I started watching the Cowboys in '06 when I was still in middle school. Romo had just taken over for Bledsoe and the Cowboys were the talk of the league because of that mid-season shift at QB. For all of the slander and criticism Romo took for being the starting QB of the world's most famous football team, no one can deny that had some incredible moments to his name, this being one of them.
What a convenient year for you to start watching the Cowboys, I can only imagine how you felt when Romo fumbled that snap in the playoffs at Seattle, and I mean this in a good way because even I can’t believe the turn of events that play caused
Love me some Tony Romo. Under rated for sure. Not gonna be in the HOF. But has earned it. I blame Jerry for putting such crap teams around him for so many seasons. There were 3 straight years of 8-8. Those were 5 win teams. Romo got them to 8. Maybe 3 seasons total here and there that Romo had a team capable of going deep in the playoffs. He certainly traded his health for knowledge of the game. He's said it himself, when he finally started figuring it out and was able to really read defenses is when his body started breaking down. In the early days, he was physically gifted and was out there playing around and just having a good time. When the injuries started piling up is when the game started slowing down for him.
Chad Pugh the early Garrett seasons 11 and 12 were rebuilding years....they never would admit it but it what it was. Romo took the blame for everything even though he was fantastic in 2011 minus a couple of bad plays vs Detroit and the Jets...the 06 through 09 teams were good enough to win the super bowl. The organization in various let down the team after parcells left. It’s a bummer.

One of my favorite Romo plays. I hate that he never got a ring. And god do i miss Texas Stadium. That place was old but it was all about football. Not art collections and Victoria secret.
The triplets, jimmy johnson, that defense and the rest of that early 90's team was awsome! But to me, the Tony Romo years were the best, up to date! I still get sad when i see these videos, that Romo never got that ring, he deserved one! 👍
Romo may not have ever won a ring with us but he will always be one of my all time favorites to play for the Cowboys. I think this game was week 4 for the Cowboys and this was the game where I was sold on Romo. It was a very sad day when he retired but at the same time, I am excited to hear him calling the games.
I'm not the type of person that will buy in on a QB or any other player after one season. He came in in '06 and took over for Bledsoe. It's not uncommon for a player to have a good season and never get back to that level of play.
I can't say Tony is my favorite Cowboy QB, but I can say I've enjoyed watching him as much as Roger and Troy. He's a not quite perfect combination of the two.
One of the fun days at the old stadium. This was the day people realized this team was pretty good and would score a lot of points. I remember this day at the stadium vividly
I loved ROMO.....defended him every step of the way....pisses me off he never got that ring b/c I thought he had a HOF career had he done it. And SOmehow ELi got 2......I can't stand to think of it
It's a bummer for all of us. That is just the way it goes. Eli IMO is deserving of the hall and should go in on the first opportunity. He was fantastic on the road in those two super bowl years. Very much like aikman in having all his postseason success in two or three seasons.
@@timmyjohnson7954 I'll be honest, he out gunned the greatest QB ever in two SUper Bowls, that's 1st ballot HOF. NFL HOF pisses b/c it really takes itself too damn serious. Players that damn well should get don't and the way they dangle it it front of them is some horse shit
What's crazy about watching this drive now is seeing coaches on the sideline. You have Garret when he was the OC and Linehan when he was the HC of the Rams. Now Garrett is HC of Cowboys and Linehan is the OC of the Cowboys. How things have changed.
It took Jerry not winning a championship with Romo to realize he wasn't a good GM. He shouldve realized that when Parcells had to come in and turn the entire ship around
Bill Parcells to Babe Laufenberg in the summer of 07...."Once I am gone you will never know I was there" Jerry didn't like being tense in his own office...he didn't like being held accountable for the product on the field by someone on his own side.
Timmy Johnson yeah this organizations fear of accountability is disgusting. Even during this past season with JG saying he didn’t tell Tavon to fair catch the ball in the Vikings game. Hopefully McCarthy can Instill accountability thru every level of the organization.
If romo just got one superbowl ring, he would he 2nd cousin to God, in Dallas. While i don't think he'll be another mostly forgotten "Danny White," his legitimacy as a color commentator broadcaster might be his ultimate legacy.
