Those 62 impalas are hard to get now really worth every penny and time beautiful cars your right rust doesn't scare a man they sell parts at classic industries for rust repairs great job

There are a lot of aftermarket parts available for the 62 even more so for the 63/64

I got my 62 from Minnesota also and it’s in the same shape!! I’m doing all the work myself in my home garage. Just finished rebuilding the rockers ... you definitely can buy everything... super cool man keep up the good work. Very inspiring!!
Are you going back all stock?
I reinforced the X frame with 1/8 metal since I have the whole floor pan out. Just finished rebuilding both rockers ... I hope to install air bags .. stock drive train. 283 small block.

I don't know the production numbers but every day the passes there's fewer and fewer

Heavily influenced by location and if you drive your car year round. A good quality undercarriage liner, appllied correctly goes a long way for protection.

I have a 62 rag top, with the same rust. Would your approach be different, regarding cutting out the floors? Meaning, would you leave the car on the frame, when replacing floors, since you have no roof?
Must install onto frame fixture....
@@guzzifabrication3448 So your steps would be the exact same? Cut out the existing rotted floors, brace it, lift off the frame, cut out rockers.?
I assume your bracing would be different, being its a convertible?

WOW! That's really a rust bucket. Are you sure you can fix that?
Absolutely, there are replacement panels available for replacing the complete floor, trunk, and rocker assemblies, the rust damage has extended past these in some areas, these areas will have to be hand fabricated. We will posting video of the complete restoration process on the Impala, subscribe and follow along. Thanks
I have a 63 impala it has a crack right at the top of the quarter and the rear quarter window meet how would you repair that

Guzzi is it hard to weld a place in a roof that's oil canning or just shrink it?
depending on the roof shape, where the repair is to be made, how big the repair is, you can open a real can of worms if your not careful..... if the roof is oil canning before the repair address that first, if you don't you will compound problems.
@@guzzifabrication3448 it a ss car in bad shape the oil canning is right in front near the windshield. About 8x8. I paid 800 for it. I also have a bel air I just bought for 700. If the roof will be a headache I'll just fix that.
@@derrickwebb7230 It can be repaired, but the repair must be accomplished in a certain order and not rushed.

No rust solid project =12 grand at least. Some folks can’t afford that 🙋🏽♂️
