I love AMHAC, but imo his best work is the ghost pop tape. It is under his Devon hendryx persona, and it’s a completely different style to his other work. Couldn’t recommend it more.
One of my personal favorites of all time. This album has so many sounds that I can just get lost in. Peggy honestly is the only artist who rivals radiohead for me with how much I can just sit and listen to his music nonstop, and he’s damn near doing it solo. Glad that Peggy and Thom Yorke have spoken and both like each other’s work as they’re both different parts of more “weird” music that I LOVE so I’m glad they enjoy each other too. Great reaction
Saw some comments about that on the original video. I also saw the vieo of Peggy playing the album for Kenny and telling him about the remix. It was funny seeing Kenny's mind being blown 😂
I honestly think Veteran, AMHAC, and LP! are equal in quality. The haphazard nature of Veteran and AMHAC give them some really high highs but also some low lows (in my opinion). The dirty mixes can be a blessing and a curse. LP! shows Peggy *really* honing his craft, where the experimental and pop elements come together in consistently clean ways. A lot of my fav Peggy songs still sit on Veteran and AMHAC but LP! is his most satisfyingly consistent album to me
Bob you are such a nice guy!! I can tell how good of a father you are and how genuine you are with everybody!! Seem like a cool guy man! I love these videos keep it up man! So much fun seeing someone get lost in this world of music.
I didn’t see the Friday version but DOTS remix actually is from Kenny Beat’s show it’s just that Peggy used the verse under his own production. Peggy episode of DOTS was really enjoyable too
I’d highly recommend listening to The Ghost Pop Tape by Peggy. Its under the name Devon Hendryx but it’s peggy’s best. Its production blows any of his other work out of the water and truly is an experience.
Dammit dammit I hadn't finished watching the original version yet, I was using it as my reason to finally listen to everything from this album I hadn't heard yet, I'm gonna have to be quicker next time!! Love the content Bob
The baby shoes line is from a song by the UK band IDLES on one of there earlier tracks. Joe Talbot had lost a child, I think around the time of his mum's passing.
ur analysis for “life’s hard…” is spot on. peggy has said multiple times he always had the intentions of being solely a producer but rapped out of necessity bc nobody would rap on his beats. kinda crazy u got that out of a minute long track lol
I will legitimately pay you to react to Black Ben Carson, it's my favorite record by him and only 1 UA-camr has reacted to him, and he skips around a lot and it's a short video. I would love to see someone disect it please let me know if this is possible
Ayooo same. Black Ben Carson is so good, also my favorite. I'm sure Bob will get to it some day, sicne he really likes Jpeg, but perhaps it's be after stuff like LP!, EP!, and the Ghost Pop Tape
i would love for u to listen to the Ghost Pop Tape and then LP! because if u listen to ghost pop tape youll get a good taste of his old sound and LP! (his most recent album) is the culmination of all of his sounds.
Yo Bob you should react to The Roots' "Things Fall Apart" or to some A Tribe Called Quest, I think you would find them interesting it’s kinda different
first listened to the album when i was half asleep at 2 am, i didnt understand shit, dont even remember that night lmfao but i still know that was wild
hey Bob so some weeks ago i put a link of some drive that got deleted from the og reaction, but still going to say that the link was about a original/offline version of this album, it has other tracks in addition that were sold in a usb as a special gift from him
Yeah, it sucks man. I don't really understand why that happens. Like, if it's going to get blocked, why is it not blocked immediately? Why can it exist for 36hrs (or w/e) before it gets blocked? UA-cam makes no sense to me.
I totally understand if you do LP next in the JPEGMAFIA series, but I would love for you to go back and listen to his older stuff like Communist Slow Jams, Black Ben Carson, and The 2nd Amendment. only got half way through on the old edit of this but very glad you reuploaded it, even if it’s trimmed down a bit more
I still aways think about how the “let’s go “ screamed on thot tactics was Soulja boy winning a game of fortnite it so random but amazing same with something similar on garbage pale kids
You gotta react to a City Morgue album, they’re a duo who mixes trap and metal. I recommend their album Toxic Boogaloo. I think you’d really enjoy it as a rock fan :)
This doesn't need a dedicated reaction but I think you should listen to EP! and EP2! sometime. Less of a full experience but definitely good stuff from peggy
dude you gotta react to LP! OFFLINE version. it's his most recent project and his production is still top tier. on another way, to keep track of his progress, listen to EP! and EP2! both great records and experimental
He have done a community post for a "hunger games" type game for the next album, he would react to all of them at some time, house of balloons and astroworld was there
Hey if you wanttobe genuinely depressed listen to The Ghost Pop Tape Its an album he made when he was very close to suicide, and it takes you through the mind of someone who is a chronic consumer, and insanely lonely and depressed. Its really a unique experience.
You should review Sauce Twinz, In Sauce We Trust. Imo they did a lot to shape the sounds of the 2010's. Danny Brown turned me onto them time ago. It's fire but really different from everything you've reviewed. I think your channel is good but it would be interesting to see you breaking down albums of some street rappers and stuff that's tied into that culture too. Try out some Est Gee, 42 Dugg. Icewear Vezzo's last project Rich Off Pints 2 was dope. Be interesting to see your take on that stuff.
Bob, maybe an odd question.. but did you have a lot of anxiety and insecurity regarding losing your hair? I've always wanted to ask a Bald guy how that process was for them because I am going through that right now 😶
Really enjoyed this, and imo you haven't even covered his best work yet (LP! OFFLINE ;) ). JPEG is one of those rare few where the vision feels completely cohesive and unique If you want more hiphop where the soundplay is almost as important as the lyrical content, I feel like you should give the latest Injury Reserve and the work of Slauson Malone & Clipping a try, maybe in private, or maybe as a reaction. Keep it up!
You should give black ben carson a go, but if theres any version you should listen to its the original one cause the one on streaming services is basically worse in every way asides from one song compared to the original. First half of the albums is alright but the second half has some of peggys best material, easily got the best production as well imo
I was a little disappointed, not because of the review. The noticed popped in my feed as "All my heroes are..." I was ready for R. A. the Rugged Man "All My Heroes Are Dead".
It's not your fault but you've given Kendrick so much attention that you've never considered listening to his former group members. Ab-Souls' Control System, Schoolboy Q's Blank Face LP and Jay Rocks' albums all deserve listens from you. Respectfully

