It should be illegal for uninstallers to leave behind stuff. Uninstall = remove it all.
Or, at least, give options.
Actually some softwares do give the option of keeping or removing the log files during uninstallation.

I’ve heard of performance issues with running OpenRGB. I was looking to use it a while back but it looked too risky.
Thx
Hey, nice to see FanControl mentioned and the nice comments. Lots have changed since the original video. Fans can now be controlled by RPM directly instead of %, so different type of fans can all run at the same speed. Tons of other small improvements also, and some more to come. Cheers!
Awesome, keep up the great work👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽.
I really love FanControl, thank you for providing us with this gem. Already donated to you, and I'm so happy that it's continues to improve and getting more love as time passes.
Great news and thanx. I just installed it again after not using it for a while and am looking forward to using it again. I'm VERY tired of rebooting in and out of the MSI bios for adjustments.
Love FanControl. I just built my new rig and as standard it sounded like an air conditioning unit in the corner of the room (9 fans not counting the GPU). I built some nice custom curves and the thing now sits quietly and still stays cool. Software is non intrusive and just works great. Keep up the great work.
BEST SOFTWARE EVER Dude! Thank you a lot for all of your love and effort you put in it. Been using it for quite over a year now, and the amount and frequency of updates just shows how much work you put into this. It's also absolutely easy to use, just a massive QOL tool for everyone who likes to tune their pc cooling setup without any bloatware or such stuff. Keep up the amazingly good work!
Software called "everything" should be a mandatory in every PC. it will save the humanity.

Certainly. Windows "Search" option never finds the files I look for in my own computer, even though "indexing" has been activated forever. Then it offers to search in the Internet, when I know the files will never be found there
@@Juan_V_HerreraTry PowerToys! It has a feature called PowerToys Run, which basically is Windows search, just better.
@@Juan_V_Herrera If you're trying to run a program, hitting enter on the search bar will try to run the program you searched for, even if it doesn't show up there. Which probably isn't helpful for finding files, but I do legitimately use this as part of my software engineering job.
Still, hopefully this relieves some of the frustration you have with windows search!
Yep great search software
Hey Jay ! We wanted to swing by and express our heartfelt thanks for featuring OCCT in your video and for the love! Many more exciting new features are coming soon in the v13, and we can't wait to hear your thoughts👀. Keep up the awesome content!
Was trying OCCT for the first time because of this video.
My system runs fine, my games runs fine. No issues whatsoever. Period.
But the moment I stress test CPU, it shows a million of errors. GSOD pops up and the system restarts.
And I am clueless.
Any guidance would be super appreciated. 🥲😭
I appreciate this brand comment. Your product and the team who supports it get a big thanks for me.
I recently was testing 4 CPU coolers in 2 or more configurations each. I wish I had known about you guys beforehand!
Get on the Linux-support! - But I appreciate it's at least halfway there... It's just that Linux-support is a huge issue for analytical software.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Revo Uninstalled is such a game changer when it was mentioned in an earlier video. Hugely recommended
Absolutely, found it years ago and finally bought the Pro version, it's worth it even tho I use it infrequently.
Revo is huge W
those looking at Revo might want to try BCUninstaller the interface isn't as fancy but it can do just as much and is opensource.
Bulk Crap Uninstaller ;)
It is. but you shouldn't just blindly delete everything that Revo Uninstaller finds(or any other uninstaller software for that matter). especially when u trace a program's install a lot of background windows stuff end up in the trace log and if you just delete everything every time you trace something, you can easily break your windows with weird unexpected bugs coming up everywhere.
speaking from experience here :)
Loving Nic's folder on the desktop.
I'm also curious hehe
Back in the early days of my building and overclocking, I always read on your sites and from LTT. Stopped for a while and mostly just watching and not tinkering anymore. Glad that those software's from the early days are still being used and update until today. Thanks!
so get I Fix It for yourself!!!!
Your ifixit ad is literally my favorite of your sponsors.
Yeah, so epic it even shows up on a "NOT SPONSORED" video lol
iFix it is an amazing company. I bought a kit from them, but forgot to add Jay's discount. Called them up, and they retroactively added the discount to my order. Have been using their tools for all my PC and tinkering purposes and couldn't be happier. Great product, excellent support, and a fantastic company!
I have AdBlocker but always playback to that ad. It is that epic
He means nobody has sponsored him about any of the software he's talking about. In around about way he means he's unbiased I think😂
It's funny but definitely dated, last I knew the inventory problem hasn't been a thing in 2 years. These guys do a fun job with their sponsored spots, though, the World of Warships one is always fun.
Your iFixit-segment is the only sponsor segment on YT I do not skip. It is legit the funniest one out there. Seen it hundreds times and still laughing like a 9 year old boy every time I see it. Great work !
Sure, if you enjoy obnoxously loud explosions in your earholes.
@@Grievous- you dont? lol
Those are literally the best ads ever made, hooves down! :D
Yasssss
it would behoove you to expand your youtube tastes, ive seen several channels with way better sponsor segments.
Thank you for the recommendation for OCCT. I've had a stutter problem that happens every so often and have had the issue for years since I built this pc. I used other tests, but none found any issues, this one managed to fix the issue for me (undervolt was unstable). Much love!
Been using Revo for years now, glad it's getting more love.
Fan Control is the best. IDK why nothing like this existed before. Best part is being able to just tell it "whatever is hottest, use that temp to control the fans".
Fan Control is pretty great for all my case fans... only downside for me is that you need a beta-version plugin to control AMD GPU fans... bummer, but Adrenalin software covers it pretty well.
Clearly a software made by someone who needed it rather than a company who wrote an app to sell it
@@weil0054another excuse to do full watercooling ^^
it seems to be not updating working since the past month or so, but I do like it
Wait how do set it to which ever is hottest. I’m not seeing that
13:50 lets not forget to mention the sus folder named "nic's onlyfans pics" :))))
Feetfinder probably for Nic
Was wondering if anyone else caught that

