inspirational (until I look up the cost of a good microscope)
Haha love that line. Come for the repair, stay for the comedy.
Hello. At 13:42 you test the side I thought was ground. Why did it not show a short and or beep? Are you seeing who's paying attention?
Is all this work done without removing the board from the plastic laptop case? Is it ok generally to do soldering without removing the board first?
I don't think it's a problem with small surface mount caps. Just don't leave your soldering job like he did here.
Best teacher we have today.
Brand new to your channel, i see that ur a skilled person with soldering, do you still happen to repair nintendo switchs?
1:47 Maybe a stupid question. Do you also change the customer's automatically new thermal paste every time or not?
You are supposed to renew paste every time. Otherwise paste gets gaps and bubbles in it.
علي فخر لكل عربي في المجال نتمني لك التوفيق
if i close to your country i come to Taking a corse
alex is the best in his feild
Damn that soldering work on the caps😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We started replacing caps in tube circuits....and here we are again.
I am watching your Vedo. I can learning something even English very clear thank you 🎉
Enjoyed this one, and I appreciate your store.

Can’t better than factory on that solder job. Lol, thank you for sharing you knowledge
that skip heartbeat hits me too...XD
great job btw!
HAVE YOU REPAIRED ANY SAGE ESPRESSO PCBs?
I'm not a hardware guy, but this is very interesting. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
Great Video! 👍
I always imagine a video to the outro music where Mr. Bad Cap got defeaded (Pablo)
Mama Cap is amazing. She gives birth to so many twins or triplets or quadruplets and so on and so forth.
I love this golden channel i've learned a lot of it .i wanna buy these soldering iron you used in this video but when serached on your website didnt find it or it may be out of stock .best regards from an overseas fan❤
Alex taught me about capacitors today.
great work and knowledge as always alex learned alot from u and thecod3r
Great job boss
I'm very interested in this kind of job
Do you also ship from your webshop to overseas? Or USA only?
He does overseas but the USPS postage is an absolute joke. I wanted to buy stuff from him, but the postage is extortionate, USPS are fraudsters! Not Alex's fault but he's losing himself custom.

how can I contact you I have a problem with my SSD m2 WD Black SN770 1TB

Suggestion: you and other electronics fixers on YT do collab with TronixFix (and maybe his wife) owing to his current health situation.
Good job...

Every time I see a successful Asus rog fixed it makes me sad that you weren't able to fix mine.
I click the “Like” button on all NF videos.
You do amazing work
13:11 That's definitely better than factory. 😁
So I missing cap will still let a laptop run but what if you remove a sorted mosfet will the laptop run?
depends on where the mosfet at
thanku teacher

Hello, I have a Nintendo Switch OLED that turns on but the screen remains black but in the dock if it gives an image you know it can be
The uF king returns!
Is there any reason why there are 3 parallel capacitor instead of one 15uF?
The heat!
Excellent work, The 9th Dimension, LOL
Great Job 👍
Watching this video on an ASUS ROG laptop, so really appreciate knowing you can fix it if I drop in the bathtub
Good job
