    • @Raycinjaycin
      @Raycinjaycin Рік тому

      @JozefTrubac wrong question. You have to maneuver the G2 on your face in order to get it perfect and as soon as you make a quick movement the inertia can move the headset. With the Beyond its 100% centered 100% of the time and 100% in the sweet spot.

    You still need controllers and a base station, an audio solution ($129 on their site), and for me the prescription lenses ($79 also on their site). So this is just about as expensive as a Varjo Aero but the IPD can't be adjusted for other family members. Unfortunately for Bigscreen, I'll take a wait an see attitude.

    • @DarkNsaw
      @DarkNsaw Рік тому

      if you're sitting, you only really need one base station and with simming, you have your peripherals to control things, no need for controllers, i mean if you have your old controllers from old headsets you are still good.

    I think this is the way to go, smaller. Fed up with the Pimax and poor customer service and faults and too big and bulky so that is going back. When you review would be nice to know how their customer service will operate, how quick to respond, replacements, promises etc... It would be nice to know they have infrastructure in place and can handle their product and support it. I am going to order the Varjo, after update, wink wink, and will also try the Bigscreen as well, through your link. Thanks for the reviews, finding them extremely useful for my business.

    For Mura you may want to check dark environments or fly at night. I'd love to get this headset but it's like 1,4k with tax to order it to my location so it's a bit of a steep curve compared to the 1k its supposed to cost. OK, my Valve Index was £999 for the full kit 3yrs ago, but this is almost as much as a Vario Aero. So a big outlay for most. Nice to see they’ve put a headstrap in the box as well now. Sounds amazing comfort wise & as you say, the colours & visuals sound like they may be worth the price. Personally, still not going to be able to afford one short of a lottery win. I'm kinda surprised it doesn't come with an extra "should fit most people" gasket for when (or if) you demo it to other people. (maybe you can order one if you want one, idk) Other than that tiny quibble, seems like a great option for people who put form factor and comfort at a premium. Man VR is tech is moving so fast, it must be a conundrum to have to chose only one and stick with it for potentially 4-5 years. I got my Quest 2 (soon to be 3) and psvr2 so I get to sit back on the sidelines and watch the VR parade move on by, with every float being more impressive than the last.
    And we still got the mysterious "Deckard" waiting in the shadows, potentially destroying all in its awesomeness. Good times. 😄

    • @NicholasDutko
      @NicholasDutko Рік тому +3

      The reason they don’t have a generic face gasket is because of the IPD. The sweet spot is not very large and you would want the person using it be in the sweet spot. That’s why it is soooo specific.

    • @scottfitzpatrick1939
      @scottfitzpatrick1939 Рік тому

      Yeah becasue the IPD and gasket are custom fit to your face scan another person would likely experience light leakage and no sweet spot. So its not really a sharable headset. To add IPD adjustment they would have had to make the form factor larger defeating its advantage.

    What worries me about the custom fit face gasket is, it's meant to fit your face at a given time. Tomorrow, my face may swell/shrink because of any kind of reasons (disease, depression, etc.) and it won't be a perfect fit anymore.
    If VR headsets actually made face cushions similarly to the gel pads used for hearing protection muffs (peltor for example), you could strap it hard against your face and it still wouldn't feel like it's pressing too hard, because gel pads are that good.

      They mentioned that 75hz in refresh rate with micro OLED is a lot faster than 90hz with LCD. That being said, 75hz is when you use the biggest resolution available. Otherwise, you could use the smaller resolution at 90hz. Although it has some compression, according to them, with the upscaling, it will be virtually as good as if you had no compression at all.

    Man, it really is such a sexy looking headset and I really think that counts... for alot. We're trying to get mainstream adoption and nobody tackled this problem till now. I suspect that's something Apple didn't consider enough but we'll see. Well done to Bigscreen. Its such a shame it has the glare issue though. This and the unfortunate reality of the price holds me back. The price is fair. It's just too much for me realizing how little I'd use it. I know when I do decide to buy another VR headset though that I won't settle for anything but this type of form factor.