what's nic's onlyfans?
You always hit us with stuff that's actually useful & relevant to PC enthusiasts at beginner / intermediate level [and some that's over my head], Jay. You're one of us, pal, thanks for doing this channel. ❤
Been using fan control after your very first review of it and i love it, even have it installed on all my pc's at home.
and indeed got several profiles setup depending on the weather. summer is extra cooling winter is lower cooling and it works great
The uninstaller I got from your first video about it, was great for me. I had Windows keep telling me that an old printer needed to be updated and so under the "optional Updates" on windows it would always say one files needs updating and no matter if I installed the update which sometimes would say it worked and sometimes it would say it did not there would always be a one showing up in that section. I used the uninstaller to get rid of whatever software was left behind Identifying the files thru the printer number and it removed all the junk left behind when the printer was originally uninstalled. Now there is no one next to the Additional updates unless there is actually one that I need to do. It was so satisfying to finally get rid of that old printer driver that I could not get rid of any other way. Made me very happy!
I'm not very computer savvy, and you talked so fast I got very little out of this video.
I love OCCT. I recently had stability issues with my system and OCCT helped isolate it to the discrete GPU when I stressed it. From there I was able to isolate it to a bad PCIe extension power cable. Once that was removed, the system is nice and stable now.
Thank you for these types of videos. I've been away from the computer for some time (driving over the road for a very long time), and I'm now just getting back into it. Learning all over again. This was very helpful. Thanks for your "two cents"!
Haven't watched computer videos in a while and came back to see Jay is still running the ifixit ads. Loving it! Keep up the great work guys
Video came out 57 seconds ago and already 13 comments who have not even watched the video yet.

Don't forget patreon early access is a thing.
Display Driver Uninstaller/DDU MUST get a mention here.
I've experienced issues multiple times with nVidia driver updates.
This little piece of free software has saved my ass. This gets an A+
Honestly with that utility it'd be best to do a whole video. Perhaps even demonstrate swapping manufacturers products. You taking notes here Jay? ;-)
DDU fixes so many problems. My go-to before considering a fresh install. Works most of the time, 99 percent of the time or more at fixing.
He missed a ton of actually needed software.

