Bless Hannah Hilgendorf’s heart. I imagine I would testify in some combination of the first sister, Hailey, and the mom and dad. Stoic, clear, attentive to details and clearly showing how much they cared for Bart and Krista. But I’d probably testify like Hannah - bouncing through all the emotions, memories with the deceased popping up, and realizing I hugged and tried to help their murderer.
Well said!! She was super sweet and definitely mortified by what she was experiencing 😓 Heartbreaking when you think about this kid you grew up with and loved like a cousin!

Hannah has so much replaying through her mind and she picked up on so many things that day. She is literally reliving it while on the stand. The attorney should have checked in on her, but she didn't. Hannah seems like she wants to make sure she doesn't leave ANY detail out which obviously is understandable. Another thing that may be hard for others to understand, when you are a highly intuitive person, it's hard to put that into words without sounding nuts.
I think most ppl understand intuition is a real thing. Unfortunately though their are some who look down on it cause it more associated with femininity and women. It just means a gut feeling and I'll always listen to mine has yet to steer me wrong.
Watching Jane breaks my heart…best friend of 39 years…going to be hard to adjust to life. Who to call when you get good news. Who to call when you need a friend….makes me sick this monster took these amazing people from all those who loved them for selfish reasons.
I honestly can't imagine me and my best friend met in middle school also. We literally talk at least 3 times a week. I basically tell her everything and at this point we are basically family. It's only been 13 years but almost 40 I'd probably be so depressed if something happened to her.
This family is soooo honest it must be gut wrenching to have to testify here!!! Just amazing! As hard as it was… Bart and Krista would be soooo proud of all four of you!!! Blessings
Been catching up on this trial. Listening to the different testimonials makes me realize how necessary having good friends is. Just made me realize I need to make more family friends. Burt and Krista seemed like such amazing people. They were loved.
makes me sad i don't think i have people around who would notice if i went missing. I wonder when people would start to worry i don't think it would be for months..
Hannah vibed the tragedy in the house. Very intuitive of her. Nicely done Hannah. I liked the "duh your parents are missing". She has a cute personality.
I crack up every time she says 'No thank you" I'm grateful they aren't asking questions for the sake of it like in a lot of trials. I often get the impression that the defence is trying to make cases last longer so they earn more.
@@BellaLeoLicorice Yes I like the way they don't try to discredit the witnesses, because there is no point and it just brings a nastiness which is unnecessary. I think it shows class which defences rare do.
They’re defense lawyers. Their job is to prove innocence no matter the crime. Not just let their client go to jail. I’m not saying at all he shouldn’t. Because it obvious he’s guilty. But I’m just saying they need to at least attempt to do their job 😅
@@brookebailey107 what were they going to do? No one who backs up his side of the story exists 😂 “The defense calls Daniel Speith, Aaron Hoover, Alyssa Brandt (or Brant depending on the day), and Tom Sellsnick to the stand… oh wait.” There was no way to discredit the prosecution’s witnesses and they knew it. The evidence was too overwhelming. Not saying they are the cream of the crop either, they are public defenders. Chandler didn’t have the money to hire even a half-decent defense attorney who would attempt to put up some sort of fight. He, and therefore they, were doomed to fail from the get-go.
Oh, poor Jane... Good grief. She and Krista were obviously like sisters. I simply cannot fathom the pain these people are experiencing. The fallout of the murderer's actions has been extensive.
I don't know Jane but I feel like I can see her entire beautiful spirit shining through.... and in something so matter-of- fact as a trial. It's like she's still that teenage girl in high-school with Krysta talking abt her BFF ... and everytime she starts getting upset I just want to hug her 🥺
14:28 - Oops! The Defense attorney gets caught repeating a LIE that Chandler obviously told her! That Michael Hilgendorf had found a SHELL CASING.... whoa.... EMBARRASSING!!! 🤣
I’d be so mad if I was her, I’m sure she gave Chandler a talking to. That was for sure embarrassing he was straight up lying to his counsel and showed everyone and the jury that
Omg I love Hannah ... she's straight up REAL ! After seeing her mom on the Stand it's clear she's just like her momma and her twin sister is like her daddy :)
