  • If I could give just one golf lesson to golfers this one would be it. In my mind it's golf's only secret.
    "The behaviour of your golf ball, the way it flys though the air or doesn't fly through the air 😉 is not down to whether you have swayed, lifted your head or kept your left arm straight or any of that stuff. It is solely down to what your club head is doing at the moment of impact."
    What's awesome for you is no matter how many bad golf shots you hit there can only be a few things you are doing wrong at impact;
    1. Either your club head is swinging too far to the right or too far to the left
    2. Your club face is either aiming left or aiming right
    3. Your club head is attacking the ball at too steep an angle or too shallow an angle.
    Thats it! And no matter how inconsistent you think you are there will be a consistent pattern to the way you strike the golf ball.
    So whether you want to hit driver straight or strike your irons better your first job is to make sure you no exactly what your golf club is doing wrong at impact (I show you how in this video) and secondly, ONLY change something in your golf swing that you know 100% is going to improve your golf impact.
    In this golf video for the very first time I'm going to show you exactly how you do this. If you have ever wanted to know why golf professionals like myself play consistently well this is the answer.
    However, I want to prepare you for what's to come. This video is detailed and will require you to sit down, be patient and take in every word.
    If you are willing to put in the work to understand this, what you are about to learn will change the way you play this game forever.
    I so wish someone had taught me this when I started to play golf. It would have saved me years of trial and error.

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
    Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
    I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
    On UA-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
    Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
    I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

    Danny this is by far your best video yet. By breaking down the ball flight based on whether it goes right (contact EARLY) or left (contact LATE) has helped me make on course adjustments. It also allowed me to start hitting fades, a strike that I struggle with. Agreed. I didn't feel that he could make anything better than his previous stuff because it's already so powerful. I'm not joking when I say I take lessons from one video and that's all I practice while I'm at the range. The one thing that no one can teach you is how to get to the very bottom of the arc. My son has been struggling with this and he wants me to give him some kind of definitive measurement. It's a feel thing. Some kiddos are naturally talented at this, others not at all. My guess is that the ones with the natural talent are the ones who maje it on tour. I believe it's linked to the sensorimotor part of the brain.

    • @PeterKennedyMD
      @PeterKennedyMD Рік тому

      Not so fast. One can sky a shot, or slice/hook for many reasons. The Beginng golfer😮tilted to the right- and did it without the stuff that can bollix a swing, like pooor wt distrbution or altered hip alignment. I’ve done ‘em all
      til I got those details straight.😅

    • @davidkramer194
      @davidkramer194 Рік тому

      @@PeterKennedyMD this video isn't for neophytes. Obviously you have to do those very simple things discussed. This is saying once you've corrected all of those things and you still can't piece it together this is why. I come way too far on the inside and I will get what they call a duck hook which can look like it's going straight and then dramatically cut straight left. By switching my stance up like I'm setting up to fade the ball helps with this. Danny never said that this is a miracle drug to help every noobie get onto the PGA. He's just stating that if you're not still leaving all your weight behind you and you know what plane and club path mean and have tried to manipulate them, then this understanding will save you years. Honestly there were two things that made my game improve by 40 percent. The first is actually fixing my grip. Do many noodles play a grip that feels comfortable to them and it wreaks havoc on their game. Just this one thing alone can show massive improvements. It wasn't until I bought SKLZ grip training aid that I could feel what it was supposed to feel like. Let's say I wasn't even close. Secondly the 50/50 drill is hands down an epiphany moment that I wish u could show the whole world. This is one piece I didn't get from Danny though I got from Porzak. It's 50/50 drill but technically should be called 45/45 since it's wrist hinge and turn to get on plane. This one single thing has helped all of my mates start hitting 40 percent better. Even when they do it silly and in pieces it still works. Getting and staying on plane is hard, one you figure that out then it's just fine tuning and muscle memory.

What would be really helpful is a session, where you highlight the different ball flight paths and then the recommended fix and or drill. i.e. if you path does this (in my case a block to the right, with my driver not severe but always a right-side block) then you need to do this drill / practice to rectify.

    Thanks Danny, I'm a right handed golfer. My drives normally start off going right and then turn big left - may be 80 yards of pull but I do get some straight right push shots. I've moved the ball further forward in my stance and worked on a square face at impact and it's going well. I can see that I was hinging my wrists too early in an effort to get the face back to square because of the ball position and that was giving me some very inconsistent results. Very clear instructions.

