    Thanks for the advice, this is the 1st time I have so much fish eye spot painting panels, I had 65 % humidity , water in hose and grease on surface, so next time I make sure those things are addressed, your technique helped a lot, plus spraying drop coat criss cross. Charcoal metallic single stage. Will be redoing anyways. Thanks

    Boring not at all see sir, a problem solver for a rookie like me. Now I can pull it out of the shop and show my neighbors. Great video, #1 on this subject.. I have a question I wonder what results would I get if I sand the second coat of clear before I do my final finish of clear?

    Thanks for this video. I have a hood that is kicking my butt with fisheyes. I have tried everything and they keep coming back. I tried your method last night and presto... they are gone even after laying another coat of paint on the hood.. hallelujah!!

    Thanks. I'm a mobile sprayer and suffer a lot of fish eyes in my clear coat. They are especially bad on black cars. I will try this method today and report back. Thanks

    I'm gonna try that, usually when I get fisheyes it's ALL over the panel. I paint in a big shared workspace where they spray wd-40 and a bunch of other BS......so I actually use Eastwood's Fish Eye Eliminator. it's the best out of many ive tried and it's only $20 for a pint and a little goes a long way. It helps level out the paint so I like it. I use it in my clear. Incase anyone out there is in a position like mine lmao

    So simple but genius. Wish I knew that before but I do now. Thanks for the video. I assume it works with clear as well but maybe less aggressive with the air?

    • @speedokoterefinishnetwork4937
      @speedokoterefinishnetwork4937  3 роки тому +4

      100% correct with clear coat fish eyes let the clear flash about 95% and then come back with another 2 lighter coats or simply dust some clear over the problem area (will require more wet sanding )

      @@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 thank you. I'm less scared of clear coat since I got fish eyes spraying it and sanded too much afterwards.

    Its a miracle i havent had fisheyes yet painting at home 🤞 but now I know how to handle it if I do. I guess before I seen this, I would have sanded it, cleaned it again and sealed it then paint again.
    Your way might be quicker🤔

    Tutorial much appreciated. Question please, off topic. I'm going to spray single stage white, should I spray the paint as one would spray clear coat or spray it like base coat? I'm referring to the gun speed over the substrate when making my passes. Thanks.

  • @B15SDMDESIGNS
    @B15SDMDESIGNS 4 місяці тому

    You basically have to drown and suffocate the fish eye. This is the best video of explaining how to deal with fish eyes in the paint work. Mist- force dry - mist- force dry - mist - wet coat. I believe the number of mist coats is dependant on how bad the fish eye is. Some require more than others.

    I'm going to redo my shelby gt sometime in the future. If I can get it super straight and perfect I'll go back to black. I've got competition orange on my mind though. It's a 2008 with 55k miles and it's a driver, not a garage or trailer queen. What's the name of the place where you order everything, even the base? Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm in WV probably painting in a makeshift booth at 80° heat at least and same with the humidity. Love your work man! I watch every video you put out and even push them to friends and family lol