After watching this I see a lot of internal pain this has caused a lot of their life long friends and you can tell that they were more like an extended family.... He apparently got caught up in his lies to his parents about school and jobs and was too immature to own up to his mistakes. His lies got too big to handle. Red Flags everywhere. He didn't even try to lie , came up with the booze and gambling knowing full well they weren't the kind to drink and gamble . Couldn't see the Detectives would ask the people he told was their closets friends ? Yep that is how a Narsisist Works. They believe everyone believes them. Seems very immature .
This whole trial makes me want to grow my friend group so much. Makes me want to form a real community for my children. These people seem to have been doing all the right things, things I thought were long gone by now in America.
Omg Me too :( I love in Jersey and I feel like everyone is out for themselves, like it's very hard to find new genuine friends as an adult, meanwhile all my childhood friends have moved on and doing their own thing, even though i would kill for a sleepover 😔 (... well not kill for one, poor choice of words)
This is why they cannot defend him. They can't believe a word from him. I'm sure they begged Chandler to plead guilty, but he thought he was smarter than everyone else.
@Brad Jamesfirst of all she’s 25. Secondly two people she seen as her family were not only shot to death but hacked into pieces. Thirdly they hugged and helped that sick freak so I’m sure they are mentally shaken up by this horrible horrible situation.
@Brad James It's definitely a tough watch and every other word is "like." But I'm trying to sympathise with her for her situation. But I might have to skip parts too.
Hanna...Bless her heart. It seems she, unfortunately, totally soaked up the true vibe of everything. Thank goodness for her and kudos to her for being able to tell what she knew! She was the best witness! What a true example of real feelings for a loved one, especially in such a traumatic experience! I wish I could give her a hug. Prayers to this family! Wow!
These twin girls are so sweet and cute. You can see how they both take after both parents. Just trying to make dinner for their friend they thought was hurting. You can tell they just really loved their family and friends. All these people cared so much about these two victims. I hope he feels like the biggest jerk and guilty as heck the rest of his life. He ruined a lots of lives.
Yah, Hanna Hilgendorf! The first witness that truly showed suspicion from the onset! She seemed whacked, but I think she was an intuitive, no holds barred, truth teller!
I think Hannah testify genuinely helped. Even though it was everywhere at times she really gave great details without it feeling like a calculated answer . Which makes you want to believe her even more .
At times I was imagining Hannah was just coming to certain realizations about her interactions with Chandler as she spoke about them on the witness stand. Particularly about what he said to them regarding not having to give their phones to police. I also realized I’ve never actually seen someone talking so fast that I seriously thought she might either start hyperventilating or pass completely out from lack of oxygen.
Reminds me of Joel Guy Jr. Never worked a day in his life, his parents supported him. When they decided to retire and said he'd have to support himself (at almost 30) he murdered them.
I’d like to know what studies were done on his head after his fall. Maybe prior head trauma. I’ve noticed slight synergies between cases where plaintiffs in trials of this nature have suffered somewhat serious head traumas in life.
The second twin to testify was the high energy one who is hyper sensitive to changes in other people’s behavior or vibes. It is not in her nature to take anything which feels off kilter in stride, she instead goes into internal emotional turmoil and time seems to slow down for her and the tension she detects is palpable. I know this because I feel too much as welland it is draining emotionally. God bless her and her family.
When she mentioned not wanting to be there from the moment she walked in I knew exactly what she meant. Also forgetting the question half way through answering, I definitely know how that feels! I bet she’s also very creative.
@@sarahberry6080 she was nervous all along, and honestly, who could blame her? She seems to be a sensitive, smart, genuinely good person. I love her and the entire Hilgendorf family. ❤️🥺 I don't know about you, but I would be lowkey nervous - highkey distraught from all the events; the hienous crime their "Chazz" committed, having butchered their Aunt Krista and Uncle Bart. I don't think anyone who was affected by that nightmare was supposed to "nail" anything. Hanna's testimony was brave and genuine. So was the rest of the family's. ❤️🩹
The second twin was a nervous wreck, rambling and over telling. She gave both heartbreaking and heartfelt testimony. She obviously truly loved her aunt and uncle.
Hanna testified the best. Those girls reflect well on their parents! Both sets of parents are good people - it’s a shame that this son could take 2 good people away from OUR society.
It feels like Bart and Krista are looking down, watching this trial and are proud to have such loving, caring, sweet, honest friends. I hope they are! I think everyone needs people like the Hilgendorfs in their lives.