"It's not jiraffics it's graphics" - This is singlehandedly the best argument I've heard to call it with the "g" sound.
pronounce
Light
Amplification by
Stimulated
Emission of
Radiation
i'll wait
the content of the acronym does not matter, its pronunciation is determined first by how the acronym feels in the mouth and how the creator of the acronym says it's pronounced if it does not make an existing word
in this case, though, Graphics Interchange Format shortens into the old english Gif, pronounced Yiff, which is the original spelling of "if"
so realistically, the G should neither be hard nor soft, it should be silent
@@d3str0i3r Yeah exactly! Acronyms don't care about what the sound of the word that makes it, it's irrelevant to the pronunciation of the acronym; if it did matter than well known terms like LASER, AIDS, JPEG, and SCUBA wouldn't be pronounced by the standard that we do. GIF is just in a grey enough area that it can be pronounced both ways by what the speaker feels comfortable with. I personally have an accent that makes soft 'g' GIF more comfortable. People understand what I'm speaking about so it doesn't hinder communication, which is all that matters :)
Plus, I don't want to have to pronounce SCUBA as 'scubba' 😬
The best argument to pronounce it with a soft G is because the creator of the format said that is the correct way to say it. I support the right of all inventors to name their invention.
these kinds of arguments never hold water, as there are several words that use soft g's as well, pronounce "George" or "giraffe" or "gym" for example. the inventor of the format specified a soft g, and on top of that it rolls off the tongue far easier that way too.
@blackrock1961 the creator of Dune insists you should be pronouns Chani like the vice president.
He's wrong too.
Great video! I love when this kind of information is shared in a tidy one stop place. I agree individual videos would be helpful to answer more specific questions. However, this is a great spot to find what you are looking for. And we as watchers can do some research from there. Thank you Jay, Phil and Nick for all that you do! Great source of information and entertainment!
Really good video jay, I had no idea about the registry files being left there after an uninstall, I'll definitely be using that uninstaller program. You help people and they get more users, this is a win win situation
Fan control absolutely changed my life after your video on it!
I've used Fan Control since the day you did your first video on it. Great program, I've donated multiple times.
Yep, me too :-)
No actual hardware doing such fantastic job.
same. and I love it
already knew all those programs but i really like this kind of videos, would love a part 2
Exactly what I've been looking for. I'll be coming back to this after I finally sort out my ungodly unorganized file system on my first and current desktop that I built. Plan to just go for a fresh install after that and it'll be nice to start out with some handy software to keep everything running nice and smoothly.
In the train on my way to dad, for whom I build a game pc and have to fix startup time, lagging, lame fans and non syncing RGB. This video right now in the train.....
Homework done! Thnx a bunch Jay! 👏
LMAO at the end - that was a great close! :) Love these updates on system utilities from time to time - thanks for doing this every so often!
The JayzTwoCents iFixit ad. The only ad on UA-cam I don’t skip through.
Fan Control is such an amazing and useful piece of software always happy to see you mention it on the channel
hey man, I really appreciate this video. some of these are already on my go-to application list. thanks for showing me the others! they really are the cures for a number of common nightmares that a lot of people probably gave up trying to solve long ago, writing them off as unfixable quirks.
Been watching ur channel for years now! Ur first video was about overclocking the amd fx, got hooked ever since. Now I finally managed to build an new system with 7600x and 7900XT. Thank you Jay and the team for all the years of service and wishing you all the best from the Netherlands
Very useful overview. Thank you Jay! Hope that your health is improving!
Keep doing this kind of content, it's a good resource you can point people to that are new to PCs and setting things up. 👍
wiztree or windirstat should totally be on this list
I really love the concept of this video please make more of these more frequently like maybe every 6 months or so
This is so crazy I was just looking for this sorta stuff today Thanks JAY
love seeing revo on here. been using it since 2011 i think it was. was recommended to me when i was interning at a computer repair shop and have been preaching about it to everyone that will listen ever since.

