Nice detailed video. I hope it will help. its my last hope. I hate windows so much especially after today. Somehow win11 yelled at me that cant update because I have missing some critical security updates. But when I checked missing updates it showed I am up to date. I watched recommendations that i should download the windows install and try it. It installed over my existing windows and ruined my internet connection (could not reach DHCP server anymore). I could not restore it back because it used all my memory on disc. Updated all drivers even bios too. I created a normal boot usb from windows website but it yelled at me that my PC is not compatible (I am using win 11 4years on this device).

Something's goofy... Followed everything to a T, but When Rufus Win 11 23H2 install is complete, Windows shows "password incorrect" and when you click the option to sign in after that, it doesn't even give you the option to enter a password, it simply reverts back to "password incorrect" as soon as you click "sign in." Wondering if it was because it wasn't connected to the internet, but unsure... Just going to make another copy of the Rufus install, with the only box checked, being the "Remove req's for TPM, 4GB, and Secure boot." I'll let you know how that goes... I heard MS was going to patch this out, but surely they haven't done that this fast... If this next ISO doesn't work, going to try MBR and CSM mode in BIOS, to see if anything changes...
@AMDRyzenEnthusiastGroup That is very strange. I've performed installs with and without internet and never got a prompt like that. What motherboard and cpu do you have? Keep me posted!
@@Warning56kb I agree... I've used Rufus to do this before, but it had been awhile and needed a refresher, hence my visit to your video (well done, by the way). I changed multiple variables by toggling off so many things, so it's hard to say exactly what caused the first one to bug out. When I have some down time, I may play with enabling/disabling assorted install options on my test bench to try to duplicate it, but yeah... it was certainly odd. If I do that, I'll let you know. That said, I'm primarily interested in using it to enable WIn 11 on legacy "unsupported" hardware, mainly 1st gen Ryzen processors, since I need to purge a good deal of AM4 hardware. Great video, I just need the USB for bootup and get to the c:\ file system on windows 10 laptop, how does that work. I have No need to install windows 11. what steps must I omit from the video.
You can download a Windows 10 ISO and then within Rufus select "Windows To Go" under Image Option. Once installed onto the USB you'll be able to run Windows directly from the USB. I know the Windows To Go feature was disabled after a certain version of Win 11 Pro, so you might have to find a slightly older version of 11 Pro.
Hi I will attempt this on my pc later and I was really wondering how to know which partition scheme I should use. my motherboard might be over 12 year. the pc is still on windows 7. I think I need use MBR because I think my system use bios
Once installed, does windows update continue to function normally or does it lock you out of every update forcing you to do a completely fresh install of the OS via Rufus whenever there's a new windows update?
You're right! It continues to function normally, but!, Windows update will see that you're not using compatible hardware and won't push the next large feature update, making you reinstall using Rufus if you want it.
It varies so much from computer to computer and server to server that I'd have to pick just one platform and leave out loads of others, likely not being like yours in the end anyway. In essence you go into your BIOS boot settings and select the closest option to "Boot from USB".
Hello mate i got a quick question, there is a game called Valorant which requires TPM and secure boot to be enabled if i have them disabled on windows 11 with this boot you showed in this video, could i bypass TPM and secure boot using this set up of windows
This unfortunately won't let you perform an in-place upgrade to 11. You'd have to backup your files to a drive, then perform a fresh install of Win11 using Rufus. The biggest caveat with this is after installing Win11 on a device that technically has unsupported hardware, Microsoft will then no longer push or allow you to download feature updates. For example, if you install 23H2 Windows Update will never show 24H2 as being downloadable (due to MS seeing that it "can't support it".
I did not use Rufus or any other way to install Windows 11 24H2 on my unsupported laptop...I used command prompt which bypassed the requirements and it installed. As I tried rufus and it did not work 3 times.
That's odd. I've yet to run across a client that wouldn't install 24H2 using Rufus. Command prompt works fine, but if you install on numerous devices Rufus saves a ton of time since the configurations are saved.
I have a laptop that says the processor installed is not compatible with Windows 11. Does this solve this problem too? Or is there a way to bypass this so it can be installed on an older laptop with an older processor?