The pause that Jane Hilgendor takes when asked what kind of parents Bart and Krista were was so heart wrenching. They sounded like two special and amazing people 😔🙏🏼💙
These are the best testimonies in the case so far, the ladies were thorough and genuine. The two twins are so different from one another, that always is so interesting to me. You can tell where the second twin gets her spunk, the mom.
What sweet girls! Obviously upset and sad, coming across so incredibly candid. Their parents should be proud of how beautifully these young women turned out. A stark comparison to Chandler
I think Hanna Hilgendorf’s testimony was a HUGE detriment to the Defense. Hanna comes across as extremely sensitive, caring and nurturing. Her replies were genuine and spontaneous. Hanna, although very nervous, (I would be too!) spoke with conviction and integrity. Great job Hanna! I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. 💜

Parenting is the hardest job! Dont seem to what Bart & Christa did wrong! Except teach Chandler THE TRUTH ALWAYS COMES OUT IN THE WASH, EVEN AFTER THE SPIN CYCLE. They too, believed in his lies!
Hailey is more like her dad calm and does think to much into things and Hanna is more like the mom anxious and aware of her surroundings. Sweet family.
A really sad thing I am noticing about this trail is the ppl closest the moms best friend and the brother talk about the parents as if they are still alive in the present tense instead of the past. Maybe speaking about them like that helps them cope a little better. Losing somebody to murder instead of a natural death is a very abrupt feeling making their death 10x harder to accept.
Oh Hanna, she was so nervous she just kept talking and her mind couldn't keep up with all the events flooding her. Could also be she is terrified of public speaking, but this is to a TEE how I would be if I needed to testify against someone I considered family. I felt bad for her knowing how anxious she was and how awful it feels. She pulled through strong with some of her convictions, though!
Wow. Chandler seemed to bring out the nurturing, ,motherly side in so many women! At least four now have testified that they wanted to help Chandler and make sure he had his dinner. He had so much help!
Absolutely. Probably felt like a horror movie. The change in personality of her friend. She knew Chandler well enough to know he was lying. Also justifies her nervousness on the stand while Speaking her mind in front of him.
That sweet little Hannah obviously the other twin is the one that speaks for her I know twins like this one is strong and talks a lot for the other and the other one is quiet shy and usually has anxiety less her heart
I’ve been watching all the interrogations and videos surrounding this case. Glad to get to this one where it shows the real side of Krista and Bart cause I just knew they were way different than Chandler and Cat explained. I understand Cat explained them that way though because Chandler’s lies to her about them. Such a sad story.
I feel bad for Hanna, I think she’s a true empath. So many people claim to be but this is very typical. Mistaken for nerves or ADD. She’s feeling PTSD from the trauma.
I feel bad for her also. I haven’t gotten through her full testimony yet, but I wish the prosecution would let her take a minute or so to breathe. It seems like she feels like the weight of the world is on her shoulders at the moment.
_empaths_ That is also how Chandler has been described in the past. There is no such thing as an _empath._ It's from sci-fi, i.e. emotional telepathy. There are only people that serve their own interests, even if those are altruistic.
@@a_lucientes Well yeah, if I’m understanding you correctly, an empath wants the best for others because it makes the empath feel good. We don’t like the way we feel when people are suffering thus, we don’t want them to suffer.
I feel bad that she's supposedly a nurse. She doesn't seem to be able to be around trauma at all, and that's part of a nurses job. She can't even follow the basic questions.
Awe i really like the second twin Hanna. She caught his vibe and def felt something wasnt right. She wanted to leave when the detectives left. She may be an empath.
Being an empath isn’t anything special lol literally almost everyone has some level of empathy or sense of judgement….it’s human nature. Anyone who calls themselves “empath” are usually narcissistic and attention seeking.
Chandler's attorney seems to keep asking questions or pushing for answers based on lies Chandler has told her and ends up making it worse for him. I noticed this yesterday also. Given Chandler's history of lying this seems foolish to me.
She should know better, it's clear that Chandler is a pathological liar & believes his lies work. Casey Anthony's lawyer didn't listen to a word she said, he made up a story that explained Casey's horrible behavior to the jury, and she was acquitted. Chandlers lawyer should have immediately acknowledged the lies he told everyone & gave a reason why. It would have taken that ammunition away from the Prosecution, but instead the Prosecution got to be the ones telling the jury about why Chandler did those suspicious things. But somebody told me they're Public Defenders (not sure if it's true), so they may have tons of other cases to work. Prosecutors have MUCH LESS work than Defenders, they get to focus & spend the time they need without other cases suffering. And the tiny budgets for experts & research given to the Defense for the whole year is what Prosecutors get to spend on one case. It's very unfair & slanted against the Defendant, it should be even. I think I would have asked to defend myself.....