peggy is undoubtedly one of the most talented producers i’ve ever heard. seriously stunning production
One of the most talented artist
@@no1x945 undoubtedly
It's pretty wack ngl. Just sounds like a bunch of shit being thrown at a wall and seeing what sticks
@@ChildishGambeaner ok you can say it’s not to your taste but trust me Peggy knows what he’s doing 100%
@@zerois2801 it honestly doesn't sound like it. Lyrics are terrible in my opinion too. Idk maybe I gotta listen again

Absolutely.
I think Veteran and LP are masterpieces and I love this album too but it doesn't really feel like a masterpiece to me

The original/uncut video from Friday got nuked by UA-cam, y'all. Sorry. Hopefully you got the chance to see the full version.
Thnx for the vid
I did it was so great
I'm glad I saw
Post notifs came in clutch for me for once was able to catch the uncut
Glad to see the original video before, the reaction was great
coming back to this album after "i lay down my life for you" what a vibe
Now we wait for LP! I'm soooo excited for you to hear LP!, it's one of my favorite albums of all time, and its been out not even a year.
Fuck yes. So many bangers on there
The offline version is better
HELL FUCKING YES!! MY 2ND FAV OF ALL TIME FOR HIPHOP!
I love AMHAC, but imo his best work is the ghost pop tape. It is under his Devon hendryx persona, and it’s a completely different style to his other work. Couldn’t recommend it more.
People who recommend that album as a must listen also recommend the Ghost-Pop Tape movie unironically.
DOTS FREESTYLE was rapped in the DOTS show, he just made the beat for it
Saw some comments about that on the original video. I also saw the vieo of Peggy playing the album for Kenny and telling him about the remix. It was funny seeing Kenny's mind being blown 😂
1:06:56 perfectly said, he makes little worlds of sound
Brian Wilson has probably one of the most incredible ears for harmony and timbre. Pet Sounds is an all-time great album.
I honestly think Veteran, AMHAC, and LP! are equal in quality. The haphazard nature of Veteran and AMHAC give them some really high highs but also some low lows (in my opinion). The DOTS thing is from Kenny Beats! He did a freestyle on there which he remixed (the second half of the song specifically)
Can’t wait till you react to LP! It’s one of my favorite albums of all time
I saw him live not too long ago and he was so good. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels a weird personal connection with him lmao.

The baby shoes line is from a song by the UK band IDLES on one of there earlier tracks. Joe Talbot had lost a child, I think around the time of his mum's passing.

The Thot tactics outro is one of the most beautiful things I've heard
