Would be great to see a comparison between precision garrett and turbosmart on the same car with all turbos as close as possible in sizes.
According to HP ratings, garret's G series line makes 50-100 more hp per turbo.
A link to the Turbosmart compressor maps would be nice
@@lennixsingh626 Garrett overstate their power output. Look at how much kg/sec it actually emits.
Goleby have already quickly shown just how much these Turbosmart units shine over the G series
I've always thought the G series were a bit over hyped , and to put simply quite optimistic. Seems I'm not wrong
@@WraithDeath Which video is that mate?
interested to see the pricing.. im so happy with my pulsar turbo that i dont think id ever pay Garrett or presison prices again..
Will always use turbo smart gates and fuel regs controlled via Haltech because boost control, fuel delivery and there tuneability is key to not blowing shit up
How long have you had the pulsar for, no issues? I've got a garrett and thinking of going bigger but $1400 vs like $4200 is a massive price difference
I've always thought of doing a pulsar turbo for my B18C2 build. with a turbo smart E-gate.
Pulsar all the way boys !! Why pay 4x the amount ? My gtx3584rs was $900, garret like 4.5k, and I bet ya turbosmart will be pricey too !
I use a turbosmart 50mm gate though , but turbo ? Pulsar !
Aeroflow turbos are also great. Pretty sure some are in the 6s in 1/4 mile.
@@crazzydude0117 over a year of daily driving, 20 psi, manual barra with rolling anti lag and not a single issue
This is awesome to see. The amount of R&D that they have in the affiliated components is going to translate over into the turbine technology. Very exciting stuff!
#CommentForTheAlgorithm
Wow! These look great. Very excited to see how they perform. Certainly a welcome modern turbo option rather than just another tired clone of old school turbo designs. It's also awesome you released a full lineup already in production rather than just announcing a product that isn't even ready yet. Nice work!
Oh and just to be clear, your sizing is based on compressor wheel inducer and turbine wheel exducer, right? So a 5862 is 58mm compressor inducer and 62mm turbine exducer, yeah? Thanks!
Yes... xxyy: (Compressor Inducer)xx, (Turbine Exducer)yy in mm...
@@TurbosmartHQI really like your products but I think you need to compare your turbochargers to other turbochargers from different manufacturers so you can prove they are the way to go👍
I love how they have come out with mirror image turbos!
Nothing like some Australian innovation. I think you Motive Video needs to try this out asap I would love to see the video.
Only bought diverter valves for my N54 a few years back, but they were fantastic. Looking forward to see these turbos in the wild.
Cant wait for these to be used by tuners in fast rd up to monster power builds. 😎👊👍👌✌
This is so sick! Been a long time fan of Turbosmart and long time customer too.
Please review one of the turbos. I wanna see how they perform. I have to upgrade my Evo's turbo and have been weighing up options.
I’ll help you out. Buy a Garrett G-Series and then never look back. 👍🏻
@@PaulyDTheKiwi yeah I think they're the front runner ATM. Just need to do more research. In terms of efficiency and response they seem to be the best.
@PaulyDDownunder in Europe it seems the best of the best is considered precision, also backed by Koeneggsigg's semi-recent usage of them.
My local tuner sorts most of Europes fastest drift cars for drift masters, British drift championship, FD etc.
His cars all use precision + 6boost. The only real exception is for James Deane using BW but his cars are family build by his brother at DeansMSport so not really showing of how the cars across the continent are built here.
In ireland most people would consider Duanes RB a more competitive build than James's 2J and again, it uses precision.
@@masterdinosawr Borg Warner EFR are actually superior to the G-Series in almost every aspect except package size. Not saying they are the right turbo for every application, but they are impressive. The G-Series is still a massive leap from the old Garrett turbos.
If Turbosmart wanted to totally rock the turbo industry they need to release a turbo cartridge design which will allow the turbo to be mounted vertically.
Instant market shake-up !!!!!!
That IWG design is very unique! Why didn't they talk about that?
Not necessarily unique, as a very similar style is already used on EFR, G-Series, and many OEM turbos. That said, it is a modern and well performing design and it's certainly welcome. Can save packaging and money plus it's pretty bulletproof.
@@802GarageI thought exactly the same that it possibly are the same design as the iwg BW EFR turbos. If they incorporate the bov on the compressor housing that would confirm it.
