What a lovely man! It's so refreshing to see a scientist who can admit he was wrong. We all make mistakes, admit it and move forward.

Denise - well said! Dr .Nokes is not just admitting that he was wrong, he is working to get the word out. The authorities tried to cast him as a once-respected researcher and professor who 'lost his mind', and moved to strip him of his medical license, and also charged him with criminal offenses. They gave him the opportunity to accept a lesser charge and avoid court - but he refused. With the help of two lawyers, he used the court case as a way of getting the FACTS out there. We applaud his courage and the work he put into 'setting the record straight' via the ordeal of the court case. He won.

It's a myth that science doesn't like admitting when it's wrong. Proving yourself wrong is the basis of scientific enquiry. However, some investigators/scientists don't always adhere to these principles.

When l used to do long distance running l just naturally felt better when not drinking too much water. Over a 10km l would normally drink 2 water sachets that they hand out, approx 250ml each. Sometimes a bit more. I would drink some & run with sachet not taking in too much in one go. Prof Tim Noakes has great info.

In 1971 as a boy scout preparing for high altitude camping/hiking I attended a Sierra Club lecture that persuaded me that we breath and exude two liters of water in a single night. Since hypothermia was also a concern this was also discussed. The empirical data of the experience was a mere measurement of congealed ice on the inner surface of a tent in freezing weather.
So, now I can say forty seven years later that I can corroborate your experience with my own. Hypo nutrimia, low fat, and less caution regarding carbohydrates over a forty-five year period. Now, an absolute about face!
My A1C has dropped from 7.9 to 5.7 and my arthritis inflammation is gone! I have lost twenty percent of my body weight and kept it off. Four or more inches from my waist. And, I'm feeling so much better!
Potassium levels are up! Triglycerides are down. I'm going to have more cooperation from my doctor about my cholesterol. This has already happened!
    Thank you Dr Eric Berg!

Carlos Escalante I'm not trying to get pregnant and I am losing weight. I can't have anymore kids because my uterus ruptured with my last pregnancy and my baby and I almost died!! I am going to school to become a midwife which is someone who delivers babies not gives birth to them. It's obvious you didn't know what I was talking about, so I will not allow your stupidity or rude comment to offend me. And my picture is over a year old and I have lost weight since it was taken.

Dr. Berg, you have absolutely changed my life. I was a fitness instructor teaching people to eat 6 small meals a day and to drink a gallon of water. Oh my. Old paradigms. This makes me want to teach again with this new information. At least I was doing HIIT correctly! One out of three......in fact, I will be adding more information on my channel directing people your way and showing examples of HIIT that can be done without a gym! No excuses anymore for people to get healthy. We need to stop being entertained by our food and seeing it as fuel. Too many of us are dictated by our taste buds. This madness needs to stop and we need to take our health back!!!! Before it is too late!!!!

Here in SA the Association for Dietetics charged him with misconduct because of his beliefs. He was acquitted. The Health Professions Council appealed the finding but it was dismissed and he was vindicated. He really was vilified and received a huge amount of backlash for his LCHF stance. I would love to see a debate. Where are they now? The body of evidence is growing and sick people are not getting the right treatment.

Tim Noakes is an intellectual Titan. Literally was put on trial by the establishment, and emerged victorious.
I guess he had more stamina than them... being on a high-fat low-carb diet 😂

Thank you for these talks. I am three years late to the party but I am still gleaning tons of information from these interviews. Both very kind and genuine men.
My story - I was getting leg cramps at night. I currently walk 16 km as a full on walking letter carrier, five days a week. Yes, home delivery mail still exists in Canada on a small scale. I started taking just one 150mg of magnesium a day, and boom, my leg cramps disappeared. As I have started Dr. Berg’s intermittent fasting and eating plan, I added just a smidge of sea salt to my water as I am not getting salt from avoiding refined carbohydrates. Feeling really good. Down 15 pounds. More to go but feel very positive and more energetic.

I've been in the keto lifestyle for almost 4 weeks and my blood sugar is steady in the 90s. This truly makes the difference for this type 2 diabetic. I'm also down 12 pounds and my clothes are getting baggy :)

Wow good one. Dr. Berg, you might be more South African than you know. Your Surname Berg directly translated to Afrikaans (well to English) is Mountain. Thanks for bringing the most important South African in nutrition to your channel.

Wonderful and eye opening interview. I have been one of the medical staff who have been preaching about the high carb vegan diet. But my blood glucose levels were becoming too high and I was gaining weight. I was told that I wasn’t temperate enough in my diet, ie too much food and too many sweets. Actually I was eating lots of beans and rice, lots of vegetables. Then I started going on a roller coaster of blood glucose levels and I have to get off. Now I understand the problem and why. 😊

Dr. Berg is a very professional anchor, and won’t litter the interview with unnecessary noise. Just see him consciously sealing the mouth while Prof. Noakes talk!