Well said!! She was super sweet and definitely mortified by what she was experiencing 😓 Heartbreaking when you think about this kid you grew up with and loved like a cousin!
I’ve known Hanna forever she’s the sweetest, they both are, I feel so bad for them all
Agree! I think she is precious. She is obviously very intuitive.
Bless her heart she seems like such a sweetheart. The whole family does. All of their friends who’ve testified and spoke so highly of them truly speaks to their character and what great people I imagine they were. So sad they’re gone I hope Mitchell has a good support system he’s gonna need it!
Yes it is
Im like that
Absolutely spot on.
Yep. Not sure if I'm intuitive but U def don't think there's words for my thoughts on what I've seen

It’s so weird…I just wrote the same thing and I hadn’t even seen your comment! I’m disturbed by this whole thing! Absolute monster

You know the defence is doomed when they don't want to cross-examine prosecution witnesses.
The love Krista’s friend had for her. She was lucky to have a friend like that.

Omg I love Hannah ... she's straight up REAL !
After seeing her mom on the Stand it's clear she's just like her momma and her twin sister is like her daddy :)
My thoughts exactly!
I was thinking the same thing.
They even have the same voice/ way of talking. It's so adorable actually.
If the witness immediately following Hannah is Hannah’s mother, Hannah is much more the adult wiman in the family.
This whole trial makes me want to grow my friend group so much. Makes me want to form a real community for my children. These people seem to have been doing all the right things, things I thought were long gone by now in America.

I feel bad for her also. I haven’t gotten through her full testimony yet, but I wish the prosecution would let her take a minute or so to breathe. It seems like she feels like the weight of the world is on her shoulders at the moment.
A lot of people with ADD are empaths. So it could be both.

I've never heard of someone being called an empath before this post... I absolutely agree with your last statement.
Chandler's attorney seems to keep asking questions or pushing for answers based on lies Chandler has told her and ends up making it worse for him. I noticed this yesterday also. Given Chandler's history of lying this seems foolish to me.
Extremely. It the first rule of thumb for a criminal attorney, if you don't know the answer to the question your about to ask, don;t ask it!
And I am sure his attorney didn't appreciate that he lied to her making her look wrong at every turn.