Looks pretty good.
What about sizes for 300-400hp range.
Some of us want responses and reliable cars
Please hold, your request will be handled by our first avaialble engineer ;-) Jokes aside, keep an eye out in 2024... We may just have some thigns you'll appreciare in the pipeline.
@@TurbosmartHQ can't wait, I'd love to be able to use Aussie made parts in my build
Yep, was quite interested until hearing the smallest is 750hp, not very turbosmart of you
@@sasnapier4701 Doesn't mean it can't be used at lower levels, it won't make every engine instantly have 750hp. In a lot of cases, the smallest turbo, isn't always the quickest at creating torque
Well there are so many manufacturers already, not reinventing the wheel, sure they tried to make it more efficient, but sure cost will be right where the others are.
Good looking products
Does it have ceramic bearings..?
Yes dual ceramic bb cartridges and dual oil seals. I want to know if the bb cages are stainless or plastic.
@@weduhpeople8504 No plastic anywhere
I read somewheree that theyre the same as the HPT ones
They're not
Please offer compressor maps....
I’m shocked they made a turbo now. In for results as a self engine/tuner
👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
Who partnered with you for the turbos?
HPT.
And i bet it will be cheaper to buy in America and shio back home to Oz than buy locally as most Oz made products tend to be, yes Yella Terra, yes Harrop yes so many others
Looks like they have partnered with borg by the looks of that iwg housing.
Incorrect
HPT turbos
Do the Turbosmart Turbos need the OPR?
All ball bearing turbos need restricted oil flow, you can do it with an inline oil restrictor or go high zoot with the OPR
@@RyTrapp0 For example BorgWarner and some KKK have it integrated.
We learnt a thing or two about turbocharger oiling over the last 6 years with the development of the OPR series... while there is allot of effort to get oil out of the bearing housing to reduce the likelyhood of the symptons you see with oil pooling and over-pressurisation... We have also noticed and aknowledge there is a dynamic turbocharger efficiency benefit from correct oil pressure. The easy version: lower, (but still appropriate) oil pressure equates to increased turbocharger efficiency as it reduced bearing losses that can effectively 'slow'' the main shaft down due to over-supply. In short. TS turbochargers are less likely to NEED an OPR because of smoking issues that are the most commong 'issue', but they can still certainly benefit from them and an OPR removes all the guesswork from restrictor sizing and line selection, etc.
@@TurbosmartHQ Thanks for the extensive and detailed answer.
Maybe Andrew should test one in his GTR.
looks like a HTP Turbo?
It is made by HTP
Am I crazy or is everyone in this comments section saying HPT turbo wrong?
@og33vo Where did you hear that? They look similar to HPT turbos, but I see several differences just from the outside.
@@TranceFur They do look veeery similar to HPT. I would expect Turbosmart to partner with another company to make these. The equipment and machinery necessary to make turbos is massive, tons of supply chain connections necessary. HPT turbos seem excellent and if they are working with them, they seem to have added features such as internal wastegate exhaust housings, water cooled center housings, and possibly the updated oil slinger shaft design. A lot of the same marketing and features language is used by both HPT and Turbosmart, but the Turbosmart products do at least seem bespoke. Take all with a grain of salt.
@@TheBCninja HPT posted on Instagram that they are the partner with Turbosmart for these turbos. 👍
Theres already so many high end performance turbos for sale... Why choose turbosmart over lets say... Xona, precision, Garrett?
Experimentation lol. Until we know how they perform and how reliable it's up in the air.
❤
Oil cooled? Thought it would be oil lubed
When they refer to a turbo as oil cooled it means it does not have additional water cooling and likely has some provisions to help the center housing stay cool with just the lubricating oil running through it.
Pftt those prices tho. Pulsar ftw.
Hope your partner is WUXI
Im getting a supercharger for by brz. Keep your turbos no thanks
Cute story bro
@ricohradetzky1223 hahahaha what moron superchargers a brz, anyone who drives a Subaru is an absolute gronk lmao
Lmfao, L comment
ok
Lmao, who asked?
I’ve been told these turbos are made by precision
Who told you that?
@@TranceFur someone that works for turbosmart… maps are the same and the sizing is just like precision
@@ryanlowe3588 They don't look anything like Precision. HPT, perhaps.
