Agreed - it's a great scene among many in this movie. This film made me think of 'Used Cars' (Kurt Russell, 1980), a classic comedy with a bunch of similar characters, who are constantly getting into trouble.
I love Vinnie Jones in general, he plays those kind of roles a lot, and he's perfect in that. I can really recommend a pretty unknow early 2000s movie called "Survive Style 5+" with Vinnie Jones, he has some iconic lines in that one, and the movie is as wild as Snatch.
I appreciated that (at least in the past) Guy Ritchie did not make a spectacle of the gore, but left it to imagination. I hear that changed in the newer movies, which is unfortunate.
One of favorite Guy Ritchie movies ever made! These movies always involve a heist or a deal gone wrong. Love every minute of it, and you'll enjoy it as well. I guarantee you that.
BrickTop is such a great villain. Ruthless and unintentionally funny at some moments. The comment about the sugar, the definition of nemesis, some of the singular lines. Excellent acting on his part.
The funny thing for me is that he's such a believable and threatening bad guy -- yet Alan Ford, the actor playing him, is mostly known for comedic roles.
I heard Alan Ford had done some "nefarious" things before becoming an actor. He has bit parts in "The Long Good Friday" (a favorite of Mr. Ritchie) with Bob Hoskins and Helen Mirren and "An American Werewolf In London".
The super-thick glasses feel like they really add to the effect, makes it harder to tell exactly where he's looking while also making his gaze extra exaggerated
Guy Ritchie is a great director, love his style and he's done so many memorable movies and still ends up underrated in a way. Lock, Stock, The Gentlemen, The Man From UNCLE and the Sherlock movies are all excellent.
I can damn near quote this movie line for line because I've seen it so many times. It's just one of those movies you can watch countless times and never get tired of it.
Character actors are often excellent, some advantages to routinely playing similar roles I guess. Having said that, he did play other parts, eg: ua-cam.com/video/uLNv4KXcWoM/v-deo.html
Yeah, personal favourite of mine. It's used in a fair number of popular 80s & 90s films such as the lobby shootout from The Matrix, The Hitcher, The Wraith, Terminator 1 & 2, Raw Deal.
Yep, Matthew Vaughn started off as Guy Ritchie's producer before he started directing himself. I'd highly recommend Vaughn's first film, Layer Cake, which is also a British gangster film and is brilliant, if you've not seen it.
It's one of those films that is basically perfect. Every charaacter is great, the story is great, and there isn't a scene, joke, drama or action scene that doesn't land. Masterpiece.
Im from this part of the world. I saw this in theatres . I understood every word . ( pikes) shes terribly partial to the perrywinkel blue . ( me ma ) Congratulations guys . On the baby. May god bless her all the day's of her life .. 3 years yes . Time flies
Great choice! This is one of my favourite Guy Ritchie movies. It's right up there with his other film 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998)', which is equally good. The cast and the dialogue in particular are just amazing.
On the DVD version there is a setting for Pikey subtitles, which reads out Mickey's lines. Except for the scene in the field. Once he gets going it just shows: " ? " hilarious.
Congratulations on the baby! Another Guy Ritchie movie, aside from the ones already mentioned, is The Gentlemen which is underrated IMO. And you might want to check out Layer Cake as well; Matthew Vaughan was essentially Guy Ritchie's producing partner before becoming a director in his own right, and Layer Cake was his debut. It's also the film that got Daniel Craig auditioned for James Bond.
Snatch is a great film, glad you guys like it. Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels and Rock N Rolla are very similar. Some people prefer Lock Stock over Snatch, but me personally Snatch is my favorite. All 3 are definitely worth watching.
My favorite Brat Pitt role, too, he's not 'Brad Pitt', he totally disappeared into the character. Shoulda got an Oscar nom but I guess this movie isn't a typical Oscar movie. Apparently he got the accent down really well, too. This is Jason Statham's first big movie, before he became the action movie guy in the Transporter. He does such a great job here. Stephen Graham (Tommy) has gone on to a really great career with tons of prestige tv show characters and movies along with some comedy.
@@patron40silverI always forget Floyd!!! Definitely another great one. Him asking the gangsters if they wanted to smoke with him always gets me. That and the fact that he smoked the toilet paper😂😂😂
Congratulations!!!!! So happy for you and your family with your new little one. The greyhound part. This is what greyhounds were actually bred for. To hunt hares. I did medieval recreation for 20 years and because "coursing" which is what it's name as a sport is went back to those times. We have a lot of folks that adopted greyhounds that had been abandoned by the race courses. They still course them, with these ways of running a cloth along to simulate the hare but they get to have good loving lives doing what they love and were born to do.
