JPEGMAFIA has 3 other albums/mixtapes apart from these you haven't reacted too these being: Communist slow jams His first project under the Jpegmafia name. It was originally released with 28 songs then upped to 30 then slowly cut down to 22 over the years. Personally my second favourite Peggy project Darkskin manson Released very shortly after csj. It is a 15 track mixtape which is extremely industrial and experimental. Very underrated also imo. Black Ben Carson Jpegmafia's debut studio album released in 2016. It is a double album originally released with 22 songs but remastered and shortened to 19. The first 11 tracks very industrial and hard hitting on and the final 8 become much more ethereal and chill. Personally my favourite Peggy project. (Bonus) The 2nd Amendment A 51 minute collab ep with freaky. Again, very industrial and hard hitting sounding album. NOT ON VETERAN In 2017 while Peggy was working on veteran he made and released 8 singles that became some of his biggest songs (puff daddy ect). These where then compiled into the NOT ON VETERAN ep/mixtape. Devon era: Not gonna go into to too much detail but these are the devon hendryx albums definitely worth checking out: The rockwood escape plan (album) Heart emoji (ep) Generation Y (album) LISA (collab album with DATPIFFMAFIA/aka AIRDROPMAFIA/aka Enso Sinatra) JOECHILLWORLD Originally a 12 song album cut down to 10 over time. Game of the century, 1989 and laughing man have all been removed but they are all amazing songs Dreamcast Summer songs Peggy's first ever project made between 2007-2009. It is an instrumental album with beautiful production. It is often regarded as the "godfather of vaporwave" album as it predated the explosion of the genre. Ghost pop tape Ya already know.. Highly recommend checking out all of these they all are amazing. Peggy is truly one of the greatest artists of all time.
@@viz683 his best work predates the JPEGMAFIA moniker 100%, joechillworld dcs gpt and heart emoji all hav einsane songs the only problem is that they are so niche that there is no reason to
puff daddy did not come out in 2017, the NOT ON VETERAN compilation is most definitely retroactively dated as 2017, puff daddy itself came out in the second half of 2018 some time
Damn, I listened to most of these songs as they were coming out in 2020, and they’ve become very nostalgic for me. I’ve heard all of them probably 100 times and feel like I know every little sound in there, I can’t imagine what hearing this for the first time right now is like. I had a point to this comment but I kinda lost it, might come back to this lol Just really happy to see you listen to this and hearing your perspective, as well as getting a reason to revisit these songs again. They still sound so new and innovative, but also completely a product of their time in terms of peggy’s evolution, right between cornballs and LP
He changes his production methods each album. Scaring the hoes he used that old school sampler. EP2 was less sample heavy and more synths I’m assuming he played. Every album is a different sound and experiment.
There is this amazing album called pixel bath by Jean Dawson it’s such an amazing listen that’s so unique and combines tons of different genres it’s my favorite album of all time and I would love to see your reaction
i appreciate you uploaded these tonight, i hope that live show was great, i wanted to see peggy in halifax but he had to cancel due to a hurricane. idk if everyone would want to see it but id love to see bob listen to some of his favourite albums and share his personal experience with them, thats one of the cool parts of music, you can relate an era of your life to music that you heard around then.
You're in for a treat he puts on a great show. Saw him in a tiny venue right after Veteran came out and a MUCH bigger one right after LP came out and both shows were incredible.
i love all his albums but this specific EP is my favorite jpeg release. something about the weird playful energy it has - ever since LP! hes gotten a lot more aggressive and abrasive (in a good way) and so now looking back both the EPs are almost like a window into an alternate reality where he turned the other direction. & with how short they are the replayability is *crazy*, lot of times ill just put it on and listen to the whole thing while im taking a shower or walking to the corner store and back. happy to listen to whatever he drops at this point but part of me hopes he taps back into this vibe again one day because hes incredible at it
Hell yeah!! Been waiting for this for a long time. Slight (very large) correction tho, Bob you still gotta listen to his 2016 mixtape/album Black Ben Carson. No shot you don't like it, very heavy aggressive sound
I love living single because it gives me similar vibes of some of his older work as Devon hendryx which you should rlly listen to and I’d love to see u react to 😊
As you're listening to all of JPEGMAFIA's work I beg you listen to Black Ben Carson. You always say how much you love seeing how much he's evolved and Black Ben Carson is very different from even Veteran and it's his earliest album under the name JPEGMAFIA. If you want to go any earlier he was also an artist from even before he was JPEGMAFIA and he was called "Devon Hendryx" (which is just a respelling of his real name) and made very different types of music.
Please listen to Black Ben Carson (his first studio album)!!! PLEASEEE!!! ITS SO GOOD!!! (Also listen to "There Will Be No Super-Slave" by Ghais Guevara!!!)
I recommend Joechillworld for a reaction just because it might be slight more entertaining for the audience with some more rap beats instead of the more chill relaxed ghost pop tape
@@moist5952 true, I still haven't forgiven him for those.....hell raising takes in the 64 album tournament stream, but he's getting even more stan like lol
I agree with the reason why you aren’t reacting to Ghost~Pop Tape. People swear that album is essential to the discography of Peggy but it isn’t. And JoeChillWorld is the better Devon Hendryx album.
i know it has nothing to do with jpeg but I think you would like ganger by veeze. it has clever lyrics over interesting beats and was one of the best rap albums of 2023
hype you’re getting around to finishing the Peggy catalog. would love reactions to his pre-Veteran stuff you haven’t listened to yet like 2nd Amendment, Black Ben Carson, and Communist Slow Jams.
unless I missed your Communist Slow Jams / Black Ben Carson reactions, you definitely haven't listened to the full JPEGMAFIA catalogue. the Devon Hendryx catalogue is a little overrated imho (as a peggy fan) but JOECHILLWORLD and Ghost Pop are both legit.
Hey Bob, I would be really excited if you would do a reaction to Immortal Technique and his album “Revolutionary Vol.2” and here is why: Immortal Technique is a raw and honest rapper from Harlem. His Peruvian background has made him experienced racism against latinos and that is one of the many things he talks about in his lyrics. His first studio album named “Revolutionary Vol.1” was released 2001 and was a very unique style of rap at the time with rough beats and producing but passionate lyrics about things that no other rapper nor musician really talked about. He is very much against big record labels and instead sold cds to the album on his own. He was offered a record deal once and his response was that he would agree and sign the papers if he was allowed to fuck the wives of all the workers on the record label. Vol.2 is his second studio album and it introduced finer beats and better quality than his first. I love this album and many fans think that it’s the best of the three albums he got. It offers more songs that say fuck the industry but he also talks about things like the path of cocaine from Peru all the way to USA and things he don’t like about the government. My favorite three songs from this album is: “One (remix)”, “leaving the past” and “You never know” - which is a really emotional story that I think will leave you in tears. I would love to see a reaction to his work and I really think that the world should be more aware of Immortal Technique. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
So glad JPEGMAFIA decided to shoutout Bob The Poppop for having no hair in the song "BALD!"