@@vulcanfeline oh yea 100 percent. It's a God send. Better late than never ;)
WizTree, man...absolute must!! It's like WinDirStat (also a great tool) but, instead of reading the actual files like WinDirStat does, it just scans the MBR. Possibly not as accurate, but WAY faster.
msi afterburner, fan control and HW Monitor have been the best things I've downloaded on my PC
unless you have a gigabyte or asus card, gputweak isnt as fun
@@ThatYellowPokemonyou can use afterburner on Asus and gigabyte cards.
I thought hwmonitor cost money
@epotnwarlock The title of the video is "FREE Programs that every pc should have "
you can set alarms on MSI Afterburner. If my GPU gets too hot, it sets off an audible alarm. Primary use was when Windows decided to run my laptop at 100% (looking for nonexistent viruses) when I was away from keyboard and overheat it.
Hey Jay! I hope you are doing / feeling better! Love the content you and the team put together, keep it up!
What happened, haven't watched him in years?
Thanks again for informing us of Fan Control. Ever since your first video on it, I've used it to keep my pc properly cooled based on actual gpu vs cpu temps, and super-quiet when possible. Remember to set your system fans to pwm in bios.
Thank you for this video. I am looking forward to utilizing these.
Jay, just gotta say... I know you have done this before BUT IT IS ALWAYS good to see it again and updated perse. Thanks again for your update to this!!!
Glad to see you’re doing better! Thanks for this video Jay!

Glad to see an updated video about this subject!
The 2 pieces of software that are my absolute go to on systems are HWInfo64, because it does what Aida64 and CPUID HWMonitor do all in 1 solution, and WingetUI, which allows me to get a GUI for winget and also to quickly install a whole list of my used software on my PC, plus automate updates to the pieces of software I use less often.
Aida64 memory benchmarking is good.
HWInfo64 has a paywall.

Hoping you're feeling better Jay, take care, also thank you for your hard work and dedication to informing some of us computer beginners!
i much prefer HWinfo 64 to CPUID HW monitor, none of the false readings like 9ghz clocks that hwmonitor gives. hwinfo 64 is accurate AF. and you can incorporate it into RTSS overlay

This video is a godsend because I know you need to monitor and maintain a Window's PC to keep it running at it's best, but I'm not sure of the process and don't have access to the expertise through friends/colleagues now.
Grouping these together was awesome! I now have a suite of programs that will help me monitor and tweak my laptop. I look forward to watching many more of your videos.
That Fan Control software is amazing!

Would like to see some Windirstat reped on here. Such a great program for helping you find out what is taking up so much space on your computer.
I already know what's taking up so much space on my computer. @#$%ing Call Of Duty. Nearly 200GB for a single game. Oh my giddy aunt!
WizzTree is far better, especially in terms of speed.
I brought the Revo uninstaller after the first video.. ended up buying the portable version, instead of the free… just because it has so many extra features and isn’t limited to 1 install per user.
Very happy with it, because it’s helped all my devices, perform better and be more stable.
So, thanks for mentioning it.

I am 1 of those people who bought the full version of Revo, the portable version and it is awesome. Have it on a USB and can use it on any computer i want. the best part is it can find and remove left over things from programs that have already been uninstalled and dont show in your programs list. Revo Hunter Mode is really nice. Like taking a dropper tool to pick a color from anywhere on your screen, hunter mode lets you click on a window, and Revo will figure out what program put that window there so you can then uninstall it. Nice for removing PUPs (potentially unwanted programs) that pop ads up in the corner of your screen and things like that.

Install Windows using the World region settings.
Once installed set your region back to your actual region, so you can get updates etc.
This prevents Windows from installing all the bloat software.
Can you clarify how? Are you selecting the region during the windows installation setup? What bloatwares are not installed if you use that trick?
What bloat?
There's literally zero bloat on a a fresh Windows install that's not on an OEM PC.

No, Chris Titus is a con artist and a liar. "Debloating" Windows causes more harm than good and can actually destroy your Windows install. Who really cares how 'GIF' is pronounced. Most people can't determine the correct usage of there, their, and they're...but get all spicy over the pronunciation of 'GIF'. For how many times I've been told to stop correcting peoples' misspellings and misusage of words, I only think it's fair to tell people to stop with the 'GIF' debate.