Not fair to compare him to Danny White and its Tiring seeing people constantly do it. Danny White took over a championship team led by Tom Landry. They were the premiere franchise, they were ahead of their time in scouting and scheming. Tony Romo took over in the middle of a season marred by off the field nonsense and unreal expectations. All of that shit was put on him in october of 2006 and he would carry it until the day he retired. He went from Bill Parcells, Tony Sporano and Sean Payton and chris palmer in 06 to Wade and Garrett....then had to sufffer through the wade firing and transition to Garrett who decided to rebuild the offense from day one in 11. Romo took the brunt of that also. He got absolutely destroyed in some games in 11 and 12 and that was from the team in a mini rebuild on the offensive side. Danny White had a dream situation. Best coach in the league with one of the best front offices and scouting departments that had already won multiple championships. Romo got stuff like the 09 draft, Terrell Owens screaming at him and calling him a racist, then had his personal life invaded over and over again. Please stop comparing Tony Romo to Danny White.
Timmy, this channel is amazing. Do you happen to have Brad and Babe's call of the 2007 Bills game? It was a Monday night game and Romo threw 5 ints, Tony Curtis recovered the onside, and Folk kicked the game winner twice.
Michael Pierce I agree and would love to make it or be a part of something like this for Romo. I wrote a treatment for a Romo vs Eli documentary but haven’t seriously persued it any further

One of my favorite Romo plays. I hate that he never got a ring. And god do i miss Texas Stadium. That place was old but it was all about football. Not art collections and Victoria secret.
HES AMAZING
HES SO UNDERRATED
“Romo Trying to pull a mcnabb” 😂😂😂
10:00 "Fuck it, no one's open, I got this."
Tony is my favorite qb of all time
awesome.. thanks for sharing
I think this is most epic drive of Tony Romo in his career
Noticed Scott Linehan as head coach of the Rams that day/year. Now he is on our side.
Wife and I were at this game. I literally caught the game sealing pick by carr in a picture on my phone lol
It was a very sad day when he retired but at the same time, I am excited to hear him calling the games.
it took you until this game to be sold on Romo?
I'm not the type of person that will buy in on a QB or any other player after one season. He came in in '06 and took over for Bledsoe. It's not uncommon for a player to have a good season and never get back to that level of play.
dallasfanb I can relate to that. For me, it was when Deshaun Watson went to New England and Seattle.
This man was the man.
I can't say Tony is my favorite Cowboy QB, but I can say I've enjoyed watching him as much as Roger and Troy. He's a not quite perfect combination of the two.
Romo is a great quarterback
Spoilers: Jason Garrett wastes Tony’s career and claps the whole time.
Lol for St Hood! That was the funniest thing said in this video!
I was at this game and the crowd went insane during and well after that play.
@ 7:22 ITS HIS FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE JINXED US AND GOT US STUCK WITH THIS DAK BULLSHIT OVER ROMO!!!!!!!!!!!! LETS GET HIM!!!!!
Love you, miss you Tony.
I like having the radio audio synch'd up.
Romo had no help those years. How many drops did he have to endure?
How far could Romo have gone on that high snap play if Barber was smart enough to know what was going on?
This should be known and THE ROMO DRIVE.
my favorite memories
Jerrys not paying Dak...THANK GOD Romo is 40 this year.....maybe, JUST MAYBE
Can you post Tony Romo's GW drive from the 2004 preseason game at Oakland?
I need to find the game. I have it on a hard drive somewhere. As soon as I find it I will post it.
What's crazy about watching this drive now is seeing coaches on the sideline. You have Garret when he was the OC and Linehan when he was the HC of the Rams. Now Garrett is HC of Cowboys and Linehan is the OC of the Cowboys. How things have changed.
Linehan was the Rams Head Coach in 07 actually!
Yeah, pretty crazy considering how things are now.
And yet he’s still the GM
@@timmyjohnson7954 I always felt like that wade to Garrett was so weird, couldn't imagine what dudes in the locker room thought
I don't miss that stadium at all. Hated that huge shadow.
Timmy, this channel is amazing. Do you happen to have Brad and Babe's call of the 2007 Bills game? It was a Monday night game and Romo threw 5 ints, Tony Curtis recovered the onside, and Folk kicked the game winner twice.
Back when Romo could actually run.
There needs to be a documentary on this drive. The Drive.
Michael Pierce I agree and would love to make it or be a part of something like this for Romo. I wrote a treatment for a Romo vs Eli documentary but haven’t seriously persued it any further
romo literally was this drive ◡̈