    This is a great video that I saved to my list, Danny. Breaking this down into essentially 4 families really helps keep it simple to know what we need to correct. For example, my last couple of rounds I've been topping dang near everything and, when I'm not topping it, I'm starting left and hooking left. While I will work with my golf coach to correct this, I can get started on my own before going to him to help get it dialed back to a good place. Thank you Danny!

    You last two videos are invaluable. I’m a 7 handicap have a beautiful draw ball flight but lately I was hooking and all I was doing is delivering my club earlier than normal. I I applied your concept in last week video my perfect draw is back and my every so often fade is there when I need to. That was not working either when I had those couple of rounds hooking the ball. Thank you. !

    G'day Danny, Back in the 1970's I bought Jon Jabobs' book "Golf Doctor" in which he said he did not need to see the player swing, all he needed was the ball flight. In the book, find the ball flight, then Jon explained what the player was doing and then explained what needed to be done to correct the flight. The book helped me, over several years I got down to a 10 handicap. Unfortunately, my "Ego got bigger than my ability" in trying to crack single figures I was swinging harder and faster, which as we know destroys the swing. I went out to a 16 handicap, but I managed to get to 10 again. My comfort zone turned out to be14 h'cap. Now I am 78 I've lost some distance off the tee, fortunately, my putting keeps me in the game. I learnt all my golf out of books, I should have had more lessons.
    over several years

    Yes, what you explain makes the game easier. I remember when I learned this and it was a relief. As I progressed I learned to shape the shots and of course you need to understand what you explain in order to shape your shots intentionally. I think this is an enjoyable part of the game. I cannot imagine using a game improvement iron set thought it would help an early golfer. I learned with blades, with no offset set up neutral. Under the direction of a pro instructor for my first 1-2 year of learning. It took some consistent practice but those early lessons were and are worth it. Now I can control height and left or right shot shaping and it really is natural. It improves your game to as you can play your misses with this knowledge and get back "on par" for that hole.

    Thank you so much Danny,
    I don't belong to one family or the other... when I hit a ball anything can happen. I can get hooks, slices, ... flat balls. Sometimes it feels like... each ball is a big surprise.
    The video helps me to understand what I'm doing at that moment, although sometimes it's a bit difficult to visualise the curves you are talking about and sometimes it's difficult to see how the ball actually moved, as I normally do not have a trackman to train,... it is difficoult to see when you're at the driving range or even worse on the golf course.
    But anyway now I have a sort of instruction to start analyzing and not feeling hopeless while playing. Thank you.

    Impressed that my pro could sort my issues almost immediately, I asked how he knew what I did wrong. He said that the ball flight told him. I tend to come over the top (which he could also see) and slice, sometimes sky the ball and he showed me how to fix it on the course. Trouble is, I still often mess up on the course! :)

    I created a video with the same information, but received a ton of hate saying 'modern physics says the path doesn't send it'. 'Face sends and bends' 'Path bends'. Mostly by people that dont understand the nuance of the ball flight.
    First, I want to say everything you're saying is of course correct. I just want to add some nuance so people understand how you are reading it.
    For example at 1:52 would mean left going left doesn't have to be outside in if it curved a LOT left. That could be face sending left.
    But in your case you know it is in fact outside in, because the bend isn't enough (left) for the face to have caused the left.
    When the face cause left, with left square club path and left leave, left bend, the face will put immense spin on the ball.
    So this note is for people watching:
    Supposedly modern physics says the face controls part of the send as well. But when the face 'sends' it as well as bending it, the bending is MUCH more severe.
    Meaning a square path, left face, will send left, but will curve a lot left. A left shot, that doesn't bend much, is only a little closed to path.
    This reading of ball flight has nuance. That is what I am trying to say.
    I believe the path sends and the face bends is the best statement for nuanced ball flight. Even though my channel has ton of hate for me suggesting it. So I made a new video of modern and conventional ball flight arguing.
    Great videos. Cheers. M2

I see my faults all the time in ball flight. My main problem is consistency. One time I'm too early, next I'm too late or too steep. I think I just need to work on consistancy first then use the solution. Thanks for being there. Your enthusiasm is unsurpassed.
