    The biggest problem leatherman has is that they focus too much on a general purpose multitool instead of specialised multitools. They have so many multitools that more or less all do the same.
    It would be best to create a modular multitools. That enables people to decide which kind of tools they want to have in their multitool.

      Yup, idk why a personalized modular multitool doesn't exist. It might not be as space efficient as a result, but it wouldn't need to be since you're cutting out all the bs you don't want.

      Meh. I had the skeletool for about a year before I lost it. I used the changeable bits maybe once or twice. When I had to whip out the bit kit, I was usually close enough by the the correct tool to use the job so I would just do that.

      It's a case where anyone who actually uses their multi tool is confused why they are touting the one hand opening as a feature, because anyone who uses their tool has broken it in. These free series tools are more home owner Harry friendly. This is clear by the fact they took out the interchangeable bits which in my engineering position is a necessity at this point to have my 42 bits with me wherever I go.

    I’m not a multi tool aficionado, just want something that works and is reliable. I’ve seen other video reviews showing the relative flex of the P4 plier handles under torque compared to the Wave. That killed it for me. I find the Free P series intriguing. But, frankly, I prefer more robustness over ease of tool access.

    Replace the can opener with an awl. I can open a bottle w/ the multi tool closed.

    If you can't open the wave with one hand then you shouldn't be around tools at all. The wave is still way superior to this $120 metal dust collector.

    Doesn`t have the tools I want but otherwise interesting. The magnet might be annoying if it`s strong enough to pick up other stuff in your pocket.

    The bucktool of the early 90's had a nicer mechanism to allow this but it was fragile.

    I'm very impressed by the engineering here, but I can't see laying out that kind of cash for a leatherman without the diamond file. Why would they not include that on a premium tool like this when it is so many people's favorite feature?

    Make the knife with replaceable blades if possible.

    If this video was the only information I had about the new Leatherman’s I would be disappointed in Leatherman. He missed a lot of stuff but I am more excited about the knife based ones and the Swiss army style ones then these.
    P.S. why would you do a overview on the p2 and not the p4 with more tools?

    I think not.
    I can do this with my old Fuse if I want to, and it has no magnets to get full of steel particles when I'm working in my garage.
    I don't think this multitool really provides any kind of real Innovation or improvement.

    • @fourthpanda
      @fourthpanda 5 років тому

      Do you really think they didn't test about particulate getting into the tool/magnet? In fact they did and it's not a problem it actually has 😊

      Yeah they didn't test it in my garage.
      With the mill bastards, '58 Craftsman block grinder, and the angle grinder turning steel Into powder and fine shaving every day there's no way this isn't going get steel particles stuck to it's magnets.
      I set my leatherman fuse on the bench all the time and have to blow it off with compressed air before putting it away.

    • @fourthpanda
      @fourthpanda 5 років тому

      @@TylerSnyder305 I'm just suggesting to you that it wont be any different from what you are already doing. You can still just blow it off with compressed air just like your fuse and see no difference.

    aaand its illegal to carry in germany due to § 42a WaffG since you have a blade that you can open with one hand and that locks.

    the best innovation in the multitool world (not only leatherman )is the wave new it opens one hand and does much more than this $120 not so cheap to be called free....
